I've been watching Grace since early lockdown and generally love her videos, although there was a period where I found them a bit over the top (but then again, I'm in my mid-thirties, so not the audience). I fully respect her choice not to reveal private stuff about her life but I feel like this "half in, half out" is making for weirdly flat, personality-less videos in the last six months or so. I've seen some people say it's a running out of content thing (I do miss all the early lockdown themed stuff) but I think it's more that it's so limiting to pretend to be talking about your life without actually revealing anything. I'm not saying we would need details about her relationships or her family etc but she's so guarded about even vague things (ie, possible future plans, her activities beyond Starbucks and grocery shopping, heck, even the details of being a YouTuber/influencer ) that it makes it harder to connect with her. Even someone like Taz is far more open. I get the impression that it's not necessarily even a privacy issue, just trying to broaden her appeal as much as possible, and maybe compensate for potentially polarizing things, like being religious. .She was one of the first vloggers I got into and it was because she was original, quirky, and so much of her personality came through on her earlier vlogs, most of which have been made private.

Before anyone jumps on me, yes, I understand she now has a lot of followers now and yes, I get that she doesn't owe us anything. But I honestly would be surprised if she doesn't wrap up in the next year or so.

I think the issue is that Grace doesn't have the material to make exclusively non-vloging videos - ie, she doesn't have too full of a life. She lives at home, doesn't work outside of YouTube, and hasn't really shared any hopes or dreams (beyond being able to travel a bit more). I do think her efforts to conceal details about her life are partially about privacy (ie, her boyfriend) but I think a large part of it is trying to have as broad of an appeal as possible. I can't blame her for being cautious, she got really big really fast, but I think the "half online, half not" has to be very intentional to be done well.
Exactly this, the only way you can really keep your personal life out of a channel is if the channel has another theme, whether that be cooking, money saving, fishing..whatever but her channel is just based on her

She also mentioned in her latest tiktok caption that she's going to France soon
I would legitimately be interested in seeing content from this, I hope she posts several videos and doesn't do the whole "and then I did X and here were are back in my kitchen" thing

Honestly it wouldn't surprise me is constantly chasing the AD money is what is making most of the Influencers miserable. They start because they want to make videos and they just follow their passions and then they get completely lost just doing whatever makes them money and they don't know who they are because they are not making the decisions, their favourite companies are just the ones that sponsor and gift them stuff and it takes away their autonomy.
I think vast swathes of "influencers" thought it would be really easy. They saw people just chatting into a camera, and getting loads of money and free stuff. The market's oversaturated, so it's not enough to just do some casual vlogging anymore and casually mention some product, they have to actually do work to make ads now- they need to plan it, write it, shoot it properly, edit it, on top of their usual editing and stuff like thumbnails and SEO stuff. For some people, this extra stuff comes naturally, some work really hard at it. Some people just don't want to bother, and those people are becoming more and more obvious.

Yes, all of this. How many times can you make flapjacks?

I know I don't have to watch, but I'm actually starting to really feel for her. I doubt she's going anywhere but I honestly think quitting YouTube would be really good for her. If not quitting, at least putting it to the side while she picks up a job or a hobby -she's barely releasing two very chill videos a week these days, how much time do you really need to do that?
yeah I don't understand why she never seems to make up her own recipes, surely she should be able to do that seeing as she has studied a degree in baking? I have said it before but she really needs ot get a job outside of youtube, I think working in the food industry in any capacity would be useful for her, and there are so many vacancies atm

I also thought it was weird she mentioned going to the shop for sanitary pads AGAIN, sounded like she was just saying it so nobody could say anything about the amount of times she goes to the shop

She's said a few times that her mum doesn't like being on camera and I think you can really tell - I suspect that's where her mum's snippiness comes from. She does seem to respect her friends not being on camera but often it comes across a bit like she doesn't really respect that with her mum, I get the impression her mum doesn't really agree that not filming her face is following her wishes.
Her only job is youtube and the kitchen seems to be the spot she does a lot of filming, I imagine it's not always easy when you live with other people and very often have a camera in an area of the house that's also frequented by your family. Though I do think if she really wanted to her mum could tell her the common areas of the house are off limits to filming (but then she'd probably have to move out)

RUDDY HELL. My dad was a Headmaster.. he wasn't on anything like that.. is he at a private school?
No, he's the executive principal at a large academy school on an island on the east coast. it's a long drive from Grace's family home. From what I can tell the school is 'failing' and has seen lots of resignations and he has been brought in to turn it around, and get it up to standard. it sounds like he's doing the role of both the executive and the headmaster and also appears to have been the headmaster and executive principal in various schools for at least 14 years so it's not surprising he's been on such a good salary. there's loads of articles about him out there.

Honor is not popular on this forum - I think a lot of people find her irritating! I was personally quite taken aback at how... posey her Instagram is (she loves an eye f*ck!)... she's a beautiful girl but it makes me cringe.
Grace seems very loving and it's so sweet that she sends her friends gifts and bakes them goods. I hope they reciprocate that love and care. To me it is suspicious that Honor is on the vlogs more, especially now that she has a radio show going on (from what I gathered from her insta).

I really liked the Lidl bakery video, now that she eats dairy she can try many popular items and give a more knowledgeable review due to her background in baking. And of course Papa Booth always cracks me up!

Obviously though, Christians are no longer having 14 children like my great grandparents generation did so they are using contraception nowadays, as Grace's family must be doing, there's only 3 Booth children, after all
Not necessarily tbf, I’ve been with my husband since I was 18, I’m now 26 and in all of the years we’ve been together we’ve rarely used contraception (not for religious reasons at all, both of us are atheists, just cba with contraception) and I’ve never become pregnant from it, I had to take the morning after pill one time and that was it.
It’s quite easy to do if you’re careful, just pull out and we don’t have sex during the window where it’s most likely that I’d become pregnant lol.

Wasn't necessarily on about her clothes although most of the stuff she wears I don't like, she doesn't make the most of herself, was talking about how she's speaking emphasising certain words and the dancing and stuff cringe inducing.
It seemed to have come naturally to her at the beginning now it’s so forced!

Oh bless her! I think she's a naturally pretty person. The fact that she doesn't want or need to wear make up is refreshing in my eyes. I have never had acne but I'm sure it was a shitty time for her with comments like that. Hope she feels better now but it's a shame!
i have never had them either and this really opened my eyes about how people must feel about it. on the other hand, i've never found someone to be ''ugly'' because of their skin condition... people can be so unbelievably mean. i agree she's a stunning girl with or without makeup :) very refreshing to see her feeling confident without it. i wish i had that kind of confidence! 🥰

Unpopular opinion but i think somtimes her family r quite rude theres several videos grace has put in much effort and research then they shoot her down one comes to mine is that eating like the ww2 diet where her mum constantly corrects her theres other examples too and it just comes off rude and u can tell grace feels awkward as well maybe its not in that way and it just comes across on camara as different but there far from this happy clappy family they potray

Saaammeeeeee i turned off half way through. So flat, watching her in her kitchen was fine during lockdown since we were all doing the same (most of us anyway!) but now there’s so much she could be doing it’s just so boring to watch.
Agreed. She doesn't feel relatable anymore... Most of us are back in work and can't afford to dilly dally around supermarkets all day.

I would love to see her do a new series that uses her platform for good - visit social enterprise bakeries or spread awareness of common food allergies and their alternatives, but for the love of god please get out your kitchen! 🤣

Sorry for the double post. But man, her views have really gone downhill. A year ago she would pull more than 200k easily, she can't/barely hit 100k these days. If that's not telling I don't know what is.

Yes, I really felt for her. She seemed so confident when her acne was quite bad, just shows, you never know what's going in other people's minds. People who make mean spirited and nasty comments about people are really just awful, bad people.

I really enjoy watching her videos, with her wholesome family, their love of food/cooking/baking, how Grace is always trying new things/pushing herself. Her videos are always really fun and relaxing to watch!

Perhaps she could be a GBBO presenter one day 👩🏻‍🍳

I wonder what her ultimate goal is for her career, if she’s thought that far ahead?
I'd love to see her actually do something rather than just be a YouTuber. I think it would be a real waste if she didn't.
