This is a really grossly irresponsible misquote. How can they get away with instigating a pile on and death threats like this?

TRAs are shouting that she’s advocating for a transgender genocide. What she actually said, of course, is that transition is a terrible idea because people are much better off coming to terms with their own bodies, and the fewer people who do it (especially kids) the better

I think it's time we really start outing trans threats all over social media. They are not victims (or marginalised, or vulnerable) in any way. Why in 2022 are women being silenced by men AGAIN?!

I’m sure it is a defence mechanism but unfortunately I can’t see how it will change if women continue to be their own worst enemy and to throw other women to the wolves. If you’d have told me even as recently as the 00’s that women would behave like this I’m not sure I’d have believed it.
Lots of women weren’t in favour of women getting the vote or of women having equal rights in general but thankfully there were enough strong and determined women then who didn’t let that stop them.

In a wedding group I'm in. He hasnt said he is trans, he is saying he is a crossdresser.. the comments are women falling over themselves to praise him and the vicar for being so inclusive. Why are women like this?

When someone brings up borderline examples or edge cases and says "This example proves we don't know where the lines are"...the correct response is: "THE ONLY REASON YOU CAN THINK UP CASES THAT BLUR THE LINE IS THAT YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THE LINE IS " See how it works?

They can only blur the lines with cases that fall on or close to the line because they know where the line is. When they bring up edge cases, they only know those are on the edge because the edge is clear enough for them to find...and they know EXACTLY what we mean by "woman"

Anyway, yesterdays episode was really good - not about gender but it was an interview with the woman who set up the group 'everyday sexism' and it really hammers home the privilege of men in society.

I've mentioned before it has a man in it who dresses up as a woman but still manages to look like Burnside from The Bill. Many women fawn over him when he unleashes his 'silly me, having a blonde moment' schtick but one woman has gone for him in the comments to say a woman is an adult human female and drilled down when challenged about being kind.

This is how he responded:

So all unlawful deaths are recorded against gender assigned at birth.
We have the highest rates of mental health problems, the highest suicide and self harm rates and are the most discriminated minority group in British society based on percentages of total numbers of population.
As I said NO ONE would live this life for fun, or simply to gain access to safe spaces".

The fact that he bothered to bring up his bull statistic about women is just proof of what a raging misogynist he is (and his kind normally are) - what sort of oppressed minority decides to make a point about how bad things are for them by saying how things are better for another oppressed minority, let alone lying about the stats?

If he believed this to be true then he and the rest of his ilk need to take that up with the men abusing them.
I'm sure they do have high rates of suicide but lobbing off your rooster (or not) and not dealing with the mental health aspect wont change that. Not ever.

The process for the GRC should be highly invasive, far more than it currently is! They are telling women that we must accept them in their lies and be silenced into submission - it's a disgusting abuse of patriarchal dominance. (My personal opinion is it should be abolished along with the GRA.

I am, I had a post deleted that I thought was an innocuous explanation to a newbie question about her transgender status and name change. I said we largely ignore the non-binary thing because she herself does, but that was my misjudgement of the thread. I had another post deleted related to her transgenderism or name, but can’t remember what for. This is not a criticism, just saying what happened. I was new at the time and have adapted to the thread since then.

I thought Jack was ignoring the whole enby thing now, except when she wants to accuse someone of transphobia to deflect valid criticism. I get the strong feeling that she got bored of it years ago and it was just another of her bandwagon-jumps and appropriation of other people’s issues, but trans is not the sort of thing you can easily back out of.

I do wish we could discuss her former name, because it is not a deadname - she changed it four years before she became non-binary - and may have nefarious purposes for obscuring her background, namely distancing herself from her wealthy family with a distinctive surname. I understand that there is a desire to make clear that her tattle critics are not all right wing trolls or “terfs” as she suggests.

I lurked for a very long time on the thread an was somewhat put off from joining by the comments talking about “terfs” (which is a slur) and right-wingers as if they are repulsive and any association with them is dirty. There is an arrogance among leftists when they talk with entitlement that everyone reading already agrees with them. I joined after a highly upvoted comment by someone that said basically it’s legitimate to be worried about women’s rights which made me feel less unwelcome.

I don’t argue on the anti-Jack threads as they are very established and it’s not my place.

But I do wish they would welcome (respectful) anti-gender ideology and/or right-wingers as legitimate critics of Jack, I’m sure the numbers would expand and help word get out about the evil little scammer.

Fantastic - they aren't allowed to compete in official events, so they set up their own "inclusive" competition. The women who competed did so knowingly; the whole point of the event was inclusivity.

As long as official sports bodies base their rules on biological sex (as cycling does), then people should be free to make their own minor unofficial fun competitions, no matter how absurd they may seem.

I won’t lie, any time I see that Emily person I get a really bad feeling. It just feels like bullying and gaslighting of women. Except now he’s applauded by some people and we’re being manipulated in to thinking oh poor Emily. Umm NO. I actually read someone saying it should be on the inside that counts in sport and they were deadly serious. Women yet again being mit all over from a great height, as history tells us we always have been.
