You’ve completely missed the point. You’re a size 14/16 - of COURSE you don’t struggle to find clothes. I quite specifically said that most stores do not carry anything past a size 16.

This point about “being better off losing weight” is absolutely ridiculous. As I said before, if women do decide to start a weight loss journey, what are they supposed to wear in the meantime? You’re the one showing your privilege now as you’re ignoring the fact that you don’t go from a size 20 to a 14 overnight (Not if you want it to be sustainable).

Your argument lost all credibility when you decided to rely on the lazy idea that weight is synonymous with health.

What’s it to me? Well I have an opinion and this is an opinion forum soooo... I said before it’s not enforceable but maybe these skinny influencers butchering plus size clothes could think about the fact that the plus size market is disappearing. It’s these people that are entitled, not me.

Yep there’s people dying in the world but still the whole of Tattle are talking about trivial stuff 🙄 your tiny brain might not be able to cope with thinking about more than one issue at once but mine sure can. Empathy and sympathy is not a zero-sum game. I can be concerned about the state of the fashion industry AND more serious issues.
Fortunately enough for myself, me and my tiny brain are able to process the bullsh*t in your pro-obesity argument and it won’t fly here unfortunately. Like I said, you can’t argue that being overweight is healthy. So yes, to an extent size CAN be synonymous with health. Don’t push a nonsense narrative that increasing clothing size ranges doesn’t to an extent facilitate the encouragement and acceptance of obesity. Being body positive shouldn’t negate the NECESSITY of healthy body and if you’re more worried about clothes on the rack than longterm health issues then of course more pressing matters in the world aren’t really a concern to you. THAT sounds like a privilege.

What is lazy about taking charge of your health and bettering yourself? I myself am overweight for my age/height and it’s not a bed of roses, so who the hell would rather stay at a size 20+ just to make a point rather than try to lose weight? I’ll wait.

In the meantime, those who are on a weight loss journey will wear what the hell they have been wearing because as you said you won’t go from a 20 to a 14 overnight and they certainly are not investing in vintage pieces that will eventually be TOO BIG... this brings us back full circle, so tell me will you be outraged that a former overweight individual has customised their vintage piece to make it fit them at their new smaller size? Hmm. Tricky one there, wouldn’t want them to offend the likes of delusional people like you.

Whilst I do get where you’re coming from I need to jump on one of your points...

Being as morbidly obese as grace is, is not healthy. Fact. Being obese full stop is not healthy. That’s not a lazy idea, that’s being realistic.
Succinctly put, thank 👏🏽 you 👏🏽

I used to follow but had to unfollow due to the healing mambo jambo. She is a classic case of Insta v real life. Her feed as it stands at the moment is all ‘calm, peace and complete togetherness‘. That’s just not real life, for anyone. Real life is early mornings, jobs, stress, kids, bills, mess- just normal imperfect stuff. It’s like someone I know who preaches about being woke and meditation but sadly they are a closet alcoholic. It’s just a form of self denial and it means nothing until they get to the root cause. She can’t preach about balance and healing and training to help others when she is in denial and using avoidance tactics regarding the fact that she has a food addiction and is morbidly obese.

The weight of any body but my own doesn’t bother me. Perhaps you should redirect this question at the post I was responding to as they believe that slim people have to follow a code of conduct when buying clothes or those repeatedly make sweeping judgements and conclusions about Grace because of her weight / appearance.

I just don’t agree with suggesting that slim people can’t buy oversized clothes and diy them because maybe another person who fits that size, would want that item - makes plus sized people seem delusional and entitled. Life doesn’t work like that unfortunately and I especially don’t agree with those that say losing weight (when you are suffering from the negatives of obesity) is not the answer to bettering health.

Hope that cleared it up for you.

There’s a lot of fatphobia and straw man arguments going on over here. Politely, I think we should get back to talking about Grace.

Personally I’d rather criticise her lying about her weight than her actual weight, if you see what I mean. It’s her lies about her clothing size and her delusion about the fact that her health issues are not related to her weight gain, rather than her weight itself, that’s the problem.

Or we could go bto discussing how short her bum crack is! :ROFLMAO:

There’s overweight and there’s super morbidly obese. You only have to watch My 600lb Life to see the truth of the health implications and how far in denial they can be, which I see Grace being in (aswell as that Tess Holiday or whatever her name is). Posting naked pictures on the internet and preaching body positivity means NOTHING. People cheer you on but at the end of the day, YOU are left with yourself, your health problems and your depression. It’s a pointless fabrication. She doesnt need therapy, she needs diet, exercise and bariatric surgery. On My 600lb Life, the specialist said once they’ve overeaten for a long time, the stomach is stretched and they never feel full, it becomes a vicious cycle. That’s why bariatric surgery becomes the only option. Reduce stomach size. And it’s tough! With the weight loss they’re left with loose skin= more surgeries. She’s gone too far to pretend she’s learning to accept herself as a curvy girl. I’m wondering if she is big enough to go on that show.

I agree that someone of Grace’s size is not necessarily healthy. But you can’t deny that the notion of being overweight is so problematic - BMI charts are not representative of health, muscle weighs more than fat etc. Rugby players are classed as overweight going by metrics and they’re clearly very fit and physically healthy.

Yawn. I’m not pro-obesity. Are you pro-ana? See, your opinion that fat people are offensive doesn’t necessarily mean you take it to the extreme. Weight 👏🏼 is not 👏🏼 an indicator 👏🏼 of health 👏🏼

I don’t know why you’re ignoring my answers just to ask the same questions again? Have you never noticed that a size 12 in one shop is a size 16 in another? What happens when someone can’t fit into their usual size 16 (because of such discrepancies in sizes across stores) - can they not buy a size 20 because then they would be “promoting obesity”? Again, health is not the same as body size. A size 8 woman is not necessarily healthier than a size 18 and you can absolutely not pretend that this is the case for all women.

I’m absolutely NOT more worried about this than other pressing issues. I literally just said I can be concerned about more than one thing at once!? Funnily enough this is a thread about an influencer, not the pandemic or famine or human trafficking. With your theory that means you are not bothered about those things because you’re also on here 🤔

Where did I say it was lazy to better yourself? I’LL wait. I clearly outlined what is lazy - the idea that weight is always synonymous with health.

So someone on a weight loss journey will be wearing size 22 jeans while they lose weight and get smaller? The. Jeans. Would. Be. Too. Big. But if we don’t have plus size clothes then they can’t buy a size 20. Or 18 when they get to that stage. You’re literally taking the idea of someone “bettering themselves” as you said, and denying them the right to buy clothes until they’ve reached what you deem a normal size.

The simple fact is there’s no need for a size 12 girl to buy a size 22 vintage t shirt and cut it up/make it into a dress/whatever. They should just buy a vintage size 12 t shirt or dress. There’s obviously way more range of smaller sizes in the vintage market.

Why have you created this character in your head who was a larger size and is now smaller and has customised bigger clothes? And you call me delusional. Maybe focus on what’s actually real, and that was the original point of a slimmer girl cutting up clothes made for fat people. Literally nothing you say makes sense and I’m sure the whole thread is getting very bored of this back and forth, so I won’t entertain any more of your irrelevant bullshit.

It’s a weird one because it’s so difficult to see how big she actually is. She’s so good at distorting herself and creating more flattering angles in pics. I suppose the naked pic shows her frame is naturally much smaller.

I think in order to really feel like the peace healing self improvement schtick is real I would love to see Grace do a sit down video or blogpost about why so many of her friendships with people have broken down over the years. What’s interesting is she’ll supposedly get “personal” and “taboo” and tackle what she considers to be difficult topics, but it’s kind of a mask. Half naked photos and period chats are fair enough but that’s what would actually be super interesting.

“How do you know a size 8 is healthier than someone at a size 18” 🙄🙄🙄 Classic line that is always always said by people who are ridiculously overweight. No ones saying a size 18 person isn’t healthy, but if someone is the size grace is aka clinically morbidly obese, then yes I’m sorry to break it to you, but she is not healthier or as healthy as someone who is a size 8. Come on now stop trying to push this bullshit

This is getting a bit silly now.

Nobody actually said Grace is as healthy or healthier than a size 8 woman, did they? Yet that’s what you’re arguing?

In fact, in the post by @carmencarmen that you quoted, she AGREED that Grace’s size is not necessarily healthy, and you agreed about her comparing a size 18 to a size 8, saying “no-one is saying a size 18 isn’t healthy”. So I’m afraid your argument is based on a falsehood and makes little sense. Maybe look at the bullshit you’re trying to push first?

We can all agree that Grace looks uncomfortable and that she is too big for her frame. We can all agree that being obese, particularly morbidly obese, increases the likelihood of someone experiencing certain health problems and diseases.

We can also all agree that Grace is a messed-up, problematic liar and that’s what we’re here to discuss. That, and her weirdly short bum crack.

My point was that you can’t say that everyone that is classed as overweight is unhealthy. Weird that you quoted “how do you know a size 18 is healthier than someone at a size 6” when that is clearly not what I said. Lmaaaao this thread is full of people who love to twist other people’s words.

Appreciate that this is a thread about Grace but my comment is about people in general, not her. Obviously she is carrying a lot of excess weight which isn’t healthy BUT the statement that everyone classed as overweight is unhealthy is clearly not true, or helpful to anyone. Having said that maybe we should let the thread get back to talking about the actual topic.

Irrespective of her size if anyone is this exhausted so often, especially whilst doing less than the average person, they should seriously speak to their GP and have tests arranged... she’s probably actually unwell
