Had to listen to my senior at work banging on about how not being attracted to trans people is valid - but still transphobic and we should take a look at our internal biases. I'm sorry but most trans people never have full surgery and if you don't like rooster you don't like rooster? Do they expect people to just ignore genitalia or do they seriously think we have to start acting like a pen is a tina and vice versa.

I really don't understand the audacity of people thinking they have a right to be dated by people.

And that comment, "not half the woman I am". Yes, very bleeping feminine . The state of it, honestly.

To be fair to Nikke’s fiancé, Nikkie does look like a woman even though her face is so full of plastic surgery it makes sense now. She’s really tall but some people put that down to her being Scandinavian. Some guys maybe don’t have that much experience with women and their anatomy or maybe they feel unable to ask questions for fear of offending.

Nikkie looks no more like a woman than the man on the moon. I didn't know Nikkie until I heard them mentioned here and wouldn't have followed them as their look is not my cup of tea but Nikkie to me looks like a man plastered in makeup and completely plastic

I watch a lot of makeup tutorials on YouTube and the first thing I did the first time I saw Nikkie was Google if she's trans.

I know women can be six foot 2 or whatever, but it's very rare. I'm a tall woman and Nikkie would tower over me.

I think men don't realise the subtle cues we as women detect. If someone is walking down the street behind me at night I know if it's a man or a woman usually without looking. A bit of makeup and a "feminine" affectation doesn't change that.

There can sometimes be very tall women in the Netherlands but it's not just Nikkie's height that gives the game away I think. No way Nikkie's fella couldn't have known. One thing to kid people over youtube or social media with filters and that but in person? The guy in question must be extremely dense if he didn't pick up on it

Surely that's the entire point of dating? Everyone has internal biases, some may be fair, some are not, but attraction and chemistry cannot be learned or unlearned, it's why these Married At First Sight shows often fail.

One thing that annoyed me about men who infiltrated the make up market (Joffrey Star - the spelling is intentional, Shane Dawson, NikkiTutorials, Nikita Dragun) is how so many talentless people ended up with endless fawning (and parting with $$$) from women who don't need to plaster on make up in the way that these YouTubers do. So many of the looks that they do resemble drag. I want to enhance my features, not paint over them and stab at my face repeatedly with a blender sponge. That's not to say men can't wear or enjoy make up, btw.

This is why I love Robert Welsh. Not only does he hate all those techniques where you cake loads of product on, when asked about men in the makeup industry he's the first to point out that we don't need more male representation, the industry is and always has been full of men.

This is where the endless contouring and stuff has come from - from men who need to create new features with light and shadow if they want to look feminine. I don't need to contour my nose and jaw to look like a woman's, they already do .

I know it's a matter of personal taste but I don't understand why anyone would look at Nikkie or Charles whatever his name is and say yeah that's a look I want to aspire to. Although that kind of drag makeup look is extremely popular with young women. I don't get it

I was in the make up community for a few years when Nikkie was at the top and it was always really heavy foundation, cut crease eyeshadow, blinding highlight. Thankfully for me that look is now dated and more natural make up is a big thing in the community. I could never pull off that sort of style of makeup.

I’m much more wary about where I shop now. I body swerved Lush the other day while out Christmas shopping. Never again will I shop in there. Good idea to check the website of a company you’re buying from, it will quite often give you clues if they are pro trans. Like that deodorant company I was going to buy from, until I read on their website they ask all their employees to put their pronouns on their email. Great, I now know not to buy from you, byeee!

* I think they’re called Wild and it’s one of those organic, eco friendly products. Saving the planet but betraying womankind

"Odd looking" no I thought HE was straight up weird. I think there are a lot of unattractive beauty influencers. The one covered in tattoos (male) comes to mind. It's a sick joke that women were watching Nikkie (a man) parading as a woman and making up their faces with drag makeup as a result. Hilarious if it wasn't so sick.

I'm watching a documentary on the castrati singers (around 100,000 children were castrated in the 1800s according to estimates) - it's a BBC4 doc, available via YouTube. They're talking about how their voices differed from male and female singers, as well as the ethical ramifications of removing healthy body parts on children, leaving them with lifelong problems with bone development, sexuality and fertility. I'm wondering whether this would even be commissioned today.

Agree. I think I've mentioned it before on previous version of one of these threads but when on Celeb Big Brother 'Jessica' said as a boy she (he) was bullied a lot for his appearance. :/
