really winds me up when influencers don’t think the rules apply to them . As if they live by their own rules. Not necessarily a 'rave' topic but did anyone else clock Grace and Honor sat next to each other sharing food yesterday? It was on Grace's stories, they were sharing a bench and the gap between them was only big enough to fit the bag of chic-fil-a they were eating together.
I think she needs to read up on the rules. Previously you could meet one person outside who wasn’t in your bubble but that is now not allowed. I don’t blame people for getting it wrong when it changes week to week but the ones who are going on holiday and posting on Instagram need a slap.really winds me up when influencers don’t think the rules apply to them . Balkanbae this is the rules lifted from the UK government site
Meeting other people
It is against the law to meet socially with family or friends unless they are part of your household or support bubble. You cannot leave home for recreational or leisure purposes (such as for a picnic or a social meeting).
This is so disappointing, i thought she was one of the very few influencers following rulesI'm so disappointed. She's also been going out multiple times a week for non-essential journeys to support her veganuary fad. Yet she's the one preaching 'we're all in this together'? Her DMs are open on Instagram, I've sent her one but I'm not expecting anything back. I'm unfollowing and unsubscribing now, she's part of the reason I've not left the house since September and I'm sick of it.
Even if she thought the rule was that she could meet 1 person outside, she was sat a few centimetres from Honor, sharing food! They certainly weren't socially distanced.
I don't think she'll be living with him until she's married, so she may be living alone and have chosen to bubble with her parents rather than him?Chloe has a partner doesn’t she ?So she wouldnt be allowed to bubble with them. So yes against the rules again . One rule for everyone else but not for them it seems. There is no excuse they are educated people If I can understand the rules they can too it’s just pure ignorant .
that coffee cup thing is insane! I think there are clearly rules that are unclear, but the rules Grace appears to be breaking (i.e. not distancing from Honour) are very clear cut andI don't understand how she could be confused? I have met up with my mum, who lives in a different household alone for walks in the park but always make sure to distance as I have done since MarchLong time lurker.
I’m guessing she got confused with the rules on exercising below. That is one of the things the govt is looking at because so many people are confusing it with meeting for socialising. But yeh those women on the news got fined for walking together with coffee cups because it was considered a picnic.
You can exercise in a public outdoor place:
- by yourself
- with the people you live with
- with your support bubble (if you are legally permitted to form one)
- in a childcare bubble where providing childcare
- or, when on your own, with 1 person from another household
Yes I imagine this is a big reason behind it! I don't think she realises most of her subscribers would be happy enough just to watch her make something as simple as a victoria sponge and have a chat with Banksy and her dad.I think the pressure to create content is a lot and that's why she keeps going out?
yeh exactly, personally I woukd like her to do more of those eating like different decades, they were really goodYes I imagine this is a big reason behind it! but no offence, they are hard on everyone, I don't think anyone is finding this easy, sociable or not. She is living with her family that she is very close to, it is not like she is living alone or somethingI think Grace is a very social person and all the restrictions are quite hard on her.
I get that in people with ED cooking food you can;t eat is a sign of disordered eating (I did the same at the hieght of mine), but as a baker I think it is normal she uses dairy as it is such a fundamental part of many desserts so excluding it probably wasn't an option during her course (I assume), so for me it feels normalGoing back to Grace's eating and whether she might have an ED--
I appreciate that her family are slim and that she is tall, and so there may be a genetic component to her small size. However, there's a difference between being slim, like her sister, and underweight. Grace is straight up underweight (I'd estimate BMI 16). She's not a teenager, she's in her twenties. She's clearly fixated on food, and often cooks / bakes things that she cannot eat (as has been pointed out by others in this thread). To me, this points to an ED. Not all EDs are straightforward calorie-counting or purging behaviour. They can be nebulous and nuanced, with strange rules that most people would never pick up on. I speak as someone recovering from an ED, by the way-- a lot of Grace's viewers are. There's something to be said about that, I think...
What do you think?
As someone who has thankfully never had an ED, I can wholeheartedly say that I don't think we have anything to worry about regarding Grace's eating. I think people with and without EDs can have similar eating habits and it be healthy for one person and unhealthy for the person with the ED. I know plenty of people who eat like her and don't have an ED. She eats the same portions as her family and is pretty active so probably just has an incredibly fast metabolism. Regarding her making foods that she can't eat, this is so common and by no means an indicator of her having an ED. She's been passionate about baking since before her dairy intolerance worsened so she's obviously going to make things for her dairy-consuming family using the original recipes. The same with her baking degree, she wouldn't have had the choice to just not partake in bakes that contain dairy. I know of vegans who will cook non-vegan dishes for their families because they're accommodating, not because they have an ED and are fixated on food. By your logic, all bakers and chefs and caterers etc have EDs for them to be fixated on food and constantly making things that they're not going to eat. I think that when you have an unhealthy relationship with food, it might be easier for you to assume that people can't possibly have these eating habits and be healthy but I can assure you, we do exist!!Going back to Grace's eating and whether she might have an ED--

Totally agree, I think it is just a sad indicment on society that SO many people nowadays have ED/disordered eating that lots of people tend to see it everywhere. I find the same TBH, around half of my female friends have some kind of disordered eating pattern (without it being a full on ED), so it is not surprising that lots of people see them when they don't (IMO) existAs someone who has thankfully never had an ED, I can wholeheartedly say that I don't think we have anything to worry about regarding Grace's eating.
