Pretty sure Brian May was more progressive than most given he was in a band with Freddie Mercury from 1970, only 3 years after being gay was illegal in the UK.
Doesn’t matter how progressive you were or still are once you get old (according to this lot) the goalposts keep moving. Older gay people - especially lesbians - who see the everyone is trans agenda for non-gender conforming people as homophobic are shouted down.
I love the way his apology talks about 'all sexes and sexualities' and doesn't mention gender once. Brian May is a very clever man.
Oh that's their favourite! There was a woke restaurant near me last year that had a sign up outside last year that said you weren't welcome inside if you had covid, racist, homophobic or transphobic views. So obviously misogyny was fine with them.

Re the DM, I was also pretty TWAW and dismissive of articles because they came from the DM - I've been brought up to disbelieve anything they say that isn't provable by other means! Only when my sister told me a man in her office had suddenly demanded to be called by a woman's name and pronouns without making any alterations at all (not that I think putting on make up or a dress would make me take him more seriously tbf, womanhood isn't a costume) did I stop and think, hang on. For me it was definitely naivety and thinking that the likes of JKR were seeing bogeymen where they didn't exist - and for that I apologise because now I understand that this, in an office setting, is just the tip of the iceberg and that men really are just declaring womanhood in order to access safe spaces.

I absolutely hate that trans is lumped in with LGB. There's a prominent Irish TiM who was all over Irish news for 'coming out' at work. He said that he had discussed it with HR and they decided they needn't tell anyone he was now trans as "If I came out as gay an announcement wouldn't be made". That's totally different. If you come out as gay it's no ones business but if you were one day a man and the next wanted to use the womens toilets and be called by a different name surely people should know?
When are people going to have the balls to stop apologising to these sensitive sally types.
I could understand someone starting out being worried about being cancelled but how can Brian May be cancelled ffs. His best years are behind him, he's made his millions and long term fans won't desert him so it's hardly career damaging.....and aren't rock stars supposed to be controversial

the thing is I feel sorry for people in a way (not the mysoginistic trans ones, ofc) but without this thread I would still be on the side of TWAW , there is almost nothing written in the mainstream newspapers I read about the problems with it. As I have said, i go to lots of feminist events (like the one I went to on Saturday) all of which don't seem to understand any problem with the TWAW movement and the "self id" thing, although I assume some people are (rightly) scared to speak up
exactly, your sex life is no one's business but your own, deciding to use women's spaces and changing your name/form of address very much affects everyone else (and by everyone I of course only mean women)
Exactly, imagine one day someone being known as a man and then the next showing up in the womans toilets, you'd be deemed a bigot if you dared say anything or 'misgendered' them so of course they should tell people
To be fair, if the things being reported on now in the media about the trans movement weren't what led me to peaking years ago before any media even picked up on it, I probably wouldn't believe it either because so much of it sounds batshit.
one of my friend's jobs are insisting they put pronouns in their emails (no one in her office, nor any of their partners are trans - all of them are just he/she pronouns listed) so far she hasn't but if they force her she is going to write "cat/cats"

Just remember the green party had Aimee Chancellor and we are not even going to go into the nappy fetish along with underage furry sex that inhabits the Scottish green LGBT wing. Although in fairness for most of these group it should just be renamed blokes with dresses group.....actual gay people need not join
It seems the grape victim from the Daily Mail article contacted a local women's group asking if they knew anywhere local she could seek help. Transwomen in the group complained about her and she was sent this by the admin.
They were severely affected by maybe being left out of something that is nothing to do with them. Take your ultimate fomo and duck off. That poor woman. I hope she got some help.
