I also saw someone on Twitter taking the piss out of Billie because she said the genitals of women in porn don’t look like the average woman’s. I think he was trying to insinuate that Billie was talking tit, even though we all know about vulval cosmetic surgery. Clearly he doesn’t. Has probably never seen a naked woman in real life.

Loved Sarah Ditum’s comment

Took me a while to catch up on 2 threads, I needed a break from keeping up with the debate for a little bit.

Unbelievable that Rosie Kay has had to endure cancellation. I hope those dancers never dance professionally again as a result.

Cancel culture is so toxic. Like with the Omicron variant doubling every two days it feels like cancellation is doubling every other day too. Toxic, escalating mess. The gender cult is a virus of social contagion, power, mental illness.

It blows my mind where we are right now. It really does.

How anyone is talking about what JKR said and not the fact men are raping women, and then being allowed to identify as women, is baffling.
Even if people were against JKR’s previous comments I don’t see how they can think that her comments on male rapists being able to use she/her pronouns and forcing the victim to do so is ok? Like, being on the side of a rapist isn’t the win they think it is and isn’t the hill you want to die on 🤦‍♀️

The handmaidens applauding this make me want to vomit.

Saw this meme on Twitter and it made me laugh

Also saw this comment - could this be used and cited to stop forcing victims to use female pronouns for their male rapist?
Also pretty sure the Geneva convention, rights of the prisoner does not actually cover coercing a rape victim into using her assailants preferred pronouns.

Billie Eilish's comments really blew up! Gotta love the entitled replies, disappointingly saw a few women defending it too - apparently, porn isn't the problem, her parents were at fault, she shouldn't have been looking at porn at 11 years old, blah blah.

As for lack of parental supervision... well, I was 11 years old almost 20 years ago and every single boy in my peer group knew what porn was and/or were watching it. And this was slightly before smartphones. It's so easily accessible and they think access to porn is a human right. I've come across too many men who are porn addicts, all of whom have been watching porn for near enough 20 years now. Is that a consequence of bad parenting? I don't think so.

Just need to come and rant here because I'm so tired. So sick of men in my life accusing me of being transphobic when I say I don't want to share a women's toilet with a man (I genuinely wouldn't mind a gender neutral toilet because then fair is fair, you know when you're going in), or that simply deciding you go by another name and she/her isn't enough to make you a woman. It's bullshit! Where the duck to do they get off telling women how they should and shouldn't feel about things that affect only them!!!

agreed, either this or they are just obvlivious. I was talking to a female friend the other day and she has the same views as us on this, her partner just can't understand "what the big deal is" if men can come into our toilets, of course he doesn't because men don't care about issues that don't affect them

We’re in uncharted waters with all this and the rules seem to just be made up as we go along, booting women in the fanny as we go along and we’ve just to smile and say sure! TWAW! Come on into my space even though I’m uncomfy AF! Compete against me in sport and beat me! Demand to examine me after I’ve been raped when I’ve asked for a female! Scream at me when I say the wrong pronoun! Wipe the word mother and women from my maternity policy at work! It’s all fine because I’m cool and inclusive don’t you know? Therefore better than you ‘transphobes’ 🙄

The whole thing is messing with my head 😩 so I’m with you. Think I needed a rant too.

I'd turn it around by asking 'what's the big deal with a trans woman using the male bathroom, the bathroom that matches their sex?'

My husband was a bit the same (thinking I was exaggerating because let’s face it, it all sounds bonkers when you say it out loud). But it took him listening to the women’s hour podcast where they interview Nancy Kelly, the ceo of Stonewall. It was an eye opener!
