Will there be a memorial service post COVID? An opportunity for those attending to wear uniforms maybe?

I know its after the funeral, but if it makes things easier for HM surely that's what matters at the moment.

Long term I think things will be put in place, but I would imagine that HM and most immediate family are just trying to get through this week as best they can.

There are always family members who are PIA but unfortunately the RF have those playing out publicly.

ETA I was pregnant with my first child when my father-in-law died abroad and my husband had to travel over there for the funeral. I wasn’t able to go with him as I had a threatened miscarriage and my mother stayed with me while hubby was away.

Actually if women are honest about this being their profession for whatever reasons then that's up to them as as as I'm concerned. It's a job and you can choose to be a sex worker if you want.

Both William and Catherine were very well thought of when they lived on Anglesey pre Wedding ...Catherine even helped with local scout troop and by all accounts was a very good baker ( I have this on very good authority from a colleague )
I once stood next to her when she was shopping in our local waitrose....no airs and graces- the local lads in the store were so excited to see her ( she had very low key security at the time) she even carried her own basket - I had a quick nosy to see what she was buying ( digestive biscuits and chocolate iirc!)what I do remember was that she was stunning and had the most amazing bouncy hair!
William flew the helicopter several time to local hospital to drop off casualties , but no one bothered him

I wonder if the palace aides are tearing their hair out at the capitulation to the stroppy boys and their fancy uniforms. Andrew has been put into the shadows because of the FBI wanting to question him and him being reluctant to face them, so instead of being mardy and "demanding" to dress up in a uniform of a rank he did not attain, he should stop skulking in those shadows and face his accusers.
The accusations will not go away. And if he keeps avoiding the issue it just makes everyone more likely to believe he is guilty.
So he needs to come out of hiding and face the FBI enquiry.

I was listening to something on the radio a few weeks ago where they said that Andrew's lawyers were advising him not to go for questioning because they were worried after that disastrous interview with Emily Maitlis and apparently he's also worried that if goes to the US they might keep him there. I remember an interview years ago with a royal photographer (I think it was Arthur Edwards).
He said Diana was a lot more photogenic than Kate but that in real life Kate was much more stunning and that photograph’s didn’t do her justice.

I'm in the same place. Ann and Edward in plain clothes, unfair but prevents it being all about Andy'n'Haz. Charles and William in uniform would be a better compromise.

On the other hand, St George's will look very sombre with just 30 dressed in black. Maybe the military uniforms in such a sparse congregation would look diminished, somehow?

Fully agree. If the stories that Harry and/or Randy Andy were kicking off about uniforms then by banning them all, yet again HM Queen has played another blinder.

It will forever now be "the funeral where Harry and Andy were so childish about things that everyone had to change their clothes" and that will be reminded time and time again when the photos come out.

It also stops Netflix/MeAgain having a new set of photos or footage of Hazno in a posh uniform to fling about the place.

I'm quite sure that Philip won't give a shiny tit either way from his coffin, and the military folks might be pissed off a little for now but not as badly as they would have been for years to come if Hazno had got his way and been allowed to wear a non-entitled uniform and the photos keep reappearing.

In the long run this is the best answer.

Anyway we will see whether it's the truth or whether it was all media lies, on Saturday afternoon.
