The Germany thing is really getting to me. It's so mad. I feel sometimes like whatever we do, it's going to happen here once Labour get in (and past me would have celebrated a Labour win but I'm so scared for our girls). I'm despairing a bit - I'm sure I will pick myself up and keep fighting but it feels a bit hopeless right now. Is anyone going to the FiLiA conference?

So... gendered social constructs are ancient... but nobody knew there were two sexes.

How on Earth did they know which half of the population to subjugate for centuries?
I don't understand how the person doing the voice over isn't questioning what she's saying. People of the past knew there were two sexes, they knew who to subjugate. The one sex model is about how the male/female sexes develop.

It was believed that in utero males and females were basically the same and then the male body "evolved" more so that any female babies were essentially inferior males (with a clitoris being a failed pen for example). She says this, she shows this! How is that not a gendered social construct on the basis of biological sex???

That makes my stomach turn - none of that is "kid-friendly." The AGP thing is what springs to mind when I saw that. Honestly, sometimes it feels like we are constantly surrounded by porn - online, social media channels, and now even in spaces where it shouldn't be - and it's being imposed on us. I watched a documentary on Netflix called Liberated. It was very interesting (but also disheartening) to see.
The non-binary students' exam results being recorded is weird - to me it is. How will that information be useful in school league tables? Surely it would skew/not present accurate stats? What happens if the students decide to change their minds and define themselves as being a man or a woman? Demi Lovato has done so recently. I don't think exam boards should be doing this, because I feel concern as to where it could end up. I'd feel sick to my stomach if the exam boards in my country started to include things like the ethnic background or religion of students' alongside their exam results.
These TRAs don't seem to understand things like precedence and the long-term impact of their actions - they want it now, this moment no matter what and with complete disregard of how many individuals, spaces and communities they alienate or end up destroying

I'd detest that as well. Awful, alienating sector's of society

When was the last time a prison guard in the UK was charged with that?

Wow. It feels like hating and abusing women aged 25+ who don’t conform to this ideology is so celebrated and accepted and encouraged. I cannot believe that this group think it’s totally acceptable to make death threats to people for simply stating there are 2 sexes. We are expected to be so gentle and cautious about everything we say, fearful of misgendering someone but they feel perfectly entitled to wish death on us. Make it make sense!!!

Dora Moutot and Marguerite Stern are currently receiving death threats because of the letter they published in Marianne newspaper.
You can find them both on Instagram.
Dora’s Twitter account has been suspended yesterday… 😞

Thank you. I will have a look!

Of course, hot pink umbrella.

I've just finished reading The End of the World is Flat by Simon Edge.

It's a not especially subtle satirical take on the current state of gender ideology, but it's good satire and was an entertaining, easy read given the subject matter! Would recommend.

Oooh i’m half way through this. It’s quite good, imo.

I read it and enjoyed it. My own critique is that it ended sooner than it felt it should.

I also recommend Ben Elton's Identity Crisis.
*adds to reading list*.

This is what sticks in my craw about gender ideology, gender dysphoria has been hijacked by men that want to force their way into single sex spaces and we have a whole host of organizations, universities and government bodies that are willing to help those men do that.

Those organizations are the problem, the ones refusing to engage in nuanced debate over the safeguarding issues around allowing people to self identify into single sex spaces. It's just a flat "women STFU this is happening" response and anything less than acceptance and you are a bigot and guilty of thought crime. These organizations are only pushing this as it costs them no money to be "inclusive". For gender equality they pay for a few rainbow flags, Twitter hashtag and boom job done, the org is "inclusive". How many people here have a disabled person in their workplace? In my workplace of 1200 employees there is one wheelchair user, there is no campaign to actively recruit more disabled people into my workplace, but it is all pride and pronouns. Because pride and pronouns is a cheap box ticking exercise compared to adapting a building for use by those with different challenges.
I think the P olice are ticking the TRA box for PR purposes because the public lost faith in them over the years for institutional racism, homophobia, misogyny, corruption etc. The older population don’t trust, but now they have this opportunity to “show they have changed” and capture the goodwill of the Gen Z and millennial populations. However, imo, institutionally they are still racist, still misogynistic (and now they have the TRA ideology as a way to intimidate GC women in the name of stamping out ‘hate’. Punishment is the process, etc).
I’m sure there are still some legitimate police men and women out there who actually want to solve crimes, but institutionally, they are more about painting TRA flags on riot shields and posing with blue-hairs or Izzard. I do not trust the institution one bit. Not when grape convictions are abysmal, not when pensioners being mugged without proper follow up/ convictions, not when antisocial behaviour gets ignored in communities despite 100s of complaints. Where is the old bobby on the beat? Nowhere, he’s too busy crying over someone being ‘misgendered’ on Twatter. As a woman, I do not trust them. My eyes have been truly opened because growing up I was Miss Goody Two Shoes and would have trusted authority without question

As funny as that Harry Enfield sketch is, that has to be either a wind-up, or the bloke concerned is one of the most pathetic fannies in existence. Rather than talking it over with his wife, he’s gone on a website to get asspats from sympathisers about how marvellous he is, but anonymously because…reasons. If only for your kids sake, grow a pair.

It might be a wind-up but the amount of likes it got is ridiculous.

Speaking of Reddit - 3000 likes on a 'les' forum saying how you're a bad person if you don't take fool.

At this point the word preference is worse than the word valid.

And, as a man, a bit of the sting of what women go through a lot with this - “thinking wicks are gross is transphobic”. Eh? I’ve got one and I’m sure as tit not trans. At best it’s fool-phobic. Then in terms of population it might be misandrist. But transphobic comes way down the list of what it might be - why the concern about the feelings of TiMs, but not Ms ?

About wicks... I'm a fool enthusiast and I'd rather tit a cactus than touch a TiM. How's that for unpacking a genital preference 😂.
