I'm sorry but I just cant believe that trans is real. Its not. Theres no such thing. Theres no "real" trans, there's no "old school" trans, no "legitimate" trans vs AGP whatever. It boils down to a biological male/female demanding to be special and pretending they're something they're not. And I have no patience for it or for anyone who tries to argue for it especially when they've been on this thread. I've spoken to people in real life who honestly had no idea about the language changes, men in women's jail, the whole saga and were outraged when I explained. If you come on here, read all the articles, the horror stories, the same predatory incidents and still decide to shove your fingers in your ears and pretend not to listen then I have no time or respect for you. Go and live your precious little life and when reality finally decides to smack you in the face don't forget we all said we told you so.

I am just so done with it.

Oh it is 100% arousal, it's disgusting. Another bug bear of mine is how some trans women seem to go for the young school girl look even when they are well into their 20's. To me those people are telling me they are just porn sick, they don't want to live their lives as women, it's all a fantasy to them.

This has all just been in recent years too, I really don't think this issues with these type of individuals existed to the degree they did even 6 years ago.

I used to meet trans women and only notice when I was up close, never noticed trans men at all. Now I can spot these male fetishists a mile off and a lot more frequently in the last year alone. Something is amiss. Still don't notice trans men anywhere though! 🤷🏼‍♀️ But they probably just look like women to me tbh

I saw Elle's post just before I went to bed. I didn't bother answering, safe in the knowledge that when I woke up I would have some great responses to read.
I love it when someone comes in to either gently or abrasively tell us we are mean, the answering posts are always intelligent and often bring up points I hadn't thought of or realised before.

She also made herself look quite ridiculous, and if you follow their rules, Transphobic.

My daughter had a transman friend, she looked exactly like a 17yr old girl
I actually noticed the 17yr old boy, transman, my daughter and me were all dressed similarly, in jeans, hoodies converse etc.
There was nothing 'man', about her, unless you include short hair, which I don't.
I bumped into her recently, 5 years on, she's now what she always was, a butch les, and happy with a gf of two years.

Another reason why the pronoun policing is such a big issue for me;

pronouns are a gateway to completely accepting that TWAW - if you are calling a man 'her' then how can you say this 'woman' shouldn't be allowed to access women's safe spaces, 'she's' a woman so why not??
How do you differentiate between 'real trans women', those nasty AGPs and any other man who says he is a woman?

(I will just clarify that, for me, there is no such thing as trans, just lots of mentally unwell individuals. No-one is born in the wrong body, you cannot change sex, hormones and surgery do not change your sex)

Trans allies would have you believe it is a small act of kindness to use someone's preferred pronouns however pronouns are such a huge Trojan horse when it comes to maintaining women's sex-based rights.

@Elle - are you there or did you just swing by to tell us we are nasty terfs? 👋

Elle got a lot of respectful replies and she agreed with a lot of what was said iirc. Some people didn't want to entertain her as they predicted she'd be a handmaiden. Seems they were right. Curious, Elle, do you have a close relative or friend who is trans identifying? Also, if you don't accept AGP as TWAW then you are in fact a TERF. Welcome to the club 😉

I'm just under 5'2" and menopause + hysterectomy (the women only thing) has shaped me quite rudely.
My flag will be suffragette colours featuring a potato on legs and my pronouns are spudself/tater.
I'm off out to shout "tuber and all root vegetable identities are valid" at bemused strangers. Back in about an hour

Can I also say, as we all know , that it's not just about safety, of course that's the biggest thing, but privacy and dignity come into it too.

I have loads of lovely guy friends, but no I do not want them in my toilets or changing rooms.
Even if I was OK with my male friends there, women's rights are not mine to give away and consent is not transferable.

I keep telling my bank I identify as a multimillionaire but they won't affirm me by updating my bank balance. Bloody bigots!

I am here and I didn't call anybody nasty or a terf. I said early on that I agree with many points. I disagree with others but I'm not about to be disrespectful towards someone because of their opinion. Thinking differently to me doesn't necessitate name calling. I simply said I found the thread hostile (this is true but doesn't mean every individual here was hostile towards me and I stand by what I said previously - so many of you are eloquent and witty and i'd like to underline that).

I think generally speaking GC thinking is v black and white - biological female or male, enough said, sort of thing (would you agree?). I just think there are grey areas here. If thinking AGPs are nasty and despicable makes me a terf then so be it! I think there is a huuuuge gap between a male predator sticking on a frock and wig and asking to be called Margaret and a genuine trans woman. And I OF COURSE think that women and children need to be protected but is preventing trans women (not male predators) from accessing female spaces the answer? The awful truth is that if a male predator wants to access a female space he will!

I know a lot of you think transness is mental illness but I disagree. Remember that homosexuality used to be classed as a mental illness (!!). I'm not saying I'm progressive or woke for respecting someone's pronouns. Transgender science is in its infancy and there is a lot to be learned and discovered about it.

Regarding whether I have anyone close to me who is trans, I have a trans friend (female to male) and I dated a trans woman (male to female) many years ago.

I don't think it's fair to be named a handmaiden for thinking there are many shades and layers to transgenderism. Surely you can be both a feminist and supporter of trans rights?

Sorry to anyone whose questions I haven't answered. I opened a can of worms by commenting again because it's hard to say 'I won't contribute again' and then feel ignorant for ignoring people.

Re the thread title, I think in addition to a name change being beneficial to non-GC people not getting lost here, renaming it Gender critical discussion would also benefit GC women who may not have otherwise found this place where like-minded people can share their views.

A final thought is why does there have to be a divide between someone like me who very much wants to dismantle the patriarchy and is a huge advocate for woman's rights yet also supports trans women and the people on this thread? Is it really a 'believe this or we don't want you here' situation?!

Transgender isn't a mental illness, it's simply a state of mind ; in the person's ' id'....( they may crave to live like the opposite sex) ....... it is not their Sex, though- no matter how nastily they insist and imply- and many do.

Sex is Biological- DNA ; Chromosomes, internal body organs.

That is Immutable. Your sex is immutable.

Your MINDSET , your " id" - that's something else.

As for the nasty bleeps who want violence towards Women , or who want to access Women's areas/privacy/rights or who want things changed in Society away from the vast majority to suit/expedite their ideals, or who are out to cause trouble, misgendering reporting to the Police, - No .
Act like a bleep ( or behave like one) - and you'll get treated like one.

Live & let live ( but not when it's affecting the MAJORITY in changing legislation or rights, etc) , and try to be happy - we are only here for 10 mins, really.
