That's wonderfu
How do you know about the in laws?
I think the poster meant that the Booths seem like they would be decent in laws? On other hand hand, I'm often surprised at how good some people are at cobbling together private/semi-private info so maybe I misread.

Ahhhhh I'm so intrigued, please share!
His jacket said TFL so really that could be anything from train driver to bus driver to station manager and beyond! so I don’t think that’s giving too much away as I have no idea where he works just what company he works for.

I completely understand the poster above not saying as they clearly could tell you where he works location wise and I would never share that if I knew either as that is most definitely an invasion of privacy.

I use to enjoy her content but now it’s kinda worrying how I’m satire and childish she is and how much she relies on her parents and family. Both her siblings moved out n one engaged and she’s at home baking cakes. Nothing wrong w cake but idk she seems sheltered

it would be a shame for someone like Grace to find herself in her late 20s with little irl work experience.
This worries me, too. Kinda OT but having worked in academia I know tonnes of people who have gotten to PhD level, so mid/late 20s typically, and have never had a job. I worked in shops and stuff since I was 15 (considered late to have your first p/t job at the time) and I have noticed that in recent years I don't see as many teens in jobs like that anymore. I really feel for young people, especially at the moment, when every job advert for an entry level position wants 3 years of experience or is an apprenticeship for working as a bloody receptionist or shop assistant (slight hyperbole, but only just).

Grace has volunteered at Chloe's school though and she does a lot for the church, so at least she has some work experience.

Are we praising 23 year olds for doing their own washing and helping out around the house. Most children above 13 should be doing all above.

One of the problems with this thread is people not knowing what the law in the UK is at the time she recorded a segment, and just assuming they know what the law is, and then being cross at her for breaking that imaginary law.

When you carefully watch her videos and cross reference the timings with Insta you'll see she hasn't broken any law.

She hasn't even broken the official guidance.

It's the same for Advertising Standards: you only need to declare that it's an ad if the company tells you what to say. If they give you a product and ask you to talk about it you don't need to declare that. If they give you a product and pay you money and ask you to talk about it you don't need to declare that either. If they give you anything, and then tell you what to say, that's what needs to be said.
You are so wrong go to ASA and look up the rules. If they are paying you it’s an AD end of . If they gifted you something for free and you show it it’s an AD. The item you received is a payment in itself .

Did anyone used to watch Supersizers with Sue Perkins where they used to recreate food by era and dress up in the clothing of that time period?? Graces video made me think of that show. She could definitely do a series on her channel like that. It would be cool because it’s fun to watch but also a little history lesson

Jesse's atheist so I imagine his partner is too? Obviously we don't know for sure but he doesn't seem particulalry interested in the church. The Booth parents must be okay with this so I think it's just a coincidence that Chloe's partner is a part of the church and they likely grew up together. She seems very traditional and was staying at home like Grace to save for a house which she's buying now with her fiance. Maybe they're rushing the marriage because the house will be ready by January and they want to move in asap?
I don’t think Jesse is atheist. I’m sure he used to run youth with Grace and I’ve seen pictures of him giving talks at the church. It’s definitely a big part of how they live their lives. As long as they’re all happy, good luck to them I guess.

Long time lurker.
I’m guessing she got confused with the rules on exercising below. That is one of the things the govt is looking at because so many people are confusing it with meeting for socialising. But yeh those women on the news got fined for walking together with coffee cups because it was considered a picnic.

You can exercise in a public outdoor place:

  • by yourself
  • with the people you live with
  • with your support bubble (if you are legally permitted to form one)
  • in a childcare bubble where providing childcare
  • or, when on your own, with 1 person from another household
that coffee cup thing is insane! I think there are clearly rules that are unclear, but the rules Grace appears to be breaking (i.e. not distancing from Honour) are very clear cut andI don't understand how she could be confused? I have met up with my mum, who lives in a different household alone for walks in the park but always make sure to distance as I have done since March

I would just love to be friends with her. It’s so cliche but she’s so “normal”. Not overly concerned with make up or trends and is literally just herself. You know how she is on camera is exactly how she is in real life. She has the spirit of a young child, the joy at tiny things. You can tell she’s the youngest but in a good way 😂 her parents clearly never spoiled any of their kids and they all seem polite and grateful for everything. I hope she continues her success. She would be amazing hosting a cooking show or something.

yep I completely agree. She has broken lockdown rules and I’m not defending her for it. She’s an adult and she should take responsibility for her actions whether she’s sensitive or not I get that.
My point was..I don’t think she is the right sort of person to be an ‘influencer’. She’s very childlike in some ways as other people have pointed out but I don’t believe that to be a bad thing. It is natural for people to comment on you if you’re a social media figure sometimes they’re good comments, sometimes their constructive criticism and other times it is just trolling (death threats etc which I doubt is relevant in Graces case but some people do get them). I personally think Grace is likely to take those comments more to heart than some others would since she doesn’t have to much life experience outside her family home, once again that’s what you get when you put your life out there it’s just an observation of her personality.
What's your basis for thinking Grace would take comments more to heart? Be more sensitive? I think that's irrelevant for whether someone is cut out to be an influencer or famous, etc

Bar sociopaths, everyone has feelings and criticism from trolls is going to hurt even with the knowledge that it's objectively false. No one would do well being bombarded with hate. I worry more about people who are impulsive and have a borderline personality of sorts, who lack self-esteem or support basis outside of their internet fans, who try to become influencers. These personalities would tend to lash out at others or themselves.

If anything I think Grace is really lucky that she has a decent sense of self-esteem, takes up hobbies for meaningful self-care like exercise, and is clearly authentically close with her family.

She’s literally the only youtuber I bother to watch regularly. Even if the video isn’t particularly to my taste I’ll still put it on just to give her the view 😂 you can tell even if she got sponsorships and brand deals she wouldn’t change as a person. I don’t think her family would let her 😂 she deserves so much success and I don’t think she has a bad bone in her body.

I wish all those influencers that call this a “hate site” could see this thread. You only get slated when you deserve it.
100% this, I also love how often that she posts, especially when so many you tubers act as if it is a huge effort to post once a week at most, she clearly shows that she does treat this like a job and works at it

Yeah I noticed that too. I’m not from the UK but aren’t they in another round of lockdown? I don’t want to seem like I’m grilling them for being together, but I am curious as to how they are together with little social distancing. How does this tier system work at this time?

I would legit bake all the time if I could eat it all and not get fat. It's nice to make something from scratch and to feed people.

I don't really care if she's a bit childish. People are too quick to grow up and now i'm an old lady I wish i'd grown up slower.
Same, I love baking but rarely have time to bake nearly as much as I would like to. Besides watching her for her energy, I live vicariously through her.
