A Scottish drag queen (Ellie Diamond) got called out for doing a performance as Cindy Lou Who (the little girl in The Grinch) which, for some reason, involved pretending to masturbate. Poor old Ellie got their knickers in a right twist and decided to blame their actions on TERFs instead of taking responsibility. It's easier to blame women than admit you fucked up, isn't it? The replies are worth a read - there's a couple of p*do apologists and woke blokes who don't see any issue with kids watching drag shows, but most people rightly said it was gross and poor taste.

Ellie is pretty young and I don't think they realised how this would come across, but when you're called out on something, maybe try taking that on board instead of doubling down and accusing "cis het" people of using scare tactics against LGBT people. I mean, you're the one dressed as a child talking about masturbation. Not me.

I do actually see some rationale for a gender-neutral category but this hasn't been done for the right reasons. It has been done to pander to a small minority. It's not as though the Brits don't have enough money and resources to have male/female categories - in fact, they've actually announced new genre-specific awards which says it all, really. But hey, it's LITERAL VIOLENCE against people like Sam Smith that male/female categories ever existed

One half of the page is an article by F talking about how she set up a women only running group for a) safely primarily abs b) so that it was a safe space for women to discuss female centric matters such as period, pregnancy, menopause and any other matters which we might feel uncomfortable discussing around men.

The next column references “wise women” and of course features a trans women’s book about the reality of being trans in a transphobic society.

Sorry but it's laughable that anyone is jealous of trans people. They keep telling us how horribly oppressed and marginalised they are, but they also think everyone's jealous of them? So which is it, they can't have it both ways.

How did it get to this point? I thought we weren’t meant to stereotype genders? Dolls and pink and make up were for anyone, not just girls. And vice versa with ‘stereotypical’ boys things. Now that’s a sign they are in the wrong body?? Oh come on!! So it’s saying that a princess dress is inherently female? How utterly sexist!! The world is fucked if this is being published in black and white and is ‘guiding’ parents. A few years ago it was the opposite (and correct) message we kept hearing.

Channel hopping last night and came across "Womanhood" bbc2. Shirley from strictly was chatting to a transwoman. The transwoman had been in a r-ship with her man partner for 4 years and only told him 9 months before the wedding that she was trans because she wanted to be married with him knowing!
Shirley asked didn't he ever know? Or guess during intimacy? The lady shut her down essentially saying it was offensive to ask her that question it's not about the genitals.

You know what I’ve been noticing? The way some women embrace trans women and are full of compliments like oh you look stunning and I love your hair etc. You be almost never see men embracing trans men? It’s like there’s this pressure for women to welcome trans women in to the sisterhood but men just do not seem to look at trans men the same. I’m probably not making sense but just an observation. Men seem to be let off the hook too, no one is pressuring them to let trans men be ‘one of the lads’.

What I hate is the over-exaggeration. "Your makeup is so much nicer than I ever do it!" "You dress so much better than me!" "Wow you look so much more stunning than me, a cis-woman".

It's like they're trying to convince themselves that they really believe this.

It'll never happen - even if you can transplant a uterus in a male body, and get an embryo to implant, there is so much hormonal input and regulation that goes into maintaining a human pregnancy that cross-sex hormones cannot touch the sides over three trimesters.

I hate this idea that disabled men (because let’s face it, it’s usually men) are campaigning and fighting for the right to access a woman’s body. And people using sex workers as a means to facilitate this like their lives don’t matter.
