Fortunately enough for myself, me and my tiny brain are able to process the bullsh*t in your pro-obesity argument and it won’t fly here unfortunately. Like I said, you can’t argue that being overweight is healthy. So yes, to an extent size CAN be synonymous with health. Don’t push a nonsense narrative that increasing clothing size ranges doesn’t to an extent facilitate the encouragement and acceptance of obesity. Being body positive shouldn’t negate the NECESSITY of healthy body and if you’re more worried about clothes on the rack than longterm health issues then of course more pressing matters in the world aren’t really a concern to you. THAT sounds like a privilege. You’ve completely missed the point. You’re a size 14/16 - of COURSE you don’t struggle to find clothes. I quite specifically said that most stores do not carry anything past a size 16.
This point about “being better off losing weight” is absolutely ridiculous. As I said before, if women do decide to start a weight loss journey, what are they supposed to wear in the meantime? You’re the one showing your privilege now as you’re ignoring the fact that you don’t go from a size 20 to a 14 overnight (Not if you want it to be sustainable).
Your argument lost all credibility when you decided to rely on the lazy idea that weight is synonymous with health.
What’s it to me? Well I have an opinion and this is an opinion forum soooo... I said before it’s not enforceable but maybe these skinny influencers butchering plus size clothes could think about the fact that the plus size market is disappearing. It’s these people that are entitled, not me.
Yep there’s people dying in the world but still the whole of Tattle are talking about trivial stuff your tiny brain might not be able to cope with thinking about more than one issue at once but mine sure can. Empathy and sympathy is not a zero-sum game. I can be concerned about the state of the fashion industry AND more serious issues.
What is lazy about taking charge of your health and bettering yourself? I myself am overweight for my age/height and it’s not a bed of roses, so who the hell would rather stay at a size 20+ just to make a point rather than try to lose weight? I’ll wait.
In the meantime, those who are on a weight loss journey will wear what the hell they have been wearing because as you said you won’t go from a 20 to a 14 overnight and they certainly are not investing in vintage pieces that will eventually be TOO BIG... this brings us back full circle, so tell me will you be outraged that a former overweight individual has customised their vintage piece to make it fit them at their new smaller size? Hmm. Tricky one there, wouldn’t want them to offend the likes of delusional people like you.
Succinctly put, thank youWhilst I do get where you’re coming from I need to jump on one of your points...
Being as morbidly obese as grace is, is not healthy. Fact. Being obese full stop is not healthy. That’s not a lazy idea, that’s being realistic.
