They have to keep it going because otherwise they'll have to face the horror of what they've allowed to happen to their children. They have too much to lose to admit they made a mistake. I do think some of them were well meaning but badly advised and idiotic but more of them are narcissistic and a trans kid made them cool and special.

She has it in a nutshell there. These parents can't ever accept the reality that they have destroyed their children's lives for no good reason.
