I’ve been watching the old episodes on Netflix and it really does come across a lot more scripted/set up these days, I wish the German Family would come back.

I was channel hopping last night and saw Amy Tapper on Eating With My Ex (terrible show; do not recommend). Her ex was a guy she'd dated for two months, which was a pretty tragic premise for going on the show in the first place. I decided to see what she was doing these days, and it seems she wants to make a career out of being an influencer/minor celeb. I mean I wasn't surprised, but jeez. You could have disappeared into obscurity and got a decent job like your brother!

Well, so much for Ed Sheeran. If you blinked you would have missed him as he hardly said anything! It was all Anne-Marie again.

Even though I will still watch it, I hope it [the Celebrity version] finishes soon as tonight's episode really bored me.

Even some of the non news programmes they watch have this problem. Last year watching F1 Drive to Survive, Grosjeans fireball crash at Bahrain. It was a major news story because it was a miracle. And Marcus is sitting their as an F1 fan. And there they were pretending it was new to them, especially Marcus pretending to not know the outcome was so fake.

that really bugs me too! they watched drive to survive again a few episodes ago with max’s crash at silverstone and marcus (after telling misha it had been the best season ever) did the same thing again - yelling “oh my god he’s crashed! look! is he okay?” etc, when he’d obviously seen it all before the first time around.

it’s the same when they have them watch really famous films and they react as though it’s the very first time. as a viewer, i’d rather if they just honestly said their favourite part was coming up or something

I found last nights ep quite dull. Why did they show so much of Claire and her wife? They never said anything interesting.
Same with Ann Marie and TJ- how many more times do we have to watch her drop her jaw and pretend to laugh?
Sunetra and Georgia were shovelling food in their gobs again. Thought the idea was to provide commentary not go round to your friends for tea?

I thought the same. The couples are not as good as before. I don’t like Denise VO’s fella, Lorraine Kelly and wee Rosie are dull, as are Claire B and her Mrs. I think Gyles and Maureen could be good but don’t get much air time. Tom J and Ann Marie don’t work, I keep thinking the old letch is going to hit on her. I wouldn’t put it past him. I miss Rylan and his ma.

Scarlet was so funny and likeable.

This last one I loved Mo and Babatunde, also the Banjos and Perry (especially watching Get Out )
I must be the only one not fussed on Mica and Marcus - I think they (she in particular) sadly play up to the camera a lot now.

One of the most glaring things this week was The Apprentice. If they watched the whole episode rather than a highlights package they wouldn't have been so shocked by the label being called out as reading 'dies' in the Ocado meeting because Karen immediately flagged it when they still creating the label, a good ten minutes earlier.

I noticed this as well. It was obvious they weren’t watching the full episode and had been told to react to the same part of it. Shows always do this, start of just being candid real people and ends up being scripted rubbish we can all see through.

To be honest I am sick of seeing the Kemps on TV now, just have to turn them off or mute them on Gogglebox.

Miss Rylan and his mum. He has been off sick for over a month now from his radio show, and pulled out of the activity around Eurovision. Hope he is okay. I first thought maybe his mum, who suffers from ill health, had taken a turn for the worse, but the person who took over the Euro stuff said she hoped he would get better. Maybe he is looking after his mum. He came off Twitter a while back.

Rylan and his Mum have been the best Celeb couple on Gogglebox and I don't get sick of seeing him on TV I know his Mum has Crohn's but attacks don't usually last that long, I think it is him that is ill.

how hurtful are these comments though? imagine people saying this sort of stuff about you and how did you bag a partner! he seems like a genuinely nice, funny guy - it’s not all about looks!

Exactly this should all be comments on people's behaviour things they can control its disgusting to comment on things people can't control such as their looks

Can’t stand the Bagg family. The mum is so gobby as is the eldest son. Dad says nothing but probably can’t get a word in.

Need to get rid of these ASAP

New people..Simon & Jane

Considering it was their first programme, I found them more interesting than all the times the Baggs family has been featured.

Not the best episode IMO.

All fell a bit flat and where where Lee and Jenny?

I'm all over the place this series. The first episode bored me, but the following ones were not too bad until last night's. It was flat. I didn't miss Jenny & Lee at all. They used to be one of my favourite couples, but not any more as everything they do just seems so contrived. I think this is why I am losing interest as so much is so obviously staged now. FGS, Sue and Steve hardly ever say anything, yet there was Steve posing in lycra cycling shorts - Really?

So do I. I wonder why the girls stopped doing it though? One of them was in the house when they were last filming because Marcus opened one their parcels. I think it's better without them tbh.

Channel 4 probably thought the dynamic was better with just the two of them. They were right.

Feel like I've seen so many articles about gogglebox not providing enough aftercare etc. While I do agree that they should get some support, I also think that nobody forced you to apply? You know its a popular TV show and that people will probably be making comments about you on social media. Just don't apply for the show lol??

Not too keen on the new people they keep adding. I don't dislike their personalities or anything, but the humour's just not there. Am really missing Mary!

Love the addition of Saoirse Monica and Jamie Lee. I could listen to both of them talk all day (lovely accents) and I thought their comments were very “real” and not too rehearsed like some.
