I mean when it comes to women whose primary goal isn’t to have children by the age of 30, he’s said that ‘there is something that isn't quite right in the way they are constituted or looking at the world’. He says women ‘can’t work and have kids and be single’. He thinks the idea that women were discriminated against throughout history is an ‘appalling argument’ and that women who wear makeup in the work place but don’t wish to be sexually harassed are being ‘hypocritical’. He has worrying views about consent within sexual relationships which isn’t surprising since he’s been accused of sexual assault three times. I would say, in the scope of women, these are pretty right wing views.
My issue is that women’s rights isn’t just about trangender issues and unfortunately men like Jordan Peterson and Matt Walsh have hitched their wagon to this cause and made it seem like they care about women, which they don’t, they only care about women in their own, very small view of them.
Laurence Fox isn’t an ally of women either. Or Tommy Robinson, Carl Benjamin, that lot. There are loads of men now who are either very socially conservative or edgelords, or both, getting all up in women’s rights (because they see it as a wedge issue they can get traction from,
not because they actually believe women have a right to be equal to men) and I don’t like it, and I’m wary of anyone who’s happy welcoming men like that.
I only became really aware of the clash of gender and sex based rights fairly recently, after being punted over here from the JM threads later last year, but I know I won’t be able to get involved in any of the activism because I can’t put aside
that stuff. Others can call it ideological purity if they want, cos that seems to be the easy way to dismiss the fact that these men are
not friends to women and women’s rights; but I’ll just call it having principles I won’t bend on. I’m allowed to have principles and say no to people who make me uncomfortable, that’s sort of the point.
KJK has done some good work shining a spotlight on the issues of self-ID and impact on women and kids, not taking that away from her, credit to her for all that - but literally cuddling up with men who would see us barefoot and in the kitchen, men who gave their wives nervous breakdowns, men who are perfectly open about believing that women are lesser than men because of God’s will or evolution or whatever, means she’s also made it easy for a wide range of people to dismiss her out of hand now and refuse to hear what the real concerns are. Fine, she’s made an informed choice to do that. She’s an intelligent woman so it’s not like she doesn’t know these men’s real views on women and women’s roles.
IMO it’s more about being wary of the wolf dressed like grandma, being wary of giving a scorpion a ride across the river. It’s nice for the women who don’t need to worry about wolves and scorpions but what about us who do? And the message I’ve received is a loud and clear one:
we don’t care about you if you do. We like our edgelord men who proudly trumpet their regressive anti-women views because they know what a woman is. And if you question that or voice your misgivings about these men, we’ll accuse you of purity spirals and stamp you down as being only an academic feminist.

I’m sorry but you have to be very naive and a bit stupid to not see the contagion part of the whole movement (esp for teenage girls). Plus the whole celebration, rainbow glitter family vibe, we’re against those boring straight people, anti establishment vibe, it’s exactly the type of thing teens are attracted to. Why would adults not even want to consider that it could be a trend to jump on, esp non binary as a lot of the time all you do is become a they/them. It’s so obvious. Also, no one is saying don’t love your kids. But being real with your kids is not hate. Honestly, the stupidity with this astounds me.
