Homophobia and misogyny in one
What a backwards, regressive view of sex and gender. And really, the opposite is true. TRAs hate butch lesbians because they call the entire fiction of gender identity into question by being gender non conforming without subscribing to the nonsense that this makes them not female.

I honestly think few people behave more "like blokes" than TRAs - they are loud, demanding and pushy, entitled, expect to be catered to constantly and focus their aggression primarily on women.

uhmm..

"many services available to cis people are denied or are much harder to access for trans people, inc HRT, hair removal and transplant, gamete storage and fertility treatment, voice therapy, facial surgery, breast augmentation and reduction, hysterectomy, vasectomy and associated surgeries and gender affirming protheses. We demand equal access to these services. We demand an end to segregation in the NHS"

The two murders of young girls by men in the news today have sent a shiver down my spine. The sad thing is that I know that in a week or so it will have dropped out of the news- it happens so regularly that the news moves on so fast. If one of those young girls was trans we would NEVER hear the end of it though. It is so frustrating that the TRAs talking about how they're in constant danger of murder, that JK Rowling wants to kill them etc, and yet what is the news full of? Women consistently murdered by men. If they could understand this perhaps our cries for safe spaces wouldn't be treated with such derision and complete lack of empathy. TRAs are so similar to men's rights activists, honestly so predictable

what an arrogant assertion. A

You provide the statistics honey.
Why are you being so arsy? Assuming you're a woman does it not make you think just a little you are provoking women on behalf of male entitlement? If you're a woke man then I am not surprised

WTAF. No. No you don’t get a period you sick f**k. What an insult to all the women in pain every month of their goddam lives from 40 odd years!! I don’t want to be on this Earth anymore, this is too much.

It turns my stomach that this is out in the open on Twitter. I would love to see woke celebs comment on things like this. Would they still be saying TWAW? No, they’d be too busy being sick.

There's a trans woman at work. I didn't work here before they transitioned but a colleague did, and he said to me yesterday, "and when he came out everyone said, 'oh you're so brave', but he was married to a woman and they were trying for a baby and I don't think that's brave, I think you lied to your wife and that makes you a dick"
I've read many stories where the guy 'comes out' while the woman is pregnant or has recently given birth. One couple on YouTube - the guy told his wife he wanted to transition on their honeymoon. She stayed with him, but that would have been grounds for annulment, awful deception when women are vulnerable.

This is quite bizarre. Imagine being told about racism or homophobia or something similar and saying 'I don't want to think about this right now.' There is something about trans issues that makes people just want to stick their head in the sand in a way that we would never do with other social issues, it's so strange
So I'm a Dawkins era atheist - big into critical thinking, science and skepticism and i got taken by this ideaology. I think most people haven't properly thought about it, they've just gone along with their liberal crowd and believed the messages about this being progressive and the new gay. It took me about 6 months over 2020 to have the moment of no return (I looked at this thread sporadically and then went about looking at things myself, Suzie Green's TED talk, trans Reddit spaces, Mermaids, detrans stories etc). That moment of peaking was finally asking myself how I knew I was a woman (investigating my own gender identity you could say) and found it was absolutely rooted in my biological experience. Take that away and you'd change nearly everything about my life.

This is basically an anti-science movement - like flat earthers. There are some people, on being faced with the incontrovertible evidence that the world is round, that can admit that they've been wrong. Then there are people who psychologically really struggle with that, especially if they've put a lot of investment into the wrong belief.

Then there's also the realization that you have the opposing belief to your tribe. I liken it to the concept of, there's water and you've been told to build a wave, and that building a wave is the absolute best and most moral thing you can do, so you and your friends are just cranking and cranking to make that wave bigger and bigger. The wave is now huge and just at this moment you realize, shit this wave is going to destroy everything and now you are faced with two choices. You either have to turn and face the wave you've just helped build, or you can try and pretend it's all not happening and keep building that wave. This is why its probably difficult for people at the heads of orgs like Nicola Sturgeon to u-turn, because they got in by building the wave and they know turning against it could destroy them.

@maytoseptember Grayson Perry gives me the heebie jeebies. I feel like he's found that he can get away with things by acting in plain sight. It just reminds me of Jimmy Saville and Michael Jackson.

I’m so sick of seeing JK Rowling being blamed for all this as her house is well known and? It’s not the revealing of her address that’s the main issue here I don’t think. Those three showed up with an agenda. They probably wanted others to come and join their little gang to harass her further and they say the movement isn’t a threat to women.
Sorry, I missed the memo.

When did celebrities' houses become public property??? He is implying that EVERYONE knows where she lives? Is that right? So we should all feel free to pop by for a cuppa? Or a good old act of violence? WTF.

I always love to read stories written by men and their descriptions of women, the woman will be tall, blonde hair, luscious lips, thin, long legged yet petite all at the same time and have 48DD boobs. Because DD is the biggest breast size a woman can have according to men and they think the numbers are regarding breast size not the width of their back. 😂

This is mutilation. She should have had therapy to come to terms with her own body - not how other people have treated it - and allowed it to be loved as it was. To deliberately do this to yourself… I know millions of people live life in bodies that may not function in the same way or to the same degree and are happy and fulfilled, it’s the deliberate cutting off that part of yourself which is damaging to me. It will not heal the trauma.

Someone doesn’t like walking or running or using their legs, maybe they have been teased for their gait if it’s a little awkward, maybe they don’t like how they look. It’s become an obsession that they don’t want to walk. They use a wheelchair all the time, some people think they can’t walk. Others are upset they are pretending to be disabled. They want to cut their legs off. Does a surgeon cut their legs off to satisfy their wish?

it’s 2 o’clock in the morning, I’m very tired, I may have misunderstood this Twitter thread but is it just me?
I’ve seen some people on Twitter say that you can’t say that they were all women because you don’t know how they identified. Dear lord, the mind games they go through.
Here’s more on the person at the memorial.

oh also (because you guys are the only people I can really vent to about this) at the event I was at today, for the first time we were asked to introduce pronouns "if we wanted", I didn;t, was the only one who didn't. I don't know if I am overly sensitive about ti, but I do felt like I was judged for not doing so

Was just on nhs website about interuterine devices - and it doesn’t mention women once: just people with wombs.

When are people going to have the balls to stop apologising to these sensitive sally types.
I could understand someone starting out being worried about being cancelled but how can Brian May be cancelled ffs. His best years are behind him, he's made his millions and long term fans won't desert him so it's hardly career damaging.....and aren't rock stars supposed to be controversial

The girl guide stuff has shocked me. I didn’t know any of that. Just another example of how accepting trans women in to women and girl only spaces is a bad and potentially dangerous idea.

How did it get to this point? I thought we weren’t meant to stereotype genders? Dolls and pink and make up were for anyone, not just girls. And vice versa with ‘stereotypical’ boys things. Now that’s a sign they are in the wrong body?? Oh come on!! So it’s saying that a princess dress is inherently female? How utterly sexist!! The world is fucked if this is being published in black and white and is ‘guiding’ parents. A few years ago it was the opposite (and correct) message we kept hearing.
This is horrifyingly regressive.

Police Service of Northern Ireland are reviewing their partnership with Stonewall. This would be great news for the women who face vexatious complaints from the failed actor
