slightly OT but I am watching her latest video, I find it hilarious she doesn't know where "stan" comes from, also why did this become a word when that song was released about 20 years ago?!
Omg this has reminded me that she always says "peak tong" instead of Pete Tong 🤣🤣🤣

Realised the reason I don’t like her is mainly cos she has a massive Tory vibe, but in an Alfie Deyes way where she’d deny it
I don't think she's politically engaged whatsoever but I definitely don't see her dad as a Tory and he'd probably tell her not to vote Tories. Maybe I'm reading wrong vibes from him though (I know he's on very high wages as a head teacher now if you look him up..£118,370!! So I guess wealth could change things)

I'm not from the UK but as far as I know there isn't a big religious element to any of the major parties like there is in the US, so their religion wouldn't make them choose one over another.

side note, finally watching the latest video, (is this the fashion now?) she just looks like a 90s/early2000s chav ( I understand maybe this is offensive, and I am sorry if it is) but she doesn't seem to have a personal style still

This is hilarious because I'm born in 88 and thought the exact same thing- those big gold hoops and the chain :ROFLMAO:

haha I agree. I dont mind that she has her own style but she put on a black jumpsuit and she looked so beautiful and next shot her dungarees.. I makes her look so.. awkward.
Wasn't necessarily on about her clothes although most of the stuff she wears I don't like, she doesn't make the most of herself, was talking about how she's speaking emphasising certain words and the dancing and stuff cringe inducing.

Her latest TikTok... She makes such a point of being fine about being single and what not, and encourages others to feel the same (which I really applaud her for!), but god she goes on about it an awful lot! And suggesting she’s not “thriving” like everyone else around her is... that kind of goes against everything she usually preaches, no? I really hope she’s ok!

I wish she would do diff things. Like her own recipes?
Or like a week of meals using one unique item as the main ingredient and seeing how many different things you can do. She's creative and has time and would spice it up, do a series of baking without a recipe like The Try Guys are doing. Work her way round european desserts.. just SOMETHING new.

She's lovely but unless she needs to find something that could make her money/a living if this all goes tits up in a few years.

I don't think she would. Jesse and her sister (whose name I suddenly can't remember lol) don't seem to have gone on missions, and they're less of a thing with the younger generation who are quite aware of the issues with 'voluntourism' and all that.
I don't think it's much of a thing anymore,. It used to be an opportunity to travel, people would use it like a gap year. The people I know from church who do still go come from very specific families, where the parents are vicars or other roles within the church for actual work. As much as the Booth family do feel quite insular, they do have actual jobs and let their kids go get degrees and other jobs, and when you show people they have other options, missions are not as appealing. They might take up opportunities to be sunday school teachers or run local youth groups instead (this is what I did), and this seems to be what Grace was doing?

I think three years is stupid too, but I grew up with tons of Christians, and all of them had an engagement of around 9 months to a year, so 3-4 months just seems super quick and I was surprised.
Yeah, I thought it was insanely quick! Even her moving out and getting engaged and now married has all happened in what, less than a year? Has she married another Christian? No hate towards religion (I personally am not in the slightest) but I suppose if they're happy 🤷
I feel like Jesse will have a longer engagement though?

Birth control is totally allowed in most sects of Christianity these days - the Church of England has been cool with it since the 1930s and most other ones follow suit. It's not allowed in Catholicism however (obviously personal experiences may differ).

Also, Christians these days aren't enforcing that women are second rate beings unless they're extremely fundamental
I had a whole reply and I lost it. While most churches won’t come out and say it, you’re right, evangelical churches like the kind Grace belongs to view women as equal only if they live up to strictly expected roles - be feminine, get married, have kids. They might not say “women are less” but the standards for being a “godly” women are quite constrictive. Men have standards, sure, but they have more wiggle room. A man’s purpose isn’t to be a father, but a woman’s purpose is viewed as wife and mother. Single men often have roles in the church, single women almost never.

I think as well she constantly gets asked about boyfriends, well it seems that way in her Q&A's. Hope she is okay though!
I also don't think it is even a big deal at her age? I had my first boyfriend at 21, and also I imagine as someone relgious like her it is usually later (without even considering lockdown...) I hope she doesn't feel bad about it

I suppose baking is her niche though like how some YouTubers feature fashion/makeup in every video hers is food and baking. I'm sat doing nothing most days (unemployed life lol) struggling to find things to do so I can imagine the pressure when shes also got an audience to entertain. There really is only so many content ideas whilst we're in lockdown I'm finding every influencer I follow getting repetitive at the moment. I guess it's their job to be creative and think outside the box but I feel like most people they're just trying to get through it and out the other side

she's so refreshing on youtube so just watched her new vlog - is it a normal thing for people to try clothes on while testing positive?? you can't exactly wash the clothes when sending back / receiving them with tags and such, so is it not a bit irresponsible with us knowing less about new variants?? maybe i'm just being paranoid idk
I defeinitely wouldn't do it, but apparently clothes that you send back are often just sent to landfill (not sure where she has bought stuff from I haven't seen the video but I think this is generlaly the case for cheaper places (asos etc)
