Yeah that was ridiculous and when I realised they were either a troll or a man. Its completely acceptable to dislike porn and feel uncomfortable with it. You weren't asking about how to introduce porn into your relationship ffs. I hate how women are told to just accept this because "all men watch porn!" - it's not helpful. I think I mentioned an ex who had a porn addiction and went to therapy, his therapist actually told him "some" porn was OK (bearing in mind he was addicted) and he could introduce it into the relationship! I laugh about it now but there's a lot of dangerous attitudes towards porn out there.

A lot of people fail to understand porn is a fantasy. Porn stars are actors. I watched the Louis Theroux doc on porn and a woman I still remember what she looks like she had blonde hair and was wearing a dark blue jumper and converse. She was speaking about how it’s just a job to her and she’s acting most of the time and it was amazing to see within seconds she was having sex with the porn actor and was faking to moan and she looked like she was enjoying it. Then gets up and goes on her phone after the scene is finished.

It’s their literal job to sell the fantasy. Porn stars don’t have sex like that in real life neither. Those bizarre sex positions people try to emulate are shot for a few seconds and then they move on to the next scene, also the porn actors have to train their body to withhold such positions.

Also that dude who came in here masquerading as a woman. Clearly never shared a bed with a woman in his life.

I’ve seen men saying that onlyfans gave sex workers a chance to be ‘fully independent’ and not have to answer to a pimp or an agency. I mean I just can’t. First of all only fans gets a cut of everything so no they’re not ‘fully independent’ they are using OF to provide their ‘service’, they are reliant on it. And second of all are these men so naive as to believe pimps aren’t out there forcing women to do onlyfans and taking all the cash they make? Possibly along side all the other nasty stuff they’re forced to do.

Not to mention the allegations of underage girls posting on the platform. Good riddance to it but we all know another platform will take its place. The whole idea of it should be banned.

As a member of Gen-Z, I cringe at the way I used to be when I was 15/16. I’m now in my early twenties. I used to be very much Trans Women are Women, calling women TERFs etc. I’m so glad I’ve grown from that now. I think it’s appalling how sly and subtly (or not so subtly) women are essentially being erased from society.

I just read the Jessica Alves article, it is nuts. Apparently scientists say it's theoretically completely possible to insert a uterus and for it to be like any other womb transplant given to a woman. Jessica hopes to become pregnant naturally but will consider IVF. They will have to have a C Section as male pelvis is too narrow to give birth...

Right so I just cannot understand how a legitimate scientist can deny basic biology. It's not just a case of the womb being an incubator for the baby. So much goes on inside a woman's body for this, more than we even know scientifically, I cannot see how any scientist can think it's just a case of adding body parts and cooking up a baby like a chicken in an oven.

Jessica is clearly mentally unwell and I cannot believe doctors have promised her a working womb without even connecting it to fallopian tubes. It's blown my mind. The article also quotes doctors who have said it would be unethical not to give a transwoman a womb as they are biological women.

Jessica could get organ failure and DIE from this. I can't believe this is the world we live in, and shame on any scientist praising and endorsing this, it should be against the Hippocratic oath.

I've nothing against this person as I remember when she was a man on Big Brother but but but... she could die doing this.

I know I've written essays and essays on this topic in these threads before so I won't repeat myself but just one point - I find it extremely hard to believe any medical expert worth their salt really thinks it's that simple given the dearth of knowledge about PND, PMDD, endometriosis, PCOS, etc. If they're not even sure about how some of these naturally occurring (potentially) conditions work, then I really doubt they can be confident that putting a womb into a man will work just fine. Bodies aren't Lego parts ffs.

Yeah they tried it in the 1930s and the person died very soon after. They haven't tried it since, I would presume because scientists realised it wasn't as simple as just shoving a uterus into a male body. We really have reverted on all we know and come up with some frankly worse than medieval views on what constitutes a man and a woman.

I really think scientists going along with this KNOW deep down it's futile, I think most 10 year olds would know it's not as simple as they're making out. The article talked about "injecting hormones" to mimic the female pregnant body- like that's it. They haven't even mentioned a placenta- that is an enormous omission! Even injecting hormones wouldn't be as easy as they make it sound, there's still a lot we don't know about female bodies and how much they change to grow and nurture a baby.

It seems extremely unethical to even try and put an embryo into a male body. I hope Jessica changes her mind about all this and gets some help.

Even with the slim chance that it would work I don’t think the practice would really catch on in the trans community anyway or at all, so I don’t really see the issue there personally

The likelihood of the male, human body NOT rejecting the foreign organ is slim to none. Doctors and scientists have spent tens of years trying to progress organ transplants to a level where the human body can recognise a like-for-like organ and the failure rate is terrible (I don’t know percentages off the top of my head, sorry) so trying to get a woman’s organ tissue to somehow fuse into a body which has never had a womb nor understands what it is, is an absolute waste of an organ.

Hmm I'm not so sure. It's completely unethical in my view not to mention downright dangerous. I think it's guaranteed not to work.

If this was successful I bet there would be quite a lot of takers for the op. Especially as they could then claim to he able to do everything women can do.
