You’d also need that data to be disaggregated (which isn’t commonplace anyway) because I’m sure in certain countries there’s other variables eg sex workers are at a high risk of violence, lots of trans people are sex workers, therefore they are at a higher risk of violence but it’s not because they are trans as such. I highly suspect if this data were collected in the UK it would show next to nothing which is why despite the TRA hysteria about murder etc they never seem to actually ask for it to be collected. Much easier to make up stats when you don’t have real figures.

It's like they don't want the UK to be one of the safest places for trans people (which it is). Truly baffling

Agreed.
as it is things like domestic violence are barely even talked about in the UK, remember when Jess Phillips read out a list of the women victims in parliament? yes as per it needs to be trans people that are the priority

You should have saw the reaction on twitter ( yes I know its not a real place) to the Scottish Parliament voting on using the term "sex" instead of "gender" in a law requiring rape victims to have access to same sex nurses and other specialists. According to many hysterical "men" Scotland was no longer a safe place for them to stay in and they where leaving.

Agreed.

Fixed that for you!

It's absolutely astounding that we have Western men (yes, men, no matter how they identify) going around declaring themselves to be 'unsafe' because they were misgendered or someone liked a tweet. They really need to grow up and gain some perspective

What's worse is that policy makers and well meaning people who think they're being nice and progressive have fallen for these falsehoods hook line and sinker!

I know of a trans person (went to school with him) who wants asylum in New Zealand. He's a 30-something year old who lives with his parents who financially support him and seem to be accepting of him transitioning.

EDIT: Sorry, I'm also in Scotland for context.

Hope they do leave! Byeeeeee

I have always asked for a female nurse/doctor when it’s been an examination ‘down there’. Smear tests/fertility tests/child birth…I did not want a man down there. My body, my choice. I have had eye rolls from receptionists and medical professionals and made to feel weird about it. I can’t imagine being a rape victim and being labelled transphobic because I request a female to examine me. Not a trans woman. An actual female. Any trans person or man that would fight to have the ‘right’ to examine rape victims I’m sorry but they need bleeping locked up, you really do. That is FUCKED UP.

The head of Rape Crisis Edinburgh believes that woman that have been raped and don't accept trans woman in their spaces are bigoted. They should be re-educated

I still can't get over how the head of a rape crisis centre is a man. A man who lied on his job application

its the fact that they have a new job and rape crisis Edinburgh stated they would especially accept applications from "trans woman"

There have been studies ( I dont have them to hand) that the presence of a male can re trigger PTSD/ stop trauma recovery in woman that have suffered sexual violence.

I cannot comment on the statistics obviously as I have no idea, but surely this is a disadvantage if trans women want to identify as just "women", this means that none of these statistics would be accurately collected? As usual none of this really makes sense
Yeah exactly, another reason why recording someone's sex is crucial. It's in everyone's interest to do so. Strange how there doesn't seem to be much effort being made by the TRAs to record this kind of stuff, god knows they harp on about it enough...they're probably waiting for women to go and sort it out for them

I went down a dark hole the other night reading about this. Outrageous. I couldn’t bring myself to listen to the guilty feminist podcast (where they made the vile comments). But I read a transcript. Absolutely disgusting and shameful that the others in the podcast didn’t challenge this vile person on what they were saying. ‘Even bigots get raped’ and ‘you will be challenged and educated’. Rape victims need to ‘reframe their trauma’ What? What the actual duck?? You are judging a women who is petrified to be in the presence of a male bodied person by saying they are bigots and transphobes?

Says an awful lot about how hated women are in this world that even the woman running a podcast about feminism can’t even take a stand. It’s insidious and manipulative. Guy puts on a dress and demands to be around rape victims in what should be a safe, women only space. What kind of person would want to ‘challenge’ women who are in such a vulnerable state?

Makes me so angry I want to smash things (except I won’t).

His whole back story is deeply troubling tbh, these people seem to seek out positions of power and authority.

If rape victims can get over their trauma, surely they can get over the trauma (and ACTUAL VIOLENCE) of being misgendered?
