Every polyam couple/trio/quartet I've met have been deeply into kink. Usually the kind that degrades women and leaves them with marks and bruises.

Rest assured I no longer move in those circles. 😂

I once vaguely knew someone who was poly way before it was a commonly known thing (like, 20 years ago). Then she got married and had a kids and lived a very rural life in a farmhouse. Couldn’t have seemed more traditional.

But there would always be randoms staying in their house. I always wondered who the hell these people were. She also semi-regularly flew to stay with a male “friend” in a European country (the family never went on foreign holidays). Then the husband came out as “trans” (I.e. liked crossdressing). Then I heard rumours that he had sex with men on the side 😳

So, er, yeah... it may have looked like they were living a quiet rural life but they really weren’t.

I mean this might be harsh but I think it would be a tiny percentage of people that would want to date a transperson long term. I think the majority of those interested would be men having a thing for trans women as curious sex thing, or a fetish. But it would be just that, not likely to go long term, introduce to family ect. And when they are done they are done.
I can’t see many women wanting to date trans men as I think it would be very hard work with all the other issues they might have and wanting children. I might be completely wrong.
Interestingly my trans male friend found the opposite on dating apps! He met *a lot* of women when he was on the apps and they were fully aware he was trans. Some of the women told him they felt "safer" with him which is a very clumsy way of putting it but I think I get what they mean. You are right though that having children is an issue, he was a bit younger at the time but I know it has come up now he's in his 30s.

That's interesting, and I'd be curious to know if these women identified as straight or bisexual. I personally couldn't even when people have tried to pressure/convince me IRL, but it's nice that there's some dating options for trans people. Now if the very active ones on social media would stop trying to police everyone's sexuality that would be lovely.

Reading about how Labour wish public bodies and private companies to replace Mr, Mrs, Miss and Ms with Mx which they already have started to use on forms within the party (as well as Misc and Ind). One MP Alex Sobel answered ‘No’ (just no, he didn’t expand on the comment) to a question on Twitter which asked ‘do you agree that there should be sex-segregated facilities for women in hospitals, schools, refuges and prisons?’ He also has been quoted to have said that women who disagree with these changes are ‘bigots’.

That is horrific and so angering. How dare men tell women we shouldn't have the right to protection FROM THEM.

That’s interesting and I can understand that in a way.

To think I’ve always voted Labour, not anymore! I wonder if they are so far from power that they are just going for sabotage where they can

I left the Labour party during the leadership campaigns when the majority of the candidates signed the trans pledge calling for sex-based rights campaigners to be expelled from Labour, and stating that trans women are victims of misogyny.

Regarding dating as a trans person, blimey, it’s hard enough as it is! I have tried every app going and it’s a nightmare. If someone doesn’t find you attractive, they don’t find you attractive, whether that’s your looks, your awful bio or the immediate sense of knowing they aren’t your type. I would consider myself bi although have only had one relationship with a woman, and many with men. Would I date a trans man? Maybe? But I think that’s because I would know they’re still biologically women. I wouldn’t date a trans woman... even though I like men?! Am I transphobic for not wanting to date someone who is obviously male, taller than me etc but dresses as a woman? Maybe?!? I don’t know.

i have to write something to be able to post this link.
Talking about this in a political way, I found it stuck out a bit that someone I know who is a socialist and very ‘woke’ did not watch in inauguration of the very first female Vice President and the first woman to hold the second highest office in America, the first woman of colour etc because they didn’t agree with her politics. He even went so far to make a post on Facebook crowing about it, making a flippant comments. He’s the first to say he’s a feminist, first to say he supports all women, yet he purposefully watched something else and then boasted about it on social media. I don’t agree with Kamala Harris’ political 100% even though I would call myself liberal. But I did think it was important for me (as I had the ability and free time) to witness a woman progress even higher to the position of President. It just seems women have to be 100% infallible to be respected in politics, especially if they go for main roles. I’ve said in the past that even though I don’t necessarily support all their views, it’s great to see more women in politics and the response I get from the typical woke feminist men is ‘just because they are a woman doesn’t mean they are any good.’ I don’t think I’ve ever heard them say ‘just because they are transgender/gay/black/disabled/etc doesn’t mean they are any good’. No being part of a minority (whatever it is) doesn’t automatically mean you’re great at your job, but I still think it’s nice to see such diversity after such a long time of these jobs being out of reach for people.
(I hope my comment makes sense, it’s a case here if I know how I feel about an issue but just can’t find the right words to put together)

See this is exactly the kind of bi-erasure I was talking about a while back. When I was growing up, pansexuality and bisexuality were two discrete sexualities. Nowadays, if bisexuals aren't also pansexual, you're transphobic. If lesbians don't accept transwomen into their dating pool, they're transphobic. If anything that isn't pansexual is transphobic, what is the point of sexuality? I thought we had moved on from the antiquated, discriminatory 'preferences' idea that sexuality is something within our control or that we can change. I'm never going to want to date a transman because I don't find vaginas sexually appealing, end of story. Frankly, I don't give a damn whatever kind of 'phobic' that is. I would rather be a ~ tRaNsPhObE ~ than the kind of moron who demands other categories of sexuality cease to exist to make trans people feel better.

TRAs will usually say you could date transwomen then for the d.

The opposite version if the woman goes to a gay hook up party story we talked about the other week.

I've been taken to a gay night club by a friend and it was fine. I think it's different because women have a tendency to be more respectful and even if one tried to perv on a gay man, she wouldn't be a threat. Whereas there's a history of men perving on women especially lesbians which many straight guys view as a sort of fetish.

Just an observation. Hilaria (Hillary) Baldwin has been absolutely lynched and laughed at and there is a lot of anger regarding her weird, made up persona of being Spanish heritage and not understanding English and appropriating as a different culture and ethnicity. Just strange.
She's been vilified over the internet. Her career has gone, looks like Alec Baldwin isn't living with her any more and she issued a not sorry apology.

There has been outrage and condemnation.

So when blokes like Eddie izzard and Jenner appropriate as women...and we all know they're not why are they held up as brave and stunning?
It's exactly the same scenario. Delusional people appropriating as soemthing they're not. But these blokes aren't called out, they're not laughed at, they embraced and held up as beacons of bravery.

Men just get their way all the time. I'm sick of it.
Men will never be a woman. If you say I'm transphobic for that then fine, I must be.
