Don’t usually comment but had to add my two cents regarding the hen do! I think Helen owed it to her old friend to NOT “work” the entire time. She should never have taken her vlog camera to a something you’d hope would be a “friends only” experience? Everyone looked uncomfortable being filmed, the vlog made no sense, it didn’t highlight anything about Magaluf for hen parties that may be looking to go there themselves? It was a car crash piece of content. I’d be so upset if I invited my old friend away on a holiday hen and they “worked” through it or just appeared to be miserable during the activities we did outside of eating and drinking.

Also, whilst I’m here.
I believe the issue with influencers currently is they are so offensively out of touch with the reality so many of us face. I haven’t been on holiday in 10 years, I am not jealous of the fact that people go on holiday, in fact I love love love watching holiday vlogs but! The gifted, all expenses paid trips can and have reduce me to tears, do I not deserve a free holiday for working 18 hour days in healthcare on minimum wage? Same goes for makeup or clothes or other pr/gifted products. It’s absolutely abhorrent that we are living through such difficult times financially to have our favourite content creators rubbing their freebies in our faces and pushing their #ads down our throats. The lack of empathy for their audience is what is driving people away from their favourite influencers. Especially ones such as Helen who produce such low quality content when that wasn’t always the case! It’s the final nail in the coffin.

If your engagement is low — that’s totally a you problem not a “people are jealous” problem

Just finished watching the video, and it made me SO MAD.

1) The ignorance with which she speaks about this issue is fucking astounding. So she's suspected she has had ADHD for a couple of months now, right? And she talks like she's done 0 research on her own condition. You know, the one that has, supposedly, negatively affected her entire life. Affected her so bad that she couldn't be bothered to learn anything about it. Who cares if you send a couple dozen viewers on a downward spiral, questioning their own mental health? So what if some people throw away their hard-earned money on unnecessary screenings? As long as Helen has a shiny new label to blame all her failures on - it doesn't matter.

2) The way she's portraying her "severe", "high level" ADHD is grossly misleading and irresponsible. What she's describing is so mild and vague that it might as well be B12 deficiency. Everything she marks as her "severe" ADHD is either a typical depression/anxiety manifestation or just "normal" although shitty behaviour. Granted, anxiety and depression are ADHD comorbidities, but she's never once mentioned any ADHD-specific symptoms or even any long-term struggles. If we go by Helen's description of ADHD - we all have it.

As I mentioned before, I'm a mental health professional. At the moment, I support people with addictions. About a month ago, I started working with a new client - a recovering methamphetamine addict. Their addiction started because of undiagnosed ADHD. They're diagnosed and medicated now, and last week they told me that for the first time in 30 years, they managed to watch a movie from start to finish. And it made them feel so proud they cried. THAT is severe ADHD. Lifelong suffering, depression, suicide attempts, addiction, ruined health, dysfunctional relationships, unrealised potential - that is severe ADHD. Not "umm, I fidget a lot, don't understand sarcasm and feel rejected when people tell me no". Fuck you, Helen. ADHD can destroy a person's life, and you make it sound like a slight inconvenience.

3) How quickly she JUMPED on the opportunity to write off every personality flaw and shit behaviour as ADHD, my god. She went on and on about how she "cannot help it", how she's never done anything bad on purpose, how people "have made her feel like she's inconsiderate" when she's just a poor lamb "full of ADHD". Oh, but she's not going to use her diagnosis as a crutch or excuse, no-no-no. Also, the way she spoke about resenting people for giving her "a hard time" - she is 100% going to weaponize her diagnosis and guilt trip Phil and everyone around her.

P.S.: The organization she went with is so questionable, too. I couldn't find any information about the specialists they employ - what qualifications do they have, are they members of any respected associations? What governing body is this organization answering to? There is a "donate" button at the top, but no mention of them being a charity and no registered charity number anywhere. Also, the "ADHD coaching" they are pushing sounds like an absolute scam. Overall, I feel like they might be giving Helen the diagnosis she wants, just to sell her unnecessary coaching.

She copes with tattle… by seeing her therapist? 🤨 Look how well that’s going 😂 “I don’t look anymore” 👀mmmkayyy…

I’d just like to clarify I do not have too much time on my hands 🙌🏻 if anyone does pls donate 😂 but in all seriousness, it’s incredibly annoying when people dismiss critique with a ✨they’re just jealous, unfulfilled and sad little people✨ no mate, you choose to display yourself to the entire world DAILY online 🙂 you show us the you, you want us to see.
Oooooh, I bloody LOVE it when influencers call people "jealous, unfulfilled and sad" - as if it somehow invalidates their opinions. Of course I am jealous, sad and unfulfilled! We quite literally live in a capitalist hellscape! War, climate crisis, energy crisis, raging inflation, corrupt politicians, economic disparity, racism, misogyny, violent crimes... Should I keep going? I think most people with half a brain are somewhat sad and unfulfilled at the moment? Is critical thinking reserved for content people only?

And if the implication is that happy and successful people do not have time for Tattle, then why do you keep coming back, Helen?

if I hear one more f*cking person say that ADHD or autism is a super power, I will actually yeet myself into space. IT IS NOT! it's is life ruining, exactly like lovely @Innit says. I've been hospitalised perhaps 5 times or more because of my ADHD, struggled with drinking, depression and anxiety, and I'm currently trialing new meds whilst trying to not fail uni... IT IS NOT A SUPER POWER! 😭 she's such a f*cking bellend for spreading misinformation. and how can even be sure she's got an actual formal diagnosis when she's got a sodding COACH? they do not diagnose?! they did not go to medical school ffs.

I'm honestly so upset and sad, which I know is ridiculous. she's just a silly influencer. but this is my life's struggle, this is what actual severe ADHD is like and she's actually taking the piss.

The lack of empathy for their audience is what is driving people away from their favourite influencers.
This sentence says it all. Many viewers got wise to how lazy their favourite influencers were during lockdown. Their “woe is me” attitude to being stuck in their, often, large houses filled with #gifted items really rubbed people the wrong way. It should’ve been a time to embrace being at home, creating new, easy content but many just didn’t bother. In Helen’s case, she just got incredibly drunk and broke the rules - a lot. How do you sympathise with that? The answer is that you don’t.

Now that there’s a serious problem with being able to afford to live, I think it’s likely upsetting people even more that these lazy, narcissistic arseholes are being given free stuff when they obviously don’t need it. It’s absolutely disgusting. The company I work for has almost entirely stopped sending out PR packages because it’s sending a horrible message. Instead we’re donating to local charities, and we all feel bloody good about it.

While I’m here…if you can afford to, buy a few extra bits to give to your local food bank at your weekly shop. The one near me keeps running out of baby formula. These are sad times we live in.

It’s just her usual whiny, navel gazing nonsense 🙄. And it is a moan and a dig because that‘s what she always does when something triggers her.

Like all influencers she choses how much of her life she reveals online - she could choose to keep certain things to herself but she doesn’t. She can’t be bothered to make decent content and she doesn’t have a speciality to focus on (such as makeup/style/books/commentary) so she’s reliant on clickbait titles and talking about her life. She’s the one who constantly brings up babies and marriage, she’s the one who shows her partner on videos and frequently digs him out online, she’s the one who talks about her various health issues. There plenty of YouTubers I watch who I have very little idea of their personal lives because it’s not the focus of their content. Helen is a bit like a reality TV star in that she has no discernible talent and make a living by selling her life.

And she’s got some nerve whining about people invading her privacy when she constantly films people and puts them online - there’s no way she always checks that it’s ok with people before she whacks up a video with them in it.

She's right in theory but fails to consider the fact that she constantly overshares and clickbaits her viewers. I came across the other site and ultimately this one when she was seperated from Maff and kept hinting at it but got rude with anyone who asked where he was or other questions related to her relationship after she had just very publicly shared her wedding and life. I was genuinely just a fan who wanted to know what was happening with my fav creator and if she was okay. A simple 'please stop asking about x, will explain in future' would have been fine.

If you have issues with people feeling like they know too much or are entitled to your life, create content that isn't personal and sort out your boundaries. All Helen makes are vlogs about her personal life then gets upset if people ask questions about stuff they see or wonder where certain friends they enjoyed watching are? Same with the ADHD, don't do a vlog all about it then get mad when people share stories or advice on what they did to try and help you. The lines are so blurred that knowing about her pube length is fine but it's overstepping to ask where a friend is who used to feature in vlogs a lot? Like what?

Sammi Jefcoate does a great job at creating content that people love yet still reinforcing boundaries that she feels ok about so people respect that! She has vlogs but edits out the bits that are personal. There's no confusion and she's assertive but kind when establishing herself.

Rant over but god.

(tldr: Right in theory, unfair in practice when Helen blurs the boundaries and it's hard to know what's ok vs what isn't)
