@Metropolis

When I was 20, a friend of mine got into two "relationships" online.

The first was allegedly a guy of the same age he'd met in a gay chatroom. They spoke on the phone, and my friend didn't suspect anything although the other guy's voice was rather feminine. When they were about to meet, the other person confessed that they weren't another gay man, but actually a straight woman. Fortunately she was the same age, and otherwise "normal". My friend, who was quite sure he was gay, decided to give the relationship a try because he really had feelings for this person. Thing is, the sex just didn't feel right. He didn't like that she had boobs (duh...) - yep, sexual orientation is defined by the "bits" you like. So after a few weeks they broke up.

Second guy he met in a gay chat room was allegedly a very good-looking young man. I told my friend to be more suspicious, given his previous experience. My friend wouldn't listen. He took the train to meet this Adonis - and at the station was met by an unattractive man in his 50s.
They sat together and talked, discussing whether they'd give it a try, but my friend decided against it. Fortunately he got away safely, and had only lost some time and money. Could have definitely been worse.

All this to say that chances are there is something very, very off if your son's friends "girlfriend" still hasn't shown their face at this point. Your son's friend MUST insist on several video calls at the very least before he thinks about even keeping in contact, imo. It's all incredibly shady.
Oh, and your son's friend should not question his sexuality. He's developed feelings for words and the idea of a person. Chances are that if he met that TIM, he'd either be not aroused at all or find it weird/uncomfortable the way my gay friend experienced sex with a woman. We can love a person deeply; we'll still have a hard time enjoying sex if they don't have the "bits" that match our sexual orientation.

“Please sleep well and don’t have Nightmares (especially about the scary person with the blue beard and dinosaur shirt)”. I’m sure kids are safe with these people 🤯

Just seen that as of today, Mermaids have left Twitter for TikTok. I’m sure it doesn’t have anything to do with the younger demographic that uses TikTok.

You're more than correct. Stonewall are cowards! Obviously can't the heat from the twitter truthers.

Quoting my own post, it's more than incorrect. Meant to write "Mermaids" rather than "Stonewall". (I'm blaming my awful week!)

I would imagine that they would refuse their own category rather like the world Cup swimming where the race was cancelled. As can be seen by Ella's behaviour in MAFS nothing else matters other than their validation.

I kinda get why but also I just think in terms of healthcare it'd be easier for everyone.
---
One of the two trans patients I have interacted with at work in a hospital (both negative) was a trans woman who had bottom surgery, he said sexually inappropriate comments to a fellow female nurse, I will not repeat them as it may make me identifiable but it was something I know a woman wouldn't say, ever. I know at the time this was brushed off by my colleague but when I thought about it later, what he said was completely and utterly inappropriate. Even when they've had the full surgery, they still act like males.
I want to add to this and say they still act like males because they spend their whole lives as biological men. Even if you change gender it doesn't erase the years of toxic masculinity, objectifying of women, misogyny, etc that men are brought up to think is normal acceptable behaviour. This is why I think trans should have a separate category in regard to healthcare.

No matter how much some people deny their biology it is a fact. I know full well that even if I changed my gender I'd still have 29 years of womanhood that is so engrained into who I am I can't change it even if I wanted to. I wish more people would recognise this and then I don't think the trans debate would be so much of an issue. I'm also sorry to hear about the comments you had to endure.
---
That was so manipulative, not to disclose their actual sex 😞 I bet lots of people are getting catfished online.
Anyone not disclosing they're trans is selfish IMO. Why lead someone on like that? Like just go date people who are open to trans people.

Reminds me of how it always made me laugh the whole 'if you don't want to date trans people, you're transphobic' balls. It's such a ridiculous statement to make. Like no I don't wanna date them because it's not my thing, end of, no debate.

RAPISTS WRONGLY LABELLED AS ‘WOMEN’ BY POLICE - Police adopt self-declared gender of alleged sex attackers, despite Home Secretary telling them not to.

By Hayley Dixon Special Correspondent
Charles Hymas Home Affairs Editor
6 October 2023, The Telegraph

Police have wrongly labelled hundreds of suspected rapists as women, The Telegraph can reveal – despite the Home Secretary saying they should not do so.

Figures obtained under the Freedom of Information (FoI) Act show for the first time the scale of police adopting the self-declared gender of alleged sex attackers.

Over the past four years, police forces have referred 260 “females” to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to consider a charge of grape.

A further 209 suspects have been recorded with an “unknown” sex, which is understood to include those who identify as non-binary.

By law, grape can only be committed by a biological male.

It comes after the row earlier this year over trans rapist Isla Bryson, who was initially sent to a Scottish women’s prison before being moved to a men’s jail following an outcry.

Suella Braverman has said the practice of labelling grape suspects as women is wrong. Last year, she told police forces they should adopt a “common sense” approach to policing.

She told The Telegraph earlier this year that “in no instance” was it biologically or legally right for a rapist to be described as a “she”.

“Not only is that wrong because a woman cannot legally be a rapist, but also it’s grossly insensitive and insulting to the victims of grape who are biological women,” she said.

A source close to the Home Secretary said: “Only men can be rapists and official police information should be reflecting that wherever appropriate – anything else is a nonsense.”

Campaigners say that the system is an “insult” to victims of sexual violence and means that the data is “useless” in assessing risk and tackling offending.

The figures will pile pressure on the Government to force police to record a suspect’s biological sex, rather than allowing them to decide which gender they are, as that data is then repeated throughout the criminal justice system.

In response to an FoI request, the CPS revealed that since 2019, about 1.5 per cent of grape suspects referred for a charging decision were recorded by police as “female” and around 1.2 per cent “unknown”.

The number of alleged rapists with an “unknown” gender has risen from around one or two a year a decade ago to 71 referrals last year.

The figures show that in 2019, 40 “females” were referred for grape by police to the CPS and 17 were charged.

In 2020, 56 were referred and the prosecutors decided to charge 46.

In 2021, they received 81 referrals and charged 29 and in 2022, they had 64 referrals and charged 26.

Between January and March this year, the latest data available, 19 “female” grape suspects were referred and five were charged. The figures reflect the gender recorded by police forces across the country.

Guidance on the CPS website states that grape involves penetration “by a pen, therefore a woman can only commit this offence as an accomplice”.

Documented cases of women being charged as an accomplice are rare.

‘Absolute travesty for victims’
The latest figures come despite the Home Office telling police forces that they should be recording the biological sex of offenders rather than their self-declared gender identity.

However, it remains voluntary guidance and there is no date for when the order will become mandatory. The way in which gender is recorded remains down to each individual force.

Research by Keep Prisons Single Sex (KPSS) shows that in 2022, of the 26 forces that responded to their FoI requests, 22 recorded sex based on a person’s gender identity – with 20 of those doing so on that basis however the person wanted to identify.

Of the 13 forces that answered questions on non-binary suspects, seven forces recorded them in a third category including “other”.

Dr Kate Coleman, director of KPSS, said that “the data is rendered useless”, which makes it impossible to “formulate a proper response at any level of criminal justice”.

“Sex registered at birth is the most salient variable for offending and risk,” she said.

“To decide to record somebody as something else and then just pretend that is sex is just ludicrous.

“It is also an absolute travesty for the victims. If these are men being recorded as women, then these victims have had the most gut-wrenching, visceral, and accurate experience of that person’s sex registered at birth.

“To have that dressed up as actually no, that is a woman, is a complete betrayal.”

Police and prosecutors have been repeatedly criticised over cases in which rapists have been allowed to self-identify as women in court proceedings.

Convicted paedophile Karen White, who was born Stephen Wood, was accused of repeatedly raping a woman in 2016 while undergoing gender reassignment, but before undergoing full surgery.

Appearing at Leeds Crown Court in 2018, White pleaded guilty to two counts of grape. During the case, White was referred to as a woman, with prosecutors even referring to “her pen”.

Bryson, 31, started transitioning after being charged with two sex attacks.

The jury in the trial, at the High Court in Glasgow, was told Adam Graham was the defendant’s “dead name” and the judge referred to the rapist as Ms Bryson.

In January, the jury found that in 2016 and 2019, two women had been grape after meeting Bryson on an online dating site. The rapist was initially sent to a women’s prison.

The case drew criticism at a time when the Scottish Parliament was voting to change the law to allow transgender people to self-declare their legal gender.

Amid widespread anger, Bryson was moved to a male prison.

Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister, went on to block the SNP’s gender self-identification proposals, throwing Nicola Sturgeon’s plans into disarray. She resigned not long after.

That's how I see it. I think Ella transitioned relatively young (?) and it's glaringly obvious they are a same sex attracted male. You can't hide that with a boatload of filler. And notice their mannerisms and reactions to conflict. Very much MALE.

Unfortunately straight men will never choose to be with a trans identifying male, no matter how much they try to make themselves look female. You might get the odd man who wants to experiment or has a fetish. Most straight men though, no. You may well find someone who's pansexual and isn't too fussed. But they need to accept the reality that relationships and sex are very different when you're trans.
even IF there was some astounding surgery that shaved bone, constructed convincing parts etc so that everything including hip ratios looked right.. we are still now figuring out how humans respond to scent and can do wild stuff like tell if an adult is our kin or a kid is ours via scent.. all totally subconscious.

e.g. men who father a child then spend time with the child will drop testosterone levels by a 3rd to stop them seeking variety in women and make them more likely to nurture.

women like mens scent (tested by getting men to wear a tshirt and get women to rate if its attractive or offputting scent) with correlation to how diverse the immune system of the man is VS their own, so trying to get novel immunity genetics to create healthy kids and avoid inbreeding.

prepubescent girls (this one is weird to me but a guy I know tried to use it to say in a divorce that his daughters couldn't stay in the house with their step dad) will launch premature puberty if they wind up around genetically diverse adult males rather than their dad/brother/uncle etc

can you *imagine* how many signals would drive a straight man away from another straight man who just visually mimics a woman?
we probably will learn a bunch over the next 10 years

Also, has anyone else watched the Neil De Grasse Tyson Triggernometry episode? Once it gets to gender, Tyson ignores everything he's ever said on critical thinking and says the most stupid things. (Conflates sex/gender, infers same-sex spaces is similar to Jim Crow). And generally throughout the show, he talks non-stop, often waffling (and with gender, waffling inaccurate bull), and makes it difficult for the hosts to interject with anything. He's clearly in love with the sound of his own voice.

yeah - I love Bill Burrs impression of Tyson, PopStar of the science world, always talking with non-scientists

The thing is with this kind of surface-level thinking it doesn't leave room for actual debate. They claim everything is transphobic because they have no reasoning and haven't bothered to do any research outside the 'trans women are women, trans men are men'. The statement itself isn't even agreed on within the trans community, there are many trans men and women who know they are biologically male/female and would never do anything to make other people of the opposite biological sex uncomfortable and on the other hand, you have the ones who think the world owes them a favour and they can do whatever they like.

I don't even disagree with her tbh because Rishi doesn't care about women's safety. He's just going for the current demographic being hated on the most and saying what people want to hear for votes. He should be addressing actual problems this country is facing rather than stirring up more hate towards 0.5% of the population. It's also a good way to create more a divide between people, it's incredibly transparent.

I think because of how loud TRAs are it's easy to forget that trans people are a tiny minority in this country. Trans women on female wards isn't even an issue, the NHS is crumbling and they're worried about less than 0.5% of trans women who take up no space at all on female wards. There has been no complaints about trans women in female wards so it doesn't make sense to talk about it... Maybe he should be addressing more pressing issues that the NHS is facing right now.

This is ultimately my issue with all of this gender ideology nonsense, it has brought attention to a group of people who weren't hurting anybody before this. Now it gives men the opportunity to put on a dress, go grape a woman and then claim to be trans so that the TRAs will inevitably back them up so they can either get a lighter sentence or be put in a female prison. It also increases hate crimes towards trans people, the majority of whom have done nothing wrong and are just living their normal lives.

This whole gender ideology and trans debate is a result of unnecessary activism and forcing people to believe in what they say. It's also an issue that they get to dictate what language we can and should be using. We don't need to state a woman is pregnant, it is common sense that only women can get pregnant. Honestly, before all this did anybody really care? 🙄 They've literally made it a problem and now the UK government is chipping in their 2 pennys worth and it's just as unnecessary and irrelevant as the TRAs stance on anything should be.

Sad that this is what our PM is talking about whilst we're in a cost of living crisis, there are strikes across all our public service industries, people are worried about heating their homes, and the rest. There are definitely more important things.

Tbf if you're on a female ward you will likely never share that space with a trans person anyway considering they are a small percentage of the population and not all of them are trans women. If there was a trans man (bio woman) on the ward would you feel the same? You'd likely not be able to tell they're actually a biological woman. Idk but trans men seem to pass a lot better.

If trans men are banned from male-only wards there's going to be men in your space anyway, even if they're bio women if they've had bottom surgery they have a pen and look like a man. Idk how i even feel about that.

It's not even down to passing imo it's down to the fact that since this rise in TRA there are a lot of trans-fakers atm that are just men with autogynephilia who now feel it's acceptable for them to crossdress and wear their fetish in public. The more people see that the better, these grown men who are 'suddenly' trans have been cross-dressing and dreaming of the day they can use the women's bathroom for years.

I genuinely think this is why trans men aren't an issue or really spoken about much at all. They know how it feels to be a woman so they wouldn't infringe on their spaces once they reach a certain stage in there transition.
I left the UK by 2005 so don't know much about Sunak at all but even if this stuff didn't affect women the damage to kids and teens is astounding and as yet unquantifiable because this is the first broad social movement (i.e. not incredibly niche) where such powerful drugs, life altering hormones and horrifyingly gorey and unsuccessful surgeries are described as "care" and accepted as being helpful by countless millions who have often not even seen photos or read the logistics of what they want to make available to 16 to 19 year olds or ~10-15 year olds in the case of blockers.
why would that not motivate the guy if he has information at his fingertips ?

I despair at how fragmented the GC movement is and think for any momentum to save tens of thousands of kids from infertility, suicide, premature death wins need to be taken anywhere they can be found and political difference over economic policy, religion, immigration and so on have to be put to the side before human society has irreparably destroyed all sensible notions of what males and females are and what is safe for young people.

I would love for any government in countries including the UK but which stemmed from the UK to have a win thats largely down to not calling this horror show "Care" so that it emboldens other politicians to cite that change and push for it locally.

I see your points about the probability of encountering problems on a ward- I'm coming from a bit of a different angle, I have daughters & some of the families we met through their kinder and early schooling have had to yank them from programs and therapists because , for just one example, autism was construed as maleness and a kid who is prone to being led was getting gradually convinced to socially transition but veered away immediately one they stopped seeing their "Art Therapist"

Another friend of my eldest is adopted & we think potentially has borderline personality disorder from knowing her bio dad is in jail and her foster/adoptive parents have her in a different tier of worth vs their genetic Son so in her search for identity is presenting as male which is *thrilling* her woke parents who run rainbow rallies around here (Australia) and our daughter was super upset and showed us her texts recently as this kid was excited they thought they'd gotten access to some testosterone illegally at age 12

I follow this YT guy who was a Transwoman for a time probably due to BPD also (no stable sense of identity so the thought of a constructed new identity is very appealing) and Youtube have struck loads of his stuff down but he talks about his own vitiligo, busted nerves (had to give up music), pain, insomnia and how the therapists who gave him estrogen before he stopped and detransitioned have no desire to help him or admit culpability.
He reviews studies into horrendous outcomes from cross sex hormones like aggressive terminal brain cancer and a litany of autoimmune conditions, has a monthly round up of the science - he does post surreal stuff and has periodic BPD rages where he says all his audience are terrible humans beings etc but IMHO it shows you the vulnerable and unstable people in this pipeline
https://www.youtube.com/@IsaacUncooked/videos

he even did a telehealth call and posted it where a doctor didn't even check records properly to know he was a male who had previously been presenting female and got a doctor to post him Testosterone within 30 minutes of making his acquaintance

he does a very insightful description of what he thinks the 5 pathways/types of being trans are

and scares the rit out of me with studies like this about a collagen condition I have, my eldest daughter does, my sister does and 50% of my fathers family line (EDS) and how girls with the condition are being prescribed testosterone

Well this got a little close to home today. My 20 yr old son has a good friend who’s a shy, sweet natured guy who was telling him he’d been chatting to a girl online (in the U.S  ) and they had developed feelings for each other. My son asked to see a picture and he said he hadn’t actually seen one. There was an anime profile pic instead of a photo (🚩) My son’s like, “this could be anyone. Are you sure it’s even a woman?”

Anyway, when he caught up with the guy today, his friend told him the person online said they’d got a confession and they were actually trans. The ‘girl’ hadn’t wanted to tell him because ‘she’ didn’t want him to be put off by ‘her’ having a pen. The friend is now full of angst because he knows it’s a bloke but now he has feelings for them. My son said, “well unless you’re gay / bi, it’s not ever going to go anywhere is it?” The boy said he didn’t think he is gay but is now confused. Anyway, the trans person is apparently pushing for them to meet up and suggested coming over here. It just sounds dodgy as hell.
Absolutely not cool to not be up front with your trans identity. It’s catfishing. Pretending that sexuality is not anchored around the genitals we are attracted to is ridiculous. A lot of straight guys don’t want a girl with a pen, so you shouldn’t trick them in to that situation. Be upfront about it.

your sons friend just needs to block the manipulative bleep. I bet he would but part of the reason why he won't is because he doesn't want to be seen as transphobic. I too have been called transphobic for not want to go out with a trans man on grindr, my reply was "I'm not assed." followed by a swift block.

I don't work outside of the home but can anyone tell me, do employers have these types of concessions and allowances for women going through the menopause or is it just for men now? I don't recall reading any articles about women being cut any slack when they were going through it, but I could be wrong?

There is no requirement to offer time off, but reasonable workplace adjustments can be requested. Things like a different uniform and flexible working.

My work doesn’t have specific time off for menopause (for WOMEN) but they do have a support group and they have put workshops on for anyone wanting to know how best to support female colleagues going through it. So a lot of male managers and younger women have gone on that (as we have a high number of menopausal women where I work). So it’s good and I appreciate it. Thankfully no mention of the non existent ‘male’ menopause.

Do people not realise that most TIMs aren't Hayley Cropper or Ella from MAFS? They're in the majority FULLY INTACT MALES. Just because YOU'RE young and your friends "pass" doesn't mean they all do.
I've said for a long time, a lot of peoples views are distorted by the fact they've only been exposed to the homosexual transexuals, who tend to pass better, and are only attracted to men so don't pose a threat to women regarding sexual assault and grape.

I noticed over lockdown particularly, a lot of support online seemed to be underlined by this and has waned since people have actually been exposed to the AGP males and realised the contrast between the two.

I have a friend from school who is a homosexual transexual and I can confidently say that he is not a danger to women, however, I would never expect another woman to disregard the fact he is a male just because I said he isn't a danger. I would feel he is a safe person regardless because I have grown up with him and witnessed things that give me that confidence, rather than thinking "oh he dresses like a woman he must be safe". For example I've seen him go against his own friends and leave them because of how they were treating a woman (which at the time was a big thing for a teenager to do, particularly when the friends in question were the popular "hard" kids).

When he first went public he got a lot of attention from AGPs and the results were hilarious as he had never been exposed to these people and when they tried to talk to him online he would demand to know their real name and ask them why the hell he would want to speak to someone never mind meet them without knowing their actual name and the AGPs were flipping their tit at him and calling him transphobic.

I think I've said about the subtler differences between HSTS and AGPs before with the name changes before too - the AGPs will go from Richard to Princess Athena Lillian-Michelle or some tit and cry anytime they're "deadnamed" where the HSTS I know we're more sensible. He goes by the shortened version of his name which everyone already used and just changed one letter which doesn't effect pronunciation, just looks more feminine in writing. The equivalent of going from Tony to Toni. The HSTS who can't do that with their name I've noticed will still go for the same initial and syllables - Richard to Rachael or Matthew to Michelle. It was the first thing that confused me with my ex actually because his name is Daniel and I assumed he'd go for Danielle.

The dress sense is different too he doesn't dress like a pornstar and inches of badly applied make up.

He keeps himself to himself and isn't out trying to promote himself as the norm, he's very much the minority and the more people get exposed to AGPs the more people will reject it which I do think seems to be happening here in the UK.

Quite a few NHS Boards in Scotland have a menopause policy for women and some councils do too
