I can't afford the orient express, but even they are totally captured -tRaNs is in danger uplifting parties. Not even the very strict dress code, no not for this minority tortured group.
Less art deco more decorated for a hedonistic nightclub than a vintage icon

Disappointed

Who are we supposed to be "remembering" on this Trans Day of Remembrance? All those millions tens of TiM's who bravely shouted at women who dared speak up at events held for women? All those courageous NB's who have their healthy breasts removed? The daring drag queens who fight their way through the protesters so that they can expose their roosters literary skills to little kids?
Ok, Sadiq, how about a Women's Day of Remembrance? For all of the women killed in your city, under your watch?

A minutes silence for the women killed every week by former and current intimate partners.
I don't know UK statistics but here in Australia it's an average of one per week, out of a population of 25 million.
How can people not be outraged by this? Whatever their bleeping pronouns are why aren't they forcing change for women?

Yep, average of 2 per week here in UK, it's so common that most of them aren't even reported. Almost everyone that I know, knows a woman who has been killed. I worked for a woman who was shot by her ex, as she lay in bed with her new partner (they were both killed). A neighbour lived in a flat above a young woman who was killed, along with her baby daughter, by her ex. A schoolfriend lost her entire family when her brother-in-law went on a killing spree, she only survived because she was at her boyfriend's parent's house that night. A family at my junior school were wiped out by the father, who had a terminal illness, and was "depressed". It's just endless, but obviously, we should forget about them and just concentrate on men in dresses, who REALLY need our support 🙄

That would take effort. They like no effort. Painting coloured stripes is as much effort as they are prepared to do. Little effort maximum virtue points 😖

I've heard some discussion on the appointment in gov of Esther McVey and how she might be able to stop this stuff but I doubt it as there would be real change happening by gov already. She's just going to offer some sound bites here and there when the trans lot and NHS erase women some more.

Uh oh! That trans endometriosis CEO is going to be interviewed on this morning's lbc nick Ferrari show 7am-10am

An average of 2 women per week are murdered in the UK, whereas 9 trans people have been murdered since 2008, so less than one per year and none of them were anything to do with them being trans.

I am just reading about Marlon Wayans’s child coming out as trans and him being supportive with language along the lines of “I want my kids to be free.”

I understand Mr Wayans wanting his child to pursue what makes them happy, but the way in which what’s actually involved in transition is so downplayed in favour of these platitudes is always striking to me. A medical transition means imperfect surgeries, and a lifetime of hormones with possible medical consequences. We will begin to see the consequences of more young women taking testosterone in the next few years. As one of the older out trans guys out there, Buck Angel is very explicit about this, and will straight up tell people what he has been through, how it’s not for the faint of heart and it doesn’t really lend itself to this wishywashy “be yourself” stuff. Injecting testosterone day after day can be brutal.

I can’t see this as anything other than social contagion around a very serious decision that is only for a very very small number of adults to make if absolutely necessary.

What he says about being free. I feel like being trans is the opposite of being free. You are conforming to what the ‘other’ sex is meant to be. To me it’s much more free to just be who you are and accept it. And not feel constrained by stereotypes or labels. By claiming you are trans you are tying yourself to one version of a person. It’s weird how we will say that young boys can wear nail polish if they want but if a girl claims to be a ‘trans boy’ she falls into all the ‘boy’ stereotypes. It’s so restrictive and I don’t understand this whole ‘be your authentic self’ thing as it goes against that.

Absolutely. To me being “free” would be simply accepting yourself as you are, including any “gender non-conforming”, rather than trying to approximate the other sex that you can’t ever be. Actual medical transition cases should be extremely rare. In the old days a woman would just dress and act more butch and that would be that, but now it involves a medical pathway that is not “freeing” if you read and hear a lot of the stories and many times brings disappointment with the results.

"None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free."

Unless you're Mr Humphries from Are You Being Served. Hehe
