Yeah it's really odd. She's happy to leave him to take stuff back, but not to grab a buggy? It's America, they have same day Amazon delivery. I feel like she's a bit addicted to the attention now, because I guess the same day or even next day thing wouldn't do anything for tiktok

I'm sure there's a shop in close proximity to the hospital that she could have ran to grabbed one and got back to the hospital. As a mum of a baby who was in hospital for weeks and weeks sometimes a bit of a break is actually needed!
Exactly!! I find it all odd. She’s had so many people asking why nobody has gone with her and it’s always been some vague excuse.
Not been on this thread for a while, but seeing this justgiving page for the two young men who died on Snowdon last week is really refreshing. I wish we could see more of this rather than wealthy people setting up fundraisers to maintain their wealthy lifestyles, because god forbid they have to downsize their mansions and other assets. Imagine what a cancer charity could have done with a $2.7million ‘van der beek’ fundraiser. Or even half of it. It’s still accepting donations too.
There is something so crass about all these GoFundMe efforts getting set up within hours of a passing.

There was one on Facebook being shared a couple had gone on holiday to India. He had cancer so didn't take out insurance and he had a stroke whilst over there, he was put in an induced coma which was costing a lot daily, family set up a GFM to help pay for it, he sadly died so no doubt the money will be used aswell to get him home. I felt sorry for him and his family but going away without travel

I don't know when people are going to wake up and realise yes it travel insurance can cost a lot but so can the consequences on yourself or your family if you need it and haven't got it!

Now it's becoming common to see them set up, usually after a tragic death, where it's unclear what the purpose of the fund is. 'To help the family...' fair enough if people want to help to pay for a funeral, as it's an unexpected cost.
They should be closed, imo, once the funeral is paid for, or like the example above the money given to help a specific cause.
People see it as an easy and quick route to get the money they need or to a family in need and what's worse is anyone can set it up so you don't actually know in the person in need is even getting it
It's so undignified. You get a couple of paragraphs of mawkish insincere AI waffle about how devastating everything is and how they "brightened up every room" then a standard "so can I have some money pls" at the bottom. Same pattern all the time now. First thing so many people do.
You can see a real buzz for a hustle opportunity in many of them as well. Sure they're a bit sad but also they're chuffed to bits that they'll be raking it in. Yuck. And lots of them are cynical 'adapted versions of the story' designed to attract more donations too.... that's another annoyance. See the current Rachel Tussey story and GFM as a potential example. Strange goings on there.

It's seems to be sadly quite common now. Some poor person, even a child, dies and within hours their partner/parent/sibling is setting up a GFM and posting on Instagram and making TikToks.
I've just been reading about that one. Husband said the procedure went well but they think they overdosed her on pain meds?

It’s obviously devastating, and it’s awful to see so many businesses impacted. But at the same time, most legitimate businesses should have insurance that covers things like their premises, equipment, and stock. I’ve seen a few fundraisers — for example a makeup artist raising money to replace her kit — and she has already raised over £7,000.
I understand that insurance claims can take time to process, but it does make me wonder if these fundraisers are a bit excessive, given that insurance payouts should eventually cover these losses. I’m just curious what everyone else thinks about it.

Yes, except it turns out she isn't dead. The family wrote the original GFM as if she was deceased and the husband did a bizarre TT claiming "they killed my wife", and mentioned medical negligence (also moaned about the cost of the surgeries), but now they say she's in a hospice somewhere. They have also said she was brain dead and in a vegetative state. The regular updates from family have stopped now other than one of them making a post to blame social media for misinformation.

So was on TT earlier and came across someone's live. They look like they stuck in Dubai, flight has been cancelled a few times. Someone who had joined there live said they should start a GFM up to try and pay for flights or even use the money to pay for bills etc as they not working as stuck there so won't get paid. I'm sorry but just No!
Cancelled flights are rescheduled by the airlines. They also handle hotels and basic food ( like breakfast in hotel and a voucher for an evening meal to a certain amount or from a specific menu). Also travel to and from hotel to airport are covered.
How long are they "stuck" there cos usually it's like 1 or 2 nights max, unless it's crazy icy weather.
