Whenever my kids were having bad sleep phases I used to say to myself 'does this happen in Africa or did it happen in Victoria England?' and if the answer was 'no' then I assumed it my my parenting at fault. I still think that now and it works.
That's excellent advice, I'm going to steal this, thank you please.

Love this.

Bit confused though, should I stop making my kids clean the chimney as getting a bit fed up of the neighbours calling social services on me.

Owen Jones used to be okay before he discovered c and smelling his own farts , now he is an odious little pricky gobshite.

So it's down to stereotypes. Rather than feeling she could still be female regardless of what she looks like or how she dresses, she felt the need to conform. Thank God she saw that it's not necessary.
I watched an oldish First Dates the other night. One couple were lesbians - one of them said she was into drag and loved dressing up in drag as a very feminine woman. Neither of them were butch anyway (I'm never sure of the correct terminology).
I've pondered this for days 😂
It just seemed a bit sad - that dressing in a 'feminine' way was sort of seen as the preserve of men iyswim.

" Sinn Féin is to hold a special conference to review its policy on gender identity issues as the party continues to grapple with the matter. "

" The party previously held talks with activist groups in the space, but Saturday’s event will not be attended by outside groups and is for members only, the spokesman said, confirming that trans members of Sinn Féin will be attending.

There is expected to be in the region of 150 members attending the meeting, which is being convened on the back of a motion seeking a conference on the issue of gender identity issues, which will allow the party to inform future policy decisions.
Sinn Féin’s Ard Comhairle – its governing body – will receive a report on the conference and ultimately to the party’s annual Árd Fheis. The conference will be led by the party’s chair, Declan Kearney, with leader Mary Lou McDonald also expected to attend and address the group"

Not very bleeping useful for the visually impaired, is it? How "inclusive".
Nor people with dementia or certain brain injuries, who can have difficulties with visual perception.

Also, why is the small "island" painted the same as the crossing? At first glance that looks like one continuous crossing.

I found a few examples from google, and they none have the island painted the same as the crossing - including a diagram from the Highway Code.

It's just demosntrative of how the rules are wholly disregarded for this supposedly most oppressed group.

It really winds me up how the stripes don't even go the right way for a zebra crossing. At least make it resemble the thing it's supposed to be ffs.

Why does EVERYTHING need to pander to this tiny minority of people? Do any other group of people have to have pedestrian crossings painted in their colours? Why does a crossing need to affirm gender identity anyway. Does it mean that only trans people can use it, as it’s not “ inclusive” for anyone else.
FFS, it’s ridiculous that they manage to insert their delusions and ridiculousness into everything.

I've never understood as well if their goal is showing support then why have it in a place where people are going to walk/drive over it. It seems like one nutters idea that then suddenly experienced contagion and no one was brave enough to say the emperor has no clothes

@glubby ...Well done for speaking up to your parents! We know it's sometimes difficult to have these conversations with loved ones or with friends, but even if your parents do "gossip" about you, it's obvious that even they know, deep down, that you're not wrong about this, and I'm also certain that they don't think that you're a bigot.
It's very telling that your mum is well aware of the epidemic of violence against women, and that your dad noticed the odd rise in sudden transgenderism amongst secondary school girls. They're so nearly there, aren't they? They just need someone to tip them over the edge. Once they realise how harmful this ridiculous men's rights movement is to women and girls, they'll come round to your way of thinking. It may take a while, no-one likes to admit that their kids are smarter than they are (especially teachers lol!) But you're the one who is right. Never forget that 💜💚🤍

Why are so many organisations turning a blind eye to people who are waving more red flags than a communist party rally. How was this EVER deemed OK?
When I was at school ( admittedly a long time ago), we were always warned not to talk to strangers and be alert to weirdos. Now they are being encouraged and anyone objecting is in the wrong. WTAF? Where’s the safeguarding and protecting, the teaching children the very real dangers of sexual predators and trusting your instincts?
I’m not usually a conspiracy theorist but I feel the constant way all this is pushed and so many prominent organisations are captured has some ulterior motive.
Normalise MAP ? Take away the hard earned rights of women? Both?? Whatever, it seems that all that matters is that men get what they want and to hell with everyone else.

“Biological women” 😠
Women "clock" them alright.

But these "trans girls" are bigger, stronger and more aggressive than the majority of women - and certainly if there are THREE of them together, very few women would risk a punch to make a point, especially if they are in there with a child or a vulnerable older relative.

This is bullying, pure and simple.

I tore down a "Love is Love" poster in the toilets at the Barbican on Saturday. I arrived to go to an exhibition, the signage in the place is really poor, and it's a HUGE venue. I finally got to where I needed to be to find only "gender neutral" toilets. One set advertised "with urinals" the other "with cubicles" I had no time to embark on ANOTHER mission around the centre (the event was ticketed with a set start time), so I had to use them. The toilet was tiny, and the cubicals absolutely minute. Once I'd finished, I had to loiter in the cubicle as there was a big man in the washbasin area (an actual man, dressed as a man). Once he left, I was confronted with this "love is love" "we're all inclusive" poster, and I just saw red. They're so inclusive, yet I'd had to wait to exit the cubicle so I wasn't stood alone with a massive bloke, and having done an insulin injection while in the toilet, I'd had to (as I always do) stash my used needle in my handbag to take home - nobody "inclusive" can provide sharps boxes for the 4% of the UK population with type 1 diabetes, can they? But they can create "inclusive spaces" to indulge the much smaller proportion of the population with delusions.

To be clear, I don't expect places to provide sharps boxes. I just think if we're going to throw the word "inclusive" around, then it should be genuinely inclusive - otherwise let's just call it what it is "we worship at the alter of Trans"

So I have just learned from a third party that my non-binary daughter has legally changed (abbreviated) her name. Her name is a beloved family name and was her late Grandmothers (my mother’s) family name through generations. She has also removed her middle name which was gender neutral anyway. Deadnaming works both ways. I’ve just had to tell her Grandfather (my father). I have not spoken to her since she learnt of my approval of the SC ruling. I am in shock. How would you react to this?
