I’m not much older than Grace myself (I’m 27) but our upbringing couldn’t be further apart and as some have mentioned at time I do get a little envious of her close family. I have five siblings all half except for one and we all raised each other with not much help from our ‘parents’ and I felt lost as a kid hence why my life turned out the way it did.

That being said as the mother of an 11 year old girl and a 7 month old girl I would be so so proud of my daughter if they were like Grace at her age 🤷‍♀️ The world is a scary place and it’s only getting harder for generations (I lay awake at night wondering what the hell my youngest is going to go through) so it is no wonder her parents have mollycoddled her slightly, I’d do anything to have my girls with me until they are that age and I really hope they stay. I do agree that she is a little immature at times but she is pretty much harmless! I kinda feel very motherly and protective over her because I feel like she might not be cut out to be an ‘influencer’ and receive all the hate she will inevitably get (that comes with having a big following) she’s a very sensitive soul and I hope she doesn’t let people’s observations change her personality as that’s why we all liked her in the first place!
Yeah I totally agree, all of the things people complain about are actually things that I find endearing and make me feel protective over her. You and I are a similar age and my life is very different to both yours and Grace's but tbh, I'd have loved to get to her age and not have been forced to 'grow up'. I don't resent it of her, it's actually nice to see someone that age who is still so innocent. And I agree, she's a very sensitive soul and I just worry that what some folk think is 'fair' and 'valid' criticism would be enough to really upset her.

But when Grace had the BBQ etc the restrictions were different and so she didn’t break the rules. Yes the ones now aren’t great but most of the things people have said were allowed at the time?

I think when you are associated with an institution that can have unsavoury views (LGBT as an example) such as the church, to not speak up in favour of the minority makes you complicit in the ongoing oppression of that group. I say this as a Christian myself, who for that reason has always been vocally pro-LGBT and pro-choice because I realise the consequences of not doing so.

To choose to be 'non-political' is a mark of privilege.

She did the vegan challenge brilliantly and can actually cook, didn’t just go down the free from section in Tesco like loads of them do!

Not necessarily a 'rave' topic but did anyone else clock Grace and Honor sat next to each other sharing food yesterday? It was on Grace's stories, they were sharing a bench and the gap between them was only big enough to fit the bag of chic-fil-a they were eating together.
really winds me up when influencers don’t think the rules apply to them . As if they live by their own rules.

Balkanbae this is the rules lifted from the UK government site

Meeting other people
It is against the law to meet socially with family or friends unless they are part of your household or support bubble. You cannot leave home for recreational or leisure purposes (such as for a picnic or a social meeting).

Having grown up in the church, i've known couples to find the house they want to buy (e.g. perfect house, one person needs to move for work, got a good deal) so the couple marries quickly so they can buy the house and move in together. Maybe that's what happened for Chloe.

Also, I've noticed a lot of religious people have been a lot more relaxed with the rules because "God knows what he's doing" or "God's plan" or whatever. they tend to be quite isolated in their social circle so don't really care/aware too much about what's happening to everyone else. I've been following this thread for a while, was a big fan when i found her early in lockdown, but I've just unsubscribed, cannot believe how much she's breaking the rules.

I really like Grackle's vlogs - they're easy viewing. I do find her a bit intense and naive, but that's just her personality I suppose.

One major bugbear I have is that she doesn't appear to be that great of a baker? She's got a degree in the subject but doesn't seem to have basic knowledge of how certain ingredients work with each other, she always relies on other people's recipes and very rarely comes up with innovative ideas of her own... I don't get what her degree entailed at all because I can't see what makes her stand out from your average person following a recipe.
I think she said in one of her vlogs that her course was more about the technical side of baking than innovation, and that she struggled with the creative side. I’m paraphrasing her, probably heavily.

She seems to me to be a great cook and baker generally but not too confident with trying her own stuff other than small adaptations to make it dairy free (at least on camera), I think it would be great if she did do some vlogs where she tried her own stuff though, I think she’d be a lot better at it than she thinks and it would be really great to see her progress with it.

I think she's become more controversial because she's become more popular and more of an influencer in the past few months. I don't get the freakout about her going to the supermarket one too many times but can understand the annoyance about not declaring it AD as she should. Anyway, she makes mistakes like everyone else but I wouldn't call her immature either. I do like reading what other people think and what they would like to see more of her doing.

I absolutely adore Grace and for me she is exactly what YT should be about! Such a lovely family (her brother is fit!) And I really like how they spend time together having evening meals, church and breaks away. She's incredibly genuine and I think she finds it really daunting when people recognise her out and about.
I just hope she never changes and stays as grounded as possible.

Anyone else amazed that she thought that company sent her that huge box of junk food just because she did a big order? I'm pretty sure they did it just because you are a youtuber. There is so much junk food in her videos and I'm confused because I thought she was lactose intolerant and she's shovelling away mini eggs, white chocolate and orange twirls?
How long till she's eaten that huge hoard and pops to the shops for yet more? And what did she do with all those cakes she made for that video? I wonder if she ever donates anything since she's churchy.

I've not watched her in a long time, I think i may have to start watching her videos again!

She really is so down to earth though, not fake in the slightest and you can tell she puts alot of effort into her videos.

It is refreshing to see her staying true to herself and not being swept away in the YouTube craze and selling herself out to do any sponsors that come along, like many other YouTubers tend to do just to try and stay relevant and noticed.

She is one of the good ones!

Oh gosh I remember this episode! Totally hadn't made that connection. I love Grace and her family, and it's nice to see that Chloe is marrying into a family who clearly love and support each other the way the Booths do!

I highly doubt chloes fiancé lives with them. Idk I just feel like they’re quite religious I get the feeling they will move in together now she’s engaged. He’s most likely from a similar background; church family.
I swear in a vlog not too long ago she said that Chloe had moved out already, this was before the engagement.

Got to say I am glad Grace is in the rave section, I love her content. I'm 34 so probably not her target audience but she's a breath of fresh air to watch. Her family are lovely, Pappa Booth is THE funniest and i love their father daughter bond.

I almost feel bad for Grace because I want her to have the confidence to travel on her own, imagine her vlogs if she went to New York & LA. She would shine and i think show a different side of the places than other vloggers. As for her finding a boyfriend (not that i think she needs to) i think it will be tough because she works from home, not exactly a frequent night club go-er so she's not much of a pool to pick from. I doubt she'd want to rent on her own and if all her friends are paired up she's kind of stuck on her own living at home.

She enjoys food and cooking/baking, she's got a degree in it. I think saying she's 'fixated on food' and that's somehow indicative of having an ED is a reach. She likes it, it isn't like she is unhealthily obsessed with it. From all the what I eat in a day she's filmed, she eats perfectly fine.
I feel horrid for anyone who had to go through issues with food though. I think if people can't watch something involving food without getting triggered or being concerned with EDs professional help may be necessary.

I am surprised anyone would consider Grace judgmental! 😲 She did admit she might have been a little more judgmental in the past, I guess we can all be a bit judgmental in our own way though.. That friend knew her since birth as well and looked like a church friend.
