Love the addition of Simon and Jane. The Scottish couple still haven't grown on me and I couldn't understand some of the 2 sisters at times.

Does anyone else think that what they make from the show is quite low? Apparently it's £1,500 a month. Considering how popular the show is, and how popular many of the families are, it just seems fairly low. Then again I'm not sure what correct amount would be for a show like that.
This is just an extra bit of cash to them. And really what do they have to do? They are being paid to watch a bit of tv & try to be funny.

says on DM he was caught having phonesex and meeting other women.
Now he's on instagram begging for attention and victim playing. All his comments are from desperate women saying 'you know the truth'.

We all know the truth, he's a sleazy rat bag who clearly thought he could lead a double life.

Apparently, regardless of how many family members there are, each family is paid £1,500 a month, or £125 for every hour they have to watch.

And then of course many start earning a lot more as 'influencers'.
Haven’t read further down the thread yet as to whether anyone else has replied to this but I know for a fact that the cast of gogglebox can’t actually do much in terms of being an influencer/getting more famous/well known for something other than gogglebox. Take for instance the lad from the malone family who left the show, it was because he was getting veryyyyy popular on tik tok, same as the baggs family, they had to weigh up what was best, making a name for themselves by being on TV once a week or making a name for themselves on Instagram/social media and earning from that. They all say it’s because they didn’t have time/were pursuing other opportunities but it’s basically just what they have to say for quitting the show lol.
They also get all their food and drink given to them for filming on top of the £1.5k wage, they can order as much or as little as they want and it gets dropped off at the start of the week for filming.

Usually love gogglebox but didn’t laugh as much as usual last night  Wish we saw more of Dave and Shirley and the three brothers.
i love the three brothers! i wish they included them more rather than having pete and sophie react to (it feels like) every single programme they show. being from wales, dave and shirley make me quite homesick in how they speak and the phrases they use, i love them 🤣

i cannot bear the two sisters, but that’s mainly due to the sister who sits on the right (ellie, i think?)

I agree. Gogglebox has been a fascinating and enjoyable concept, but sometimes tv shows need changing up, but with Gogglebox it's just not possible to do that. The whole concept is people sitting in front of a TV and reacting to what they see. It can still be enjoyable, but less so after many years

For me it's the same as the Great British Bake Off. Watching people bake every week is great, but eventually the concept becomes a bit tedious. I never missed a season of the GBBO before this year, but this year I can take it or leave it. Maybe I'm going through a phase 😄
I've not been hugely into Gogglebox for a couple of series now, I usually have it on as I fall asleep.

And Bake Off - I'm over it. I watched the first episode of this series and just couldn't be bothered with it. So I haven't bothered. Shows naturally run their course when people are simply done with it. And they have both reached that point for me. Strictly is teetering on the brink as well for me. Adam and John's arses are the only thing keeping my attention.

I'm just reading back, and I see that the rumour was that Sally slept with Paige's boyfriend!

Has to have been something fairly bad anyway for the relationship between mother and daughter to fall apart as it did.

Where's the Malone's and their cakes???
Must admit, I used to really like watching this on Friday nite, but am finding it quite boring now.
I read that another grandchild arrived on the scene this week so maybe they were busy helping out. It's a son I didn't know they had.

How many kids do they have?

Weren't Stephen and Chris just friends after breaking up? So he was probably with his husband around then too.

"Christopher Ashby-Steed joined Stephen Webb on the first EVER episode of Gogglebox in 2013. At first they were in a romantic relationship – but after they broke up, decided to continue working together on the show."
