Glasgow protest outside Primark yesterday.

The comments mocking them, hardly "women" because of how the look, mocking the fact that there are more important things going on in the world etc.

Why are people so ready to belittle women instead of listening to them.

Hadley Freeman’s first ST column:
Brilliant article, sums it up perfectly.
The whole "Karen" thing pissed me off no end, of course women are always to blame for men's actions, even their racist ones 🙄🙄🙄

I’m working through my tabs and read the article that was posted in the previous thread about Emma Corrin ‘coming out’ as non-binary and she says:

“Your gender identity is so much to do with how you feel and it ties into so much of how you want to be seen or are seen by people and that can be very triggering or can make you uncomfortable if you don't feel you are being seen honestly or correctly.
"I think that it was necessary for me to be open and honest about it because otherwise I would have felt I was being perceived wrongly."
how can your identity rely so much on what other people think? You have no control over what people think, you can’t make someone think or believe something, and no matter how many people you tell, if you’re a born woman and look like a woman, people are going to think you’re a woman, so why worry about what other people think? See yourself how you want, dress how you want, but don’t get expect people to play along.

So true, so many people need to realise the difference between things they can control and things they can't.

You’re not being erased. I believe people should respect the wishes of a family member as to what name they’re buried under, what their body will be dressed in, and so on but that issue isn’t unique to trans people by any means

I've been reading and watching a lot of Gabor Mate recently, he's a doctor who survived the Holocaust as an infant and his life's work has been around trauma... he touches upon trauma and identity, and how we cling to these ideas of what and who we are as a reaction to feeling unsafe in the world.

People who feel secure and OK aren't wedded to their own identity, or other people's perception of them. I really feel like we live in very strange times where people are trying to fill some sort of void within themselves. Combined with capitalism where there's nowt left to sell to us but our idea of ourselves and here we are...

This is where this "your feelings are valid" narcissistic culture takes us. Sometimes your feelings aren't valid, sometimes they're a self-indulgent, sociopathic steaming pile of absolute unmitigated shite for which you should possibly be arrested and at the very least be publicly bleeping shamed.

I also just stumbled across a video on Twitter. Allegedly, this man was on the women’s bathroom doing man business 🍆💦

Watch him come out as trans or non binary to get away with it 😂😂😂

I am a long time lurker on this site, made an account, the lurked some more. My first post has to be this.
I'm glad this thread exists as a safe space for women, to be able to express themselves, and their fears and worries, without abuse, and yells of TERFS!!!!
I have no problem with trans people. I believe everyone should be able to live their life their own way, as long as it doesn't harm others.
But, as you all know, in these recent years, it is harming others, us, women. They are erasing everything about us, reducing us down to bodily functions, and stereotypes cliches, and invading our spaces.
As I said, I have no problem with trans people, live and let live. But they are transgender. A trans woman won't ever be an actual woman, and a trans man won't ever be a actual man. And that's fine! But this dystopian shitshow that is happening right now is deeply upsetting to me.

It’s finally happened. I’m going to have to live with this crap at work. I had an email this week from a 40ish year old bloke in IT with scraggly shoulder length hair and poor social skills. He announced he is transgender and going by a new name from next week. Everything about it is screaming AGP.

He works in my office. Thankfully on a different floor, but the thought of him wandering into the ladies loos makes me feel sick. They all have floor to ceiling doors at least, but shared sinks so still not great.

I cannot say a word as I can’t risk my job. I really want to make a fuss about insisting on single sex spaces, but the company is captured by Stonewall and has a written policy stating that if anyone objects on the basis of things like toilets (yes it’s a specific example in there) then they are in the wrong and could be disciplined.

Post on Facebook tonight about a OF/TikTok star who went from benefits to buying a house outright and car. Hundreds of comments good for her, it’s money. Yes I agree it’s her life and her money but:
Do people not realise the modern normalisation of sex work, OF and porn is coming at a price. It’s not liberating woman, it’s putting us at more danger. Porn addiction is not a joke, alone it also fuels sexual dysfunction, MH, as well as warped sexual fantasies. 2022 and despite education and funding sexual assaults and DV are more common as ever if not more dangerous especially homicidal.

i watched a tiktok video on a transgender woman. I don’t even know if that is the correct term anymore. Who explained that she had dilate her vagina everyday due to botched surgery or pay £100,000 to have the hole filled in. Not to mention the hormones they must have to take forever it’s all a massive money making scheme that doctors and psychiatrists are taking advantage of even in this country like the clinic for children the Tavistock.

I think older trans women like ex boxer manager kellie and Caitlin Jenner are really possibly gay. Because they had the sex change process and now want to date men. The sex change operation does not change someone’s sexual orientation. From their generation being around 60 years old they have a internal homophobia and feel better if they are a female?

I think nowadays younger generations it’s different reasonings and different mindsets. Lots of algorithms on apps like YouTube promoting this and doctors encouraging this for the benefit of money.

Gabor mate is great. So is dr ramani, however her work is more about narcissists.

I’m so sorry to hear that @RunRunRun It is such a shame that you now won’t feel comfortable in your own work bathrooms, that you’ll be vigilant about who else in there with you. We should be able to expect more from our workplaces.

Bit in bold- wow, this is exactly right!

With a brother like that, jealous of his sister being raped, wow, I hope she has cut the brother out of her life and is getting therapy and support. A brother like that will only bring toxicity. Jesus wept.

Seen on twitter
Silly Emma. Watch how she will say nothing against Balenciaga for child pronography themed shoots but will condemn JKR for standing for women.

Emma is a handmaiden.
