There's an article in the daily mail today about a new mini pill that can be taken any time within 24 hours and atill be effective, unlike most other mini pills that only have a 3 hour window. The article is poorly written as the headline is NHS won't fund it but the body is the manufacturer hasn't applied to be licensed by NHS.

Anyway my point in posting here was that the comments on article are absolutely disgusting.

Full of men saying "if women can't keep their legs closed..." "NHS shouldn't be for lifestyle choices..." "women should have to pay for it..." "this is where the NHS is going wrong..."

It's absolutely disgusting

I totally agree. It's quite scary really.

I do wonder how many of these men have wives or daughters and STILL hate women

I couldn’t care less about people talking about conspiracy theories so guess what? It’s not a thread I’d ever go on. You’d think the same would go for people who don’t care for this thread instead of reading it and then complaining about it. There is less hate in this thread than some of the influencer ones. Some of those are awfully misogynistic with millions of references to fishy smells and saggy boobs etc. This thread is a group of adult, mainly pretty left wing/liberal women with concerns about female spaces and sports, erasure of female-centric language and medicating and operating on children unnecessarily. Some observations on the backwardness of the whole trans movement eg most of it is regressive BS, might seem ‘hateful’ to some people but that’s about it?!

I agree. I don't believe, as some critics of Tattle have said, that this site was created just to hate women (most influencers are women so it's skewed, and there are some very active, vicious threads directed at men or male/female couples.) But some threads have this constant misogynistic language, talk about (as you said) "fishy smells" or "saggy boobs", criticising women for not filling some supposed duty to have sex with her boyfriend/husband, the constant assuming that women have had weight loss surgery ...

IMVHO, this is the most intelligent, interesting and thought provoking thread on Tattle. There is SO much to unpick and I cannot take handmaidens seriously who run in screaming 'TERFS' without contributing anything else and actually reading about why gender ideology is so bleeping DANGEROUS for women.

I've followed DR for a very long time and you might see a trans contestant every now and then, but five in one series is a LOT. The current season feels very narcissistic and self-indulgent. Someone in that Ovarit thread said the "euphoria" the trans contestants experience is coming from their drag persona being praised and appreciated, and not because of some desire to be trans - I think that's bang on. Trans contestants immediately become fan favourites, and maybe I'm being cynical, but I can easily see why someone would pull the trans card to win people over.

I’ve been aware from an early age how much men as a sex class hate women. That’s why it upsets me so much when I see women claiming that we’re “all equal now” when we are absolutely not.

Just a mouse click or a phone scroll away is a world of footage of women being abused and humiliated. That’s the invisible background to the world we walk around in. A world where men can buy access to women’s bodies. Or take it for free.

It makes me want to hold my daughter close and never let her out into the world.

Yes totally right. I don't really venture into many influencer threads (don't think I can keep up tbh) so I'm not arsed about them, but if THIS thread is speading hate towards "trans people", then what of the thousands of influencer threads that are directly about one specific person?

AGP men have no right to be in women's spaces or call themselves female. If that makes me transphobic then so be it but I'm not going to change my opinion. Someone else mentioned it but I think women are genuinely surprised to see other women speak about gender in such a candid manner. We've been forced into accepting that TWAW for so long and being overly complimentary towards trans-identifying men that I guess it's quite a shock to see people saying otherwise!

Ugh, Megumi Ogata, a famous Japanese voice actress has just won a prestigious award and when she accepted it said that she "didn't consider herself an actress", "doesn't feel like a woman" and thinks the awards should not be gendered. For context she is a GNC woman who's made her career out of male voice roles and was the the voice of Sailor Neptune (a masculine les.) Now of course social media is all over this saying that she must be trans or "non-binary." No; she doesn't "feel like a woman" because she's from a sexist, "conservative" culture with a very narrow idea of what being a woman is, and that definition was even stricter in her day as she's in her late 50s.

I've seen this repeatedly within my and other (East and South-East Asian) cultures: people identifying as trans or non-binary because they don't fit into very strict, often regressive gender roles. Or don't want to be constrained by that role eg there was a Japanese women's football player in the news a while ago when she "came out" as a transman, she said that in Japan she was not accepted as a les. Of course she's going to say she is a man if that's the only way she can love women and still be accepted. I have a friend from SE Asia who escaped a horrible abusive arranged marriage and now has decided she is "non-binary", this is mostly because she doesn't want to be pushed to remarry or to have more children which would be dangerous for her medically. And of course a "woman" is expected to do that so she doesn't want to be a woman. It's so frustrating because defining gay and GNC people as trans/nb doesn't solve the problem which is our narrow cultural view of sex and sexuality. The solution to that is to address it for everyone's sake not just let a few people try to get around it by saying they're trans
