He is sharing lots of DMs which show support.

I hope a thorough investigation is carried out into all claims of inappropriateness.

I never picked up on any ND with Gregg, not that that would be any excuse for the allegations against him.

The BBC still reels from the Strictly backlash, Gio seems to have received a lot of online support when allegations were made against him, wasn’t he even reinstated on some Strictly celebratory show?
Im sure the sort of people who send messages of support to these rapey types are the same kind of people who become romantic penpals with people in prison…

These days, management and PR people have a kind of motto, “anything can be excused”.
Once upon a time, you’d have to take responsibility for your mistakes - put your hands up and say “I fucked up, it wasn’t good enough, I apologise fully and will try to be a better person”. And this approach can work. Think of Hugh Grant and his soliciting, George Michael and his incident in the toilets, both many years ago.
But you don’t tend to hear that anymore. Instead you get the excuses. And then, probably, some promise to go to rehab or therapy which is purely for appearance most of the time so the celeb can say, “look, I went to therapy, I am reformed!”.
I think it’s obvious Gregg doesn’t think he’s in the wrong. His video response blaming “middle-class women of a certain age” proved that IMO. He honestly thought people would all be behind him, it was just those bloody women. 🙄

He’s going to need a JCB to dig himself out at this rate.

I find it astonishing that rather than apologise, he’s just doubled down and described his accusers as ‘middle class women of a certain age’ though I note he stopped just short of the K word. Also, not wanting to jump to blaming the BBC here because ultimately, Wallace chose to behave the way he did, but it’s come out that numerous complaints were made against him over the years and what action was taken against him?

It’s also pretty depressing to see the usual response from a lot of men (and some women, it has to be said) that you can’t say anything these days and it was all just bants, why didn’t they speak up before now etc.

I remember something dodgy going on when he was on Strictly, there was no love lost between him and his pro partner Aliona. I thought it came out that he was being lecherous and grope-y but the only articles I can find now are how terribly stressful the experience was for him and how he was the victim.

Aliona was definitely no-nonsense and a little sarcastic but I liked that about her, she was a fantastic dancer and choreographer. During that era of the show the female pro costumes were really skimpy for the Latin dances (typical of the competitive world) and he didn't exactly seem respectful.
he was going commando in training fancy having to rumba with him when you are virtually glued together in parts of the dance to have little gregggggg poking at you through his trackie bottoms, vile and then to look at that gurning face yuk

Actually this behaviour can be quite typical of autistic individuals who feel they are being unjustly treated. they can be outraged and incensed. It’s very black and white.
My kid and his mates are regularly outraged by things that happen at school, and how unfair the system is. They are only 10
It can be. And I wouldn’t deny that he is autistic however I don’t believe he has been mistreated because of his autism. I believe he is a sleaze who has made many women uncomfortable and upset by his behaviour towards them, to the extent that it also upset men and women who witnessed it.

I read this evening that the BBC gave him training in 2019 and he’d been spoken to several times over the years about his behaviour!

he really needs to piss off and stop talking to the press under the guise of ‘friends’.

I don’t doubt he’s autistic but he also managed to build a successful business and work for several TV programmes, his autism wasn’t a problem then was it?

He is repulsive. I feel sorry for his wife, imagine the ranting and whinging he must be doing all day.

He also has the entitlement of an obese ugly man with a wank personality going to the gym for a few months and being shocked that still nobody fancies him.
This. Plus I think he’s one of those men that enjoys making women feel uncomfortable. You can see how much he’s enjoying making that poor Strictly professional feel going on and on about his lack of underwear. No one wants or needs to know. Men like him cannot bear their behaviour being challenged and they always respond with insults to any woman who stands up to them.

Maybe Penny didn't want him white knighting for her? We have no idea really who made complaints and when and she certainly wouldn't be the first woman who asked their other half to make a big deal out of it.

The fact Twatface has said its middle aged women of a certain class says way more about him than it does about them. My other half was a little 'its just banter' until I pointed out that the kind of banter we have, and our friends, is in an environment where we all know each other and each others humour well. It's a bit different if our best mate says something to me than the creepy old man in the pub we all know saying exactly the same thing.
Yes exactly. Rude flirty banter with your other half or rude jokes amongst close friends is very different to with guests on a tv set. It’s not even like it was colleagues he’d worked with for years (not that that would still be that acceptable

So it wasn't shown on tv yet Rod still kicked off. I doubt he's been a Angel in the past. He would have been better🤐.

It's not really a big deal a chef not wanting to taste rank food😷
So it’s ok for him to humiliate her as long as it wasn’t shown on TV? You (or I) don’t know what Greg said or did to Penny, we only know what was televised. Whatever happened was obviously enough to upset Penny to the extent that her husband feels the need to bring it up 10 years down the line.

Strong sense of justice is very typical in autism as I know to my detriment however he is clearly weaponising his diagnosis. He has managed to navigate life successfully to date and be in a career where strong social skills are a benefit which has probably been a challenge with autism, so he is clearly intelligent and able to navigate aspects of his autism. Being that sexual harassment is very clearly not socially acceptable, in my experience an autistic adult with Greg's ability to navigate life would be hyper aware of avoiding it so as not to be socially excluded. In his market trader days there may have been an element of learned behaviour of misogynistic banter to fit in but for many years now he has been in an environment where that would have clearly been unacceptable, and he has had specific training around it.

Tl;dr he's a wrongun making shit excuses

I've gone off Torode. With GWs behaviour in such plain sight he must have seen a lot and was in a position to act on it.

The show needs a reboot from the ground up.
Remember the woman from Burma called Mimi and Gregg said her name was silly so he'd call her You-You?
Well she didn't like John either.

I’m a woman of a certain age and I think that custard-guzzler is a cunt and always have done.

He comes across as very similar to that other bald-headed bloke Dom, who used to appear on every BBC daytime show despite having no redeemable qualities or intelligence whatsoever. Didn’t he get his knuckles wrapped for being handsy?

Her parents live with her and Gregg in their spacious home so she's got help and support around the clock. Emotional as well as practical support. That would help in these circumstances. Some people just prefer to turn a blind eye.
Her parents apparently live there to help his wife by looking after the kid, so, in his words, she stays young fresh and sexy for him.
Stomach churning, isn't he....🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Completely agree. When i was younger it was commonplace for men to make lewd comments and to do things like run their hands up and down your spine. They thought they were being funny. Now I’d report them. If I was still working and I heard someone more junior reporting them /having difficulties you bet I’d speak up with my “middle age middle class woman” persona. I think this Greg Wallace thing has resonated so much because all the woman HAVE been there in some way.
Same. In my 20s I worked in a very male-dominated industry, at a junior level, I had that kind of stuff happen all the time but tbh I just didn't know what to do about it, all the senior staff were men, I wasn't going to complain about their mates & their blokey 'banter' to an MD, for example. I'm still in the same industry now, but 20 years later, there are a lot more women around now but also if I found myself in an inappropriate situation with any colleague, I would certainly react differently to how I would have done when I was younger. I'm more confident, more self-assured, and also know that I'd not be at risk of losing my job or not being believed. I'm certain there will be women, maybe also men, other than the 13 middle-ages ones who have been upset or disgusted by Greggggggg over the years.
