So glad to find an Emperors New Clothes thread about Harry Styles. He is the most desperate person I have ever seen, worse even than the horrendous Rita Ora. I don't think he makes a single decision in his life. He's like a robot, he's told what to wear, what to do, what to say. He makes me shiver because it's so weird and disturbing.

I must admit the whole idea of him being given these big film roles in the first place annoys me. There’s so many actors that have dedicated their lives to training in the field and have been unable to work for the past year or are waiting to catch their big break, and yet Harry gets to rock up and star in major movies just because he fancies it all of a sudden. He’s rich and famous enough, he hardly needs the exposure or pay packet. And he’s got the huge luxury of being able to stay safe in his nice big home but instead he’s been here there and everywhere flaunting his PR relationship and stunt castings all year. It’s annoying.

It irritates me too. I get that he was passable in Dunkirk, but it seems he’s now being given a movie career off the back of not embarrassing himself, rather than giving a genuinely decent performance.

i used to be a hardcore 1d stan back in the day until they broke up and i didn't bother keeping up with their solo careers until the pandemic when i had the time.

i was pretty shocked to see how different harry is now compared to back in the day. the rest of the lads are still relatively the same but it;s almost like they've replaced harry with some alien money making machine. maybe he really is like that (disconnected, not grounded anymore) but i still think it's an image portrayed to the media, which baffles me because how could this be better than being genuine?

people cling on to his personality from the 1d days as if it's still the way he is now when in reality they have NO idea what type of person he is now. absolutely no idea. he just wanders on twitter twice a year to tweet treat people with kindness and promote his album and that's all the contact they have with him. his insta isn't normal in the slightest. all the other boys have photos of them being normal and just doing normal everyday things. not just magazine photoshoots and concert photos and tour advertisements.

I liked his first album, I haven’t bothered listening to the second. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with him per se, but I can’t see why people find him so interesting? I feel like he’s always separated as being “different” but apart from how he dresses sometimes, I don’t see what’s “different about him.”

Totally agree people think he’s some sort of amazing groundbreaking person he’s doing great things for the world in reality there been so many people have done it before him and have had no recognition or little. And it’s frustrating to see him do quite literally nothing to interact with his fans and still get praised for typing three words on his Instagram story

Nice doesn't equal good. Even Ted bundy volunteered at suicide prevention place. To me it just seems very convenient and fake.

I prefer sincerety in all its forms. Thats why the superstars of yesteryear still last. They were open. (Brad, Johnny, Leo, Nicholson, brando etc) they don't give a flying fuck about being liked, popular, hearthrobs.

I despise that because its him, he's getting these movie roles that should've gone to struggling actors trying to make it. I want them to flop commercially and critically.

He's ruined a marriage with children. Jason is being much more graceful then I would.

Agree with this. I actually love him, I’m a massive fan. But he’s so disconnected from his fans. He doesn’t interact with us on Instagram or Twitter anymore, he was filming in Brighton and his other costars were walking past fans and talking to them and he didn’t come out the whole day. I understand he’d probably be mobbed if he stood chatting but he could at least say hello. His manager is a prick too,

The disconnect is my biggest issue with him. It’s like he’s forgotten where he’s come from and who made him famous and able to take opportunities. The fans only seem to exist to him and his team when there’s stuff to sell.

The other three (I don’t include zayn because he’s just living a quiet life now) all did things like ticketed streams and insta lives during lockdown but he did nothing except flog his merchandise (which as I’ve mentioned before fans had to wait months for with no communication from the company that handle his merchandise)

I don’t know how many people have been handling around in Brighton watching the filming. If it’s loads I understand but it’s it’s only 20/30 people then I there’s no excuse for him to not at least say hello and sign a few things even if he didn’t do photos.
