Still waiting on the glamping holiday review
Who the duck is criticising Hattie for doing bits and pieces of work from home (and I use the term loosely) between caring responsibilities. Is she posting from the 1950s?

And why is she posting her first daft? The whole thing is so dull and repetitive that it is almost unreadable.

Just because you have something to say, doesn't make it interesting.

Who the feck has ever said “working mothers have it easy”? She’s a victim in every single aspect of her life. And the little drop in about not making rent unless she worked. Ghoul.

I think the conversation was probably more like
Hattie - I have no money
Caring relative- maybe time to think about getting a normal job

Looool not working a 9-5 is the biggest privilege as a working mother! As is remote working. And the flexibility to determine your own schedule, I couldn’t bear to keep reading but she’s not even mentioned nursery fees so assuming she’s either got family local or wfh with baby which saves at £2k+ a month? Her and Jack are truly the same creature 😭

She mentioned in a different article that her partner worked in a supermarket. He will definitely be doing shifts through a whole 24 hour period, if he still is. Which means she can do her work around his shifts quite easily. Although in the same article, he had quit his job to be a househusband - and don’t you dare judge them for this modern, role reversal lifestyle choice! Either way - I would guess there is very little, if anything being spent on childcare.

Imagine basing an article around “Working mother’s have it easy” and who the duck commissioned and edited that? Its not all the fault of our Hattie. Premise is shocking and delivery is woeful.

Hattie - you cannot be on this planet if you think juggling kid(s) with an actual, leave the house job, has it easy because they have time for a piss and a sandwich at lunch. Seriously, get a job at your husbands place and see how much fun it is.

As bad as that article is (and, it really is very poorly written, Hattie - definitely not your best work) don’t do what I did and read her “I was addicted to porn - yes me, a woman!” article. I beg of you. Don’t.

No link shared on purpose. It’s entirely on you if you want a blow by blow account on our Hattie re-discovering herself after her addiction.

By the way, fellow Breakdown scrutinisers. The latest article shared is a load of puffery about having a pretty table. Huge amounts of name dropping for items to purchase with very few illustrations and no hyperlinks, so, once again, not the best article and almost useless apart from maybe getting a bit of click through traffic. It’s by a Mollie Davies though. I thought I remembered the name for Blush & Luxe but she isn’t on their website (anymore) however, it is listed on her own personal website as part of her job. So, I think something maybe amiss there - I am sure she WAS on the Blush & Luxe site at some point - she is a major contributor to the nonsense on Breakdown.

If nothing else, it’s another example of the circle jerk that is the “Wellness” money spinning.

I know you’re telling us not too and for good reason no doubt but the little voice in my head is dying for me to read it 😬.

Well, it’s put me off wanting to participate in some “self discovery” for a while, I can assure you!

The more she writes the harder it is to believe that there aren’t serious parental subsidies going on… 😬
My parents are working class and when we had really tough times when I was a teenager my mum’s budgeting skills were exceptional despite having to deal with various other issues I can’t go into. When I visit them they always try to throw me £10-20 for something which I always try to decline but they won’t have it. I just repay it by buying them things. I’m sure many parents if they have a bit more money will always provide. Grandparents are notorious as I have seen the money my parents and others in the in law side give to the grandparents. I’m sure the child wants for nothing which is good and hopefully has a lovely relationship with the grandparents

Well, I suppose it means that she won’t be sharing tales of how skint she is at the same time as having a Patreon account in her bio.

Fair play to her though - she is undoubtedly making the right decision for her. And us!

Thanks for the update on the book, Hattie. We look forward to reading your reviews on the free holidays you blagged too!

ETA - lots of replies to her (can’t see the original posts because I don’t follow her) are saying “see you over on LinkedIn”. Not quite sure she has grasped the idea of sacking off social media quite yet.

This is another reason I think she’s an absolute danger: I don’t believe she’s deleting Twitter because of her mental health, I think she’s deleting it because this thread exists and people have noticed her undelivered crowdfunder book and found hints that just because she left school at 16 doesn’t mean she’s as working class as she’s posted all over her Twitter (I mean, she’s also called Hattie…). Social media is terrible for MH and comparing oneself but if she’s honest she just wants to avoid the scrutiny that she’s seen Jack Monroe come under.

Good on her, I guess: keep writing your magazine telling depressed people that they can buy their way out of mental illness; do your PR work as an honest(ish) living. But I do wish grifters would stop invoking mental health as some kind of Golem to build a wall around their many deceptions.

Oh I mean more paying rent than £10-20. I don’t want to get flamed for this cos I genuinely believe that London should be for a diverse range of ppl & property prices have fucked it for everyone to the benefit of a small group of landlords and people with minted parents but I struggle to understand how a freelance journalist of no significance & a supermarket worker have managed to pay rent on a one (or two bed idk) flat and have a kid… or why they would want to as neither “need” to be in London which I don’t like saying but she whinges about being skint so maybe something to review? 😬 maybe that’s what the £15k went on but yeah, doesn’t add up?

She’ll soon find out that she won’t be able to get quite as many commissions without that twitter following to bolster it. A lot of publications will claim to go on ideas when receiving pitches but we all know that it’s how many followers they can push their articles out to for click throughs. I’ve heard absolutely hideous things about the way she treats people irl. People are broken because of her and her actions.
