Or he's just more politically astute than the rest of his party. To be fair he did uphold the ban on puberty blockers too so he's definitely not as captured as some of the others.
I really hope it’s because he understands how abhorrent the current policy is and not just political posturing because he thinks the tide is turning.

So after weeks of weekly updates from Milli Hill showing how the word “woman” is being erased, at the end of today’s one we finally got the word “woman” being used. Shame it was about the men we discussed on here. Actual women are “birthing parents” “people who menstruate” “uterus havers” but men get to be called women. Amazing. Love life. Definitely a sane and very normal time to be alive.

From experiencing him as NUS President (from a distance) I would say it’s the latter. He knows how to play the game. But I think it’s a good sign that the tide is actually turning, because I don’t think he would get behind any of this if he thought it would damage his career prospects.

I knew him before then and I agree ☝. He absolutely can read the room and although this might mean he’s not with us 100%, it means the change is coming.

Straight women are now wearing wigs, how kind of you notice.
My mum wore a wig when she went out to the theatre or dinner when I was a kid in the 70s, it's not a drag invention.
They think they invented everything.
Truly disgusting from the BBC. No mention of women who wear wigs after losing their hair to chemo. Or like my sister to the devastating condition of alopecia at just 21 years old. I bleeping hate the BBC. How long till they tell us the Virgin Mary was actually a drag queen.

You were at university at the same time as me!

Streeting is gay, isn't he? I think he may be a closet LGB Alliancer, fed up of being classified, as a gay man, alongside dog fetishists, transvestites and people who are way too interested in children's sexuality.

I’m hopeful that Streeting is a closet Terf. Even three years ago he was going against the official party line that women can have penises.

Some are several years old and as bad as the women's lives were at that time, we know the situation for Afghan (and Iranian) women has now become unbearable.

Non-fiction:
"The Underground Girls of Kabul: The hidden lives of Afghan girls disguised as boys" by Jenny Nordberg
Those certainly sound like interesting, even essential reading! Thanks from me also!

Regarding the bits I've put in bold, it makes me equal parts furious and desperately sad that some women need to disguise themselves as men to simply gain some freedom and safety.
And here we have men dressing as women..... sorry, no words 🤬
Women's lives in so many parts of the world, including western societies has always been SUCH A bleeping STRUGGLE thanks largely to men.
And now men are have a new way to oppress. 👏

I thought the whole purpose of the BMA was to regulate doctors, ensure they were fit to practice and keep the public safe. They are not fit for purpose.
Not only that but if the BMA do not understand the concept and importance of biological sex then - well I’m lost for words. What hope is there?
Have I missed the article on this on the BBC or are they giving this story a swerve.

Not a dicky bird. Their last story mentioning the BMA was about the lack of funding for GPs . They are so agenda-driven, it’s a joke for them to assert otherwise.

This is the only thing I can find on the BBC website about trans. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cg4klq45ngvo At no point in the article does it give any indication that the reason the passport says “male” is because he’s a man. (I’ve no idea who this actor is). The way this stuff is presented, I think it’s deliberately confusing for a lot of people who don’t know what “trans man “ and “trans woman” are.

Im so fed up with the constant lying. He’s not a woman, he’s a man. His passport is now truthful.

I just saw this on X. Thought it must be a joke but he provided a link to the amended legislation.

I'm a bit suspicious and wonder if he lost his passport on purpose to test out the new passport regulations?? Most people store their passport very carefully (I usually keep mine in the hotel safe if I'm away). Plus he also got it back VERY quickly - it usually takes 6-8 wks to get a replacement in the UK
It's good publicity and a way of getting sympathy

Ash Sarker pretending to be reasonable is giving me the rage. We’ve entered the age of ‘no it wasn’t me’
