Meghan's team is the usual suspects. Scobie, Lainey, Chris Ship, Katie Nicholls, now Jack Royston, the Sussexbots, her PR reps (Sunshine Sachs and Izzie May), her lawyers and business advisors....
Just one example, Meghan was pretty quick to tie up with Andrew Morton for her first 'unauthorised' praise-filled biography, published in April 2018. A few paragraphs jump out:
The future was looking very bright. As she had predicted three years earlier, she had been accepted at Northwestern University, where she intended to study English. She was accomplished in so many fields that some expected her to eventually enter politics or the law. All felt that she would do something worthwhile with her life and at the same time give back to the community. The word classy, which she used to describe herself in her final yearbook, and her choice of a quote from former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt to illustrate her senior year photograph reflected her rounded personality.....
...Meghan and Larnelle took classes together in the School of Communications after Meghan changed her major from English to a dual major of theater arts and international relations. The twin major reflected her indecision about whether to pursue a career in politics and the diplomatic world or strive for screen stardom....
.... Her intervention had won the crowd. But it was no longer enough. She wanted to stretch her wings; she had things to say, points to make, that went way beyond the question-and-answer format concerning all things Suits. She was a well-traveled young woman with an appreciation of different countries, cuisines, and cultures. Meghan had a take on everything from Middle Eastern politics to makeup. She felt her role on Suits was a launch pad to something more. She was not yet exploiting her full potential....
....There were other forfeits, too. Following the public announcement, she resigned from her position as global ambassador for World Vision Canada and stepped back from her involvement with gender equality and women’s empowerment in organizations like United Nations Women and One Young World. Now that she was inside the wrought iron palace gates, she had to play by their rules.
Politics in particular is firmly out of bounds. Meghan has previously used her celebrity to back Hillary Clinton, lament Brexit, and attack Donald Trump as “misogynistic” and “divisive.” Such strident opinions will be muted by palace protocol that aims to prevent royals—not always successfully—from publicly expressing views on political figures, parties, and issues.
So that biography was laying out the breadcrumb trail of the 'actress and activist'. Lady C also was told by many of her sources that Meghan's political ambitions were common knowledge. I really doubt it's serious, but it makes sense as a strategy to keep her name in circulation.
