I was watching a video of Graces yesterday and I’m passing she mentioned her dad living in America I think? She’s also mentioned him living in the Philippines. Her dad has obviously lived a life and I’m sure he would encourage Grace to do the same. I had my first daughter at 16 (11 years ago!) I was a single parent from the start but I worked my arse off and I now live away from the UK I’ve had a good job and am now retraining as something completely different at university and I’m married with another daughter, I also lived away from my partner for almost two years. I hope Grace manages to achieve everything she wants to in life (I have a soft spot for her I dunno why haha) whether that be alone or with her new boyfriend. I’m not saying she should get pregnant straight away or married etc but what I’m trying to say is, having a baby or getting married doesn’t limit your life. She could still go and live in New York with her partner or long distance. She can still travel the world or pursue career aspirations with kids, it’s not the end of your life when you have children, it just makes life a little more…busy 😂
that sounds like he was a missionary.

In regards to the conversation above, I don't think that anyone is saying she's TOO YOUNG to settle down (although she might be), it's just that she seems so childish. I thinking living on your own or with flatmates can be really beneficial, but it's not just the living on your own. She's clearly never had to budget, never had any bills (maybe a cellphone? maybe?), hasn't done anything with her degree, appears to have done virtually no travelling on her own, has thousands of followers and uses that to talk about outfits and Starbucks (although that might be an act, I think she used to be medially intelligent), appears to have a very childish relationship with her parents (nothing wrong with being close, but the NY video with her mom was hard to watcH). I think it will be a bit of a shame if transitions right into stay-at-home wife and mom, although at least Mommy content would be more interesting.

I also wouldn't be surprised if she just quits the internet when she's married. Her heart clearly isn't in it.

I always think this too! I think she could be really successful at a more professional/tutorial sort of channel with a completely different audience. It’s not like she’s not qualified. And then keep her silly challenges/Tik Tok trend bakes for Grackle.
yeah , I also think a lot of youtubers just kind of become boring after stopping work (not that I am saying she will, but it does make it harder

Says a lot when your thread has no comments for over a month....have we all stopped watching 😂
I think her non rave thread gets posted in regularly. I don’t often have much to say about her because overall I still really like her and her content.

I enjoyed her latest video on the Pullman train - it’s nice to see an influencer review something for the fun of it and not because they’re getting paid.

I don't think there is any reason for concern with Grace, I think the main reason she is filming at home or on her own so much is more because she's made a decision to not film her friends, rather than the fact that she's isolated and not doing much. Her channel has grown so much that I can understand her not wanting to expose her friends and family to comment on the internet

I've been watching Grace since early lockdown and generally love her videos, although there was a period where I found them a bit over the top (but then again, I'm in my mid-thirties, so not the audience). I fully respect her choice not to reveal private stuff about her life but I feel like this "half in, half out" is making for weirdly flat, personality-less videos in the last six months or so. I've seen some people say it's a running out of content thing (I do miss all the early lockdown themed stuff) but I think it's more that it's so limiting to pretend to be talking about your life without actually revealing anything. I'm not saying we would need details about her relationships or her family etc but she's so guarded about even vague things (ie, possible future plans, her activities beyond Starbucks and grocery shopping, heck, even the details of being a YouTuber/influencer ) that it makes it harder to connect with her. Even someone like Taz is far more open. I get the impression that it's not necessarily even a privacy issue, just trying to broaden her appeal as much as possible, and maybe compensate for potentially polarizing things, like being religious. .She was one of the first vloggers I got into and it was because she was original, quirky, and so much of her personality came through on her earlier vlogs, most of which have been made private.

Before anyone jumps on me, yes, I understand she now has a lot of followers now and yes, I get that she doesn't owe us anything. But I honestly would be surprised if she doesn't wrap up in the next year or so.

I hope everything is well for her however it not, I do think it will be a lesson that she can't live her life half online and half not . . .

I don't know if anyone watches Mia Maples but she seems to have a full life outside YouTube but very rarely mentions it. She made a video making a picnic where she announced she had a serious boyfriend and a few (unrelated) videos later she was engaged. She's blurred his face and not shared his name. Her videos are definitely different to Grace making it easier for her to hide that side of her life, however, Grace is equally in full editorial control and can edit anything out as required.
I think the issue is that Grace doesn't have the material to make exclusively non-vloging videos - ie, she doesn't have too full of a life. She lives at home, doesn't work outside of YouTube, and hasn't really shared any hopes or dreams (beyond being able to travel a bit more). I do think her efforts to conceal details about her life are partially about privacy (ie, her boyfriend) but I think a large part of it is trying to have as broad of an appeal as possible. I can't blame her for being cautious, she got really big really fast, but I think the "half online, half not" has to be very intentional to be done well.

Loved the taste test video with papa booth. But let’s be fair.. he saved it haha.
What’s with the ‘innit’ every 5 mins though? We did that back in 2002. Wasn’t cool then. Isn’t now.

I’m sorry but in her new vlog saying she signed up for a stained glass window making class.. tell me u have too much time on ur hands without telling us
I'm in my early 30s and I love stained glass. My parents' home has beautiful stained glass windows, and stained glass is very popular around here, even among younger people. Few years ago i got my mother a very beautiful stained glass butterfly, handmade by an artist, it's stunning when the sunlight hits it just right. I would love to make stained glass ornaments or windows. It's actually really difficult and very very very expensive. It's not something to look down upon.

I think she comes across as a nice homely youtuber. I have like nothing in common with her but just put her on in the background as it feels like I'm part of a family. Does anybody know if she does alot of excercise? The amount she eats in a day compared to how thin she is just makes absolutely no sense to me. I'm probably double her size and get nowhere near the amount of calories she consumes in a day, it's probably my jealousy talking right 🤣
Omg it makes me so jealous too lmao. She eats like twice as much as me yet I'm over twice her size hahahahaha. I've never known someone snack so much and all that constant, delicious cake 😂 It's difficult because people will watch her and think there's something wrong with them because they can't eat like that and stay Grace's size, but that's not her fault just nature I guess.

I’ve just read the previous page and I’m baffled as to what you’re on about tbh. For a start you’re booting off at the wrong person, secondly, no one even said that Grace had an eating disorder in the first place? It sort of seems like you’re projecting a bit here.
Thank you.
And exactly, nobody here mentioned that in the first place. I think their ED is speaking here. I even said I love that she eats like a normal person. I just don't agree with people who say she eats large portion sizes, to me she does not. That has nothing to do with disordered eating, it's just something I observe. I'm not saying she has to eat other portions. If this is what she enjoy that's totally fine and her decision. I just don't agree with people who glorify her portion sizes.

One of her big ambitions is to have a big family though. She's always saying she literally can't wait to get pregnant and have a family. She seems ready for it so it may be sooner than expected.
I feel like it would be such a shame for her to miss out on all of her pre-covid plans like living in NYC for a bit. Realistically a new boyfriend isn't going to be a part of that adventure and it would be very difficult to do it if she were to start a family too. Personally idk if she's ready to take care of another human having never even lived away from home (obviously lots of girls end up in that situation too but it usually isn't planned).

Yes, all of this. How many times can you make flapjacks?

I know I don't have to watch, but I'm actually starting to really feel for her. I doubt she's going anywhere but I honestly think quitting YouTube would be really good for her. If not quitting, at least putting it to the side while she picks up a job or a hobby -she's barely releasing two very chill videos a week these days, how much time do you really need to do that?

I think the reason she stopped doing what I eat in a day videos is because of comments like this, I think she mentioned in a few videos how horrible it is for people to assume that she has an eating disorder when she doesn't. (btw this isn't meant as an attack on your comment personally, this is just a general comment)
I think so too. I also reckon people don’t realise how tall she is because her parents/siblings are also fairly tall so on video they just look “normal” height if that makes sense. It’s only when she used to do collabs with Taz or others who are more average height that you could tell how tall Grace is.

I am really happy for her. I think she kept it private but not secret but I knew there was someone on the scene. She seems so much more sure of herself nowadays I think since he has been around.
