I had a baby 12 days before Grace and I CANNOT imagine waking up and I have missed nearly 3 months of my baby’s life.
The teeny tiny squishy stage, first smiles, learning my baby’s cues, yes the sleepless nights are rough but you soon miss those middle of the night cuddles. The newborn stage is so amazing especially with your first! I feel so so sad for her, surely it’s going to have such a big impact on her mentally? Maybe right now she’ll just be happy to be alive for her baby but it might get her later on 💔😔

I think she will be in for a lot of therapy and rehabilitation because not only will she have missed 3 months of day to day life and the first 3 months of her baby's life she will also probably have a long road to health, using her muscles again, breathing for herself, etc. I hope she gets the help she will need.

For sure! My brother was an induced coma for 2ish weeks after a head injury (obviously diff situation) but he needed to learn to walk and talk again. Its been weeks for her so for sure she will need some major rehab. I just feel so bad for her regarding the baby. She is going to be a stranger to him 😞

Omg your poor brother, I hope he’s okay now?

I can’t remember when it is but one of the very early baby leaps they learn who’s familiar versus a stranger. It breaks my heart the way my covid baby responds to family now (pained red scream crying, struggling to get away, seriously distressed, taking days to recover and tolerate that person) I can’t imagine how horrible it’ll be to go through that with your own baby. I really hope there’s some sort of intense paediatrics consultant led process to help them both with this.

Not just Grace specific but it really makes you think of how much trauma has been accrued during covid doesn’t it. Horrible x

Well, hopefully for her and the baby the hospital she was in runs a program similar to mine for the covid mums and babies. We give them little knitted hearts or squares for the mums to keep in their beds next to them. These are then sent out to their babies. Obviously only when they start testing negative for the virus.

So sad 😞 pre COVID the baby could of possibly been taken in to see her now she’s awake, I wonder if she’s even allowed visitors? I hope people are checking in on Lee because he’s had a hell of a lot to deal with these last few months!

She’s been having regular visitors, I’m sure one of them was allowed in every day and i think grace’s family have rallied around lee from what I’ve seen online

Oh okay I’m assuming once she tested negative someone was allowed to visit. There’s never a good time to be in intensive care but during COVID it must be so much harder 😫

Lots of hospital trusts are now trialing short visits for patients. Particularly for ICU patients who are still very poorly but are no longer positive for covid.

Unfortunately he is not the same as he was. It was described as a catastrophic brain injury. The worst bleed on the brain one of the consultants had ever seen. However it’s a miracle he is alive or not in a vegetative state. Thanks to London’s air ambulance he was dealt with very quickly or it could have been a different story. Thank you for asking xx

I really like Charleigh and I think she’s a very strong and brave individual going through MS at such a young age. However, I think repeatedly telling their subscribers that they’re nobodies and don’t mean anything to her and Grace? That’s unnecessarily harsh. Would she speak like that if she was trying to get us to use her sponsored links or buy her sisters books? Na. Don’t get me wrong I have been so worried since Grace has been in a coma and have not once intruded to ask Charleigh, but there’s a way to nicely get your message across, specially to those who are the reason you have an income

I am catching up, I did not realise this thread was open again.
I am delighted for Grace and her family that she has woken up... Honestly, I did not expect her to make it given she had been in an induced coma for 3 months. Her recovery will be tough and I am sure it will take a lot of rehab, she will likely have a lot of muscle wastage from being laid down for so long.
Now... I saw speculation that Grace was out and about while she knowingly had Covid. Is that true?

Also, Grace's sister seems really wonderful....nvm, just read she was rude to some people here but perhaps a lot of people were asking personal questions.

Personally I don’t think this is fair given the circumstances to speculate I’m sure when grace is ready she will speak about everything so it’s probably a conversation for a later date

Followers may be the reason they have an income but that doesn’t give anyone the right to feel entitled enough to ask such personal questions at such a difficult time. I really can’t comprehend how people think it’s okay to message the family directly about this situation as if they aren’t going through enough. They were already giving public updates as and when they had them, there was no need for anybody to try and dig for information in private messages so I can completely understand why Grace’s sister didn’t reply kindly, I’d have been angry too.

I never said they had a right to ask questions. But it is emotional manipulation to create this false closeness with your followers when you’re tying to flog crap and sponsored posts to them but then completely change your tune when you are not profiting from them anymore. She had every right to defend herself but don’t expect people to buy your tit or support you if they don’t mean anything to you.

She has a public profile. She posted to Grace's account that Grace was in a coma, and then went on to re-post discussion and well wishes from different accounts, all the while talking about Grace, the baby and alluding to various things for the entire time Grace was unconscious. She has had multiple Q&A's on her public profile ASKING for questions, and yet she's annoyed when people ask?

How bleeping stupid!

But that statement is true of influencer culture in general - the whole culture is manipulative and needs to end. It’s up to us, as decent human beings, to know that it would be inappropriate to feel liked you are owed something from a family who are going through such a terrifying time.

There will be a psychiatrist assigned to her and I'm sure she will just be grateful the doctors saved her life and she will see the rest of his life for herself !

She chose to bring this personal matter on to social media and through out she has been highly interactive and active regarding her sisters situation. People are not mind readers when she posts things like “ask me questions” on her stories. Not everyone is going to be the on the same emotional understanding.

I went through a very similar situation as Charleigh, however I lost two of my loved ones on the ventilator. During waiting, I didn’t post anything because I didn’t want to talk about it, it as simple as that in my opinion 🤷🏽‍♀️

I feel like we all have different opinions on this matter which is fair but that’s the last thing ill say on this 🤙
