Idk if this is harsh but her mother really annoys me sometimes. Especially when trying the food she makes. Obvs everyone has an opinion but her dad is always like I guess the encouraging one and he’s funny af ahah but her mum seems very critical which is shown in Grace though which I kinda like that grace critiques things and has a proper opinion on what she likes and dislikes

Anyone watch Underrated Hijabi? I just found her and her channel is new but growing really fast and her content is pretty similar to some of what Grace/Taz have done, similar energy, confident, does a lot of eating x food for a day, takeaway challenges (she recently did a video letting the workers pick her meal like Grace) , just vibing in her car. If you really like grace you will probably like her also.

I wonder if she's a bit disappointed with how her channel is going in general? I wonder if she was a bit upset about her whole grackle tries thing, that turned into something quite underwhelming. As in, it didn't get many views. They were some of her least watched videos. She put a lot of effort into it, and for it to end up not doing well must have been upsetting for her. Like.. finally try something new, people don't like it. I would have been upset myself. I wish she hadn't given up so quickly though. I think being on YT has come very easily for her. She never had to push and grind that hard and it's starting to show now. Some creators have really had to hussle a lot to get to where they are now, but she got popular very quickly. I think when something doesn't work she quickly drops it and goes back to her safe space. It's really sad actually because I think she really enjoyed that short series a lot. If it's something she likes, why not keep doing it? Just stick with it. It takes a while for people to start picking things up, for you to get a new fresh audience who likes you for that special kind of content. That's just how things work on youtube, you constantly have to try and evolve or else people run away and nobody new will come in return. That is how some people (like Jenn Im for example) have been able to stick with YT for such a long time.
You see the same thing with the old brit cew. It came to them so easily, they are all failing right now because they are not able to hussle and work for it. It's pretty sad because they have some of the easiest jobs in the world.

I think the Grackle tries series was a great idea but because the things she tried aren’t really out of her scope and completely different from what she’s used to, that’s where it failed. I think it could have been successful if she really went out of her comfort zone and done something that she’s never done before. And embrace the fact that she might not be that good first try, she will be a beginner, while having fun and learning. The things she tried are ok but it was not make for entertainment value.
It’s a shame because I was really hoping for something really good.

She’s spending quite a bit of money lately. That pallet £600 then recently she showed a, frankly amazing, capsule wardrobe service where a box is like £400!!!
I get she has likely no bills to pay but she must make some good cash from YouTube to afford these things.
I have a good paying full time job and I’d never in my right mind pay £400 for a box of clothes

How? It’s the same one who does Zoe sugg’s hair and I always think she does a terrible job on all her clients for the prices she charges but maybe my view is tainted because I have seen Sam around for a long time

I've never heard of the hairdresser and don't follow anything by Zoe Sugg either so I have no preconceptions about the stylist but the reason I like it is the highlights are really subtle, which suits Grace

Oh bless her! I think she's a naturally pretty person. The fact that she doesn't want or need to wear make up is refreshing in my eyes. I have never had acne but I'm sure it was a shitty time for her with comments like that. Hope she feels better now but it's a shame!

On a general note though, does anyone else think Grace seems a bit down at the moment? I can’t pinpoint it but she seemed super happy at the start of the year and now just doesn’t seem herself? I had been thinking maybe she was dating someone but it didn’t work out? I don’t know..could be reading too much into things

I feel like they rushed buying a home. She doesn’t really fit in the kitchen everything seems kinda “ it’ll do for now” which is fine but w her sort of money I would’ve expected the home to be a little more done in terms of the appliances and stuff she has to lean to use the stove like bend her back

I believe in isolating in the house, viral load theory comes into play. Why give them a larger exposure than they’ve already had

So what would be your suggestion of what she should do then? This is why this entire isolation thing is bullshit at the moment. Her parents are most definitely doubled vaxxed by now and Grace will have had 1 if not both doses. Her parents are teachers and can't take time off just to isolate to make it easier to follow the rules. Entire families can't all isolate when one person gets infected or society will turn to shit. Realistically, we don't need to be taking isolation as seriously as we did before the vaccine - just reducing as much contact as necessary during that time.

It’s again the thing where Grace herself makes a thing of something that doesn’t need to be a thing.

If she’d just been in her house as normal, even spending most time in her room without the “I’m confined to my bedroom” chat, I don’t think anyone would have commented on it. It’s the way she says one thing then is shown doing another. (See the door being wide open, banksy in and out.) The same with her and Honour keeping distance but not, the dairy allergy that was a focus then suddenly eating dairy etc, there’s a real pattern of it with Grace.

Her parents do still currently legally have to self isolate, so if schools were open they’d be off work but I still don’t see the point of her isolating from them within her own house when she’s tested positive and has been around them.

If she was a close contact of someone and was isolating for that reason, it would make more sense to me to isolate herself within the house as far as possible.

I think we can still be delighted and excited for her AND feel iffy about the religious aspect of dating/marriage that multiple religions follow. Nobody can dispute how happy she is now though. As I mentioned earlier, I’m Jewish and question the borderline arranged marriage aspect of dating among really religious Jews. Not saying that’s what’s happened with Grace at all btw. I think any influencer thread would be full of discussions if they got engaged to someone they didn’t know a few months ago.

Most graduation ceremonies only allow each graduate to bring 2 guests, so for Grace to go it definitely had to be her bf!

Me too. To be fair I think I’m holding her to a higher standard than other youtubers which is my bad, but she was always so vocal about how she wouldn’t do it and didn’t want to sell out that it’s jarring to see her seemingly starting.

She seems to be pretty active, and also I think she tends to try a lot of snacks and new food in her videos but her meals always look well balanced and I have seen in previous videos that she eats a lot of fruit and veg as well. I guess that’s just not as interesting in a video. I think as well that although she’s tall and slim she has a healthy appearance, she doesn’t look overly gaunt in the face or have puffiness and she doesn’t have a grey sickly look about her. I just think she got lucky with her metabolism! Also I think as well that she seems to have done a good job of avoiding a lot of diet culture and food shame which is probably why her metabolism is good, pretty sure slimming world completed effed mine up!

What did everyone think of her returns pallet video? I weirdly enjoyed Mia Maples’ returns pallet videos recently (I say weirdly because it’s not something I expected I’d like watching) but I feel like Grace’s just falls flat for some reason. It pains me to say it because I used to love every video she made but this one is mostly out of focus, kind of disorganised and the audio is really bad.

At this point I see more of her kitchen than mine I feel as though she’s stuck in a rut. To be honest, even if she just got a part time job at a bakery or something I think her content would be 10X more relatable and would give her some sense of routine. This girl literally makes a deal out of going to the supermarket like that’s the only thing on her to do list that day! She clearly doesn’t need the money but there’s no shame in working for a social life. I have two children and a husband I’m only a few years older than Grace and I’m currently studying part time too, I’m fortunate enough that financially I don’t need to work but I felt so isolated having nobody to talk to and so I got a part time job for the social aspect and sense of routine and it’s changed my life
