From the looks of things they were all walking wounded by the end. No point getting Giant out there as he's slower than my nan driving. They should have got Nitro to run again, the guy never broke a sweat.

Hang on, are you saying that just because you get tickets, you won’t necessarily get in??

I have got some but it is a 90 minute drive to Sheffield which is a long way to drive to not actually get in.

They always oversell tickets for recordings as they don't want empty seats.

I really hope they do a visit to Ireland for the live tour this year. Belfast/Dublin. Just costs so much for us to get across to England or Scotland we'd spend £500 before the tickets. My kids are desperate to see the Gladiators! (and me too)

Steel has posted that his son was born at the end of March prematurely, he was only 23 weeks. He's put a picture of him on his wife's chest in a woolly hat and he's absolutely tiny it must be so stressful. I hope they're all doing well, he seems like such a good guy with the work he does in schools. And I like that he's speaking as a former overweight kid, not someone who was sporty their whole lives. He's in my holy trinity with Phantom and Nitro.

I saw that too. I really hope he pulls through.

Tonight is the episode we saw filmed! We've already seen our mugs on screen a couple of times and a friend text me to say she'd spotted us too its interesting to see how its been put together, as it was filmed in a different sequence to what is shown.

We were there too- thankfully we didnt spot ourselves lol.
We said the same about the order, we also dont remember Legend being there so think that was slotted in. Barney and Brad in same colour suits as last week so not hard to edit.

It'd be a cheek to charge, the audience is a tool to make the programme, a lot is asked of the audience (of any programme, not just gladiators). Sitting for a long time, long stretches of nothing happening, repetitions of the show for pick ups etc, being told when to laugh and cheer, not balls up continuity by swapping seats or buggering off halfway through. It's not "work" by any means and it's great to see a programme being made but it's not an audience in a traditional sense of going to see a show (which is for the entertainment of *that* audience, this for for the entertainment of the tv audience), always good fun though, I've done a few and never regretted it

I found it fascinating when I've been in audience. Panel shows are fun as there is so much more (and sometimes funnier!) recorded than actually airs, and pre-records of music artists for 'Live' shows is far more common than people think!

Yes, Hang Tough was one of the original events they brought back. It hasn’t been used as much as it was in the 90s series.

I read that the usual means of selecting the fastest runner up for the semis wasn’t in fact the fastest but the contenders involved were subject to a Duel off. Except none of the contenders fell, so Mark Clattenberg picked the two contenders who would qualify. This was from people who were there. Seems a bit misleading to not mention that but it is the BBC…

In some ways it’s probably fairer Josh got back through because in his heat he was super close so probably would have qualified anyhow.

I mentioned to my daughter last night that they described the returned contestants as 'one of the fastest runners-up' not 'THE fastest'.......makes sense now
