I think that's a big part of the problem. They have nothing else to do.

Khelif will do a "Semenya"...marry a biological woman (on the quiet) and perhaps have children in the future, as is expected in his country.
I think Raven Saunders is a poster girl for the crossover between mental health issues, neurodiversity and trans capture. The NB identity is like a shield and enhanced here by the mask and glasses. That’s JMO. She’s an interesting character but she can stick her compelled pronouns in the bin.
The Imane Khelif debacle- so many thoughts and it’s hard to put into words. Someone said it’s like a scene from Borat and I can’t unsee that now 🫣
I think what’s most depressing is imagine if he really was a woman who had overcome such obstacles (gender/sex issues aside) and how inspiring that would be? A dirt-poor girl from a conservative rural religious background who broke down barriers to take the Olympic gold. Such a hero for her countrywomen and other girls around the world from similar backgrounds. Instead it’s a story of misogyny, corruption, gaslighting on an international scale and various women and girls who genuinely overcame the odds have had their place on the podium stolen. And they are bitter, jealous, racist bigots if they speak out. That’s not even mentioning that they’ve had to go in the ring and be punched by a man.
I can’t get over the images of him celebrating- I can’t imagine any other Muslim woman shoving her half clothed body into her coach’s face and clamping her sweaty lady balls around his neck. Even the absolutely toe-curlingly cringe dancing was like a footballer who had scored a goal, it’s bloke-ish.

Nodded in agreement the whole way through. I wonder what are the implications of all of this for women's boxing. What woman is going to go willingly into a ring to be beaten by a man so he can get a medal for it?
It's depressing beyond measure. I didn't watch, I don't watch boxing anyway. I watched other parts of the Olympics and enjoyed them but in summary, this is what Paris 2024 will be remembered most for, by me.
There are plenty of boxing competitions before the next Olympics and the IOC won't be running those so we'll have to keep an eye on what happens. This Olympics is a lost cause but surely the other boxers and their federations etc will be campaigning for sex testing at the other competitions. If he retires it's going to be so suspicious.
When this happened at THE OLYMPICS, I thought, that awful as it was, it would shake the world into common sense when they saw WOMEN, not only being beaten in the sport by men, but actually being physically BEATEN by men.
"How can anyone justify this?" I thought. "This will be the turning point - this is when the entire sports body will say "STOP THIS NOW! NO MORE!"
Micey, Micey - you sweet summer child . . . you never for a moment thought that the IOC would get behind these men, or that huge swathes of people would support them - even when one of them squeezed his opponent's breast as she sobbed in the ring, even as another woman was forced to fight when she wanted to concede for her own safety, even when a third was rabbit-punched on the ropes without her assailant (he'd stopped being a mere opponent at that point) being disqualified.
Even these outrageous abuses against women are taking place IN PUBLIC, ON A WORLD STAGE hasn't forced anyone to reconsider the degradation of the sport, the unfairness to the athletes, and CERTAINLY NOT THE PLIGHT OF WOMEN. They just don't care.

I'm going to try to 'be kind' and suggest that the breast grope wasn't intentional - but it did look very much like the way that MALE athletes acknowledge each other after a match, giving their opponents a kind of half-hug, half-chest pat, as they walk past them. I've never seen female athletes end a match by giving their opponent a sporting slap on the tit.
It was 100% intentional IMVHO and a way of saying 'I have power over you as a man'.

Please don't take offence but its been allowed to get this far because there are too many people like you that have let it thinking its harmless.If it makes anyone feel better I was completely ignorant to all this before the boxing controversy, I didn’t really pay attention to gender issues as I was a bit like live and let live, this thread and the wiki have been educating and am genuinely shocked by how this has been allowed to go ahead. There may be people defending him or spouting nonsense about xy xx etc but I’m sure there are just as many who have been woken up to the issues faced by women. And well done Imane, hope you enjoy your gold medal knowing you cheated everyone out of it, what a great achievementwhy don’t you try boxing with other men now since you’re so good?

I agree, but this has been so widely talked about (and no it shouldn’t have taken a man physically beating women to see it) but I haven’t ever seen the other issues widely talked about so maybe some good has come out of it.
I was never kind in the first place.
Why do you think that is though. This has been an issue since Semenya in 2009 but we've been shouted down, abused, slandered etc to shut us up.
