I went through a very similar situation as Charleigh, however I lost two of my loved ones on the ventilator. During waiting, I didn’t post anything because I didn’t want to talk about it, it as simple as that in my opinion 🤷🏽‍♀️
I am sending you my deepest condolences for the loss of your loved ones.

But that statement is true of influencer culture in general - the whole culture is manipulative and needs to end. It’s up to us, as decent human beings, to know that it would be inappropriate to feel liked you are owed something from a family who are going through such a terrifying time.
Exactly. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I had a baby 12 days before Grace and I CANNOT imagine waking up and I have missed nearly 3 months of my baby’s life.
The teeny tiny squishy stage, first smiles, learning my baby’s cues, yes the sleepless nights are rough but you soon miss those middle of the night cuddles. The newborn stage is so amazing especially with your first! I feel so so sad for her, surely it’s going to have such a big impact on her mentally? Maybe right now she’ll just be happy to be alive for her baby but it might get her later on 💔😔
this is what I can’t stop thinking about. Poor mama, how do you deal with the emotional trauma of missing the newborn period? Only being able to look back at the first 3 months of your babies life in photos and videos? It breaks my heart for her and like you said I’m sure that will impact her down the line, along with all the other recovery she’ll have to deal with. Poor girl ❤

You two are talking about the same issue from opposite ends, which is why you're not coming to an understanding. Samize is saying that there's something wrong with Char playing on her "relationship" with followers only to turn around and tell them that they are "nobodies" or "mean nothing". I agree with this wholeheartedly, especially since she used Grace's condition as an opportunity to flog Grace's new book release and pushed it as a way for people to show support while her sister was in a coma. Plus she repeatedly reposted stories from people who asked for prayers, etc. She involved her following along the way only to flip out one day calling everyone a bunch of nobodies.

BooksNCats, it seems that you're saying that it is up to the followers to be more sensitive and recognize when not to ask about Grace. I feel like this is a valid point when you're talking about people you know in real life, but that's not how the internet works. Also, it's not a realistic expectation given the type of involvement Char actively solicited earlier in Grace's hospitalization. I'm sure not as many people would have expected updates if she had always behaved as though they wanted privacy.

Btw, it's still my personal opinion that they only started to value privacy once Grace woke up and they didn't want to announce it (for a number of reasons, I'm sure).

Unsure if anyone has seen what her sister posted but I watched the same documentary and if what her sister is saying, it doesn’t sound that promising which is incredibly sad

I mean given that "Grace" has just posted on her Instagram, I wouldn't say she's in as bad a state as Derek.

Not to say that they haven't been through an ordeal and I get that social media is/was her job, but posting on my socials would be the least of my concerns right now. My priority would truly be my health, bonding with my baby and then working (once I'm really in a position to do so).

Looks like drip feeding updates and then going cold (and then getting pissed off when people ask for more) is going to be a recurring theme imo.

I think she knows what she is doing by making the reference, which will incite more questions and then she’ll moan at the questions

What happened in the documentary???
There was a woman in it with mild long term affects like been forgetful needing a heart monitor etc, some people never get back to themselves truly

I don't think she is suggesting Grace is in a similar situation?

She acknowledges it's a "small fraction" of what they went through and is simply saying she can relate.

I don't see anything wrong with it.

I think you misunderstood her tweet, she said “so much of it was the same” meaning they were in a very similar situation but the documentary will give their viewers a small fraction of an insight. All the best to Grace regardless I hope her long term symptoms won’t be too damaging

That's literally what I said. That the documentary is a small part of what the family experienced.

I'm not sure what Charleigh has said wrong. It's true Grace was in a coma, like the subjects of the documentary. It's also true that her condition is less severe seeing as she's at home recovering. Which is what Charleigh is saying.

Is it untrue or misleading for her to say Grace being in a coma is similar to other people in comas with Covid?

The person I originally quoted made out as if Charleigh was trying to suggest Grace was equally bad but she didn't.

Apologies if it came across that way as I watched the documentary there was lesser cases on there and that is what I was referring to.

How do we know she has been discharged and isn't still in the hospital?

I’d be really surprised if she woke up from nearly 3 months in a coma last week and was at home this week but I’m no medical professional! Perhaps she woke up earlier than they shared with the ‘public’ in order to have some private family time without questions etc?

This is what I suspected, but either way I think they deserve privacy and people should leave them alone, however if the family continue to post there’s going to be questions been asked and I think her sister has to realise if you’re going to say certain things on the internet be prepared for the consequences

I doubt Grace is home. She will have months of rehab to go through. She likely has severe muscle wastage and will have to learn to walk, talk and eat again.

I doubt she's home. She was in a coma for 3 months. Her rehabilitation would of only just started.
