Does anyone think there is substance to the theory that gender dysphoria has been changed from a mental illness to something requiring expensive lifetime medication and ever increasing surgical intervention at the behest of Big Pharma and unscrupulous medical practitioners? Something has driven this change.
Yes! And it undermines social cohesion, as does many “big issues” of today.

A fragmented populace are easier to control and extract resources from. I dont think its necessarily Big Pharma so much as the globalists thatown Big Pharma.

No I don’t think it’s anything to do with ‘big pharma’ - maybe something to do with the money making antics of the US health system and unscrupulous practitioners over there. Mainly I think it’s increased social isolation, social media, teens feeling general hopelessness about the future, the awfulness of being a young woman in a world where you get sent fool pics/deal with boys desensitised by porn all the time and to a large degree it’s TRAs being emboldened on social media sites to push their weird fetishes as somehow brave and acceptable.

I work in a primary school, my daughter just turned 7 and I am SERIOUSLY thinking of home schooling secondary education. I have thought about it a lot.
Same, although my daughter is only 1.

The plan is for her to attend the school associated with our religion. This gives me hope that the TRA ideology won't apply, but the flip side is that she'll be taught the strict gender roles of the more orthodox strains of our religion/culture. I genuinely feel stuck between a rock and a hard place here. Either be taught that girls are boys if they like cars, or be taught that girls are cooks and baby-makers.

Modern life, eh?

😔

I hope the growing pressure of not finding education suitable will mean another option of education pops up that is accessible to everyone.

All schools are well on the way to becoming academies anyway, like universities they’ll soon be indoctrination camps that put profit before critical thinking based education.

So true, what you say about universities. I'm months away from finishing my PhD and getting the merry duck out of academia.

No way in the world will I be encouraging my daughter to go to university. It's sad. I was the first of my family to go, and could be the last. How things have deteriorated in just a generation...

Same here - it was a badge of honour for my sisters and I. My step daughter is in her second year at red brick uni, being pressurised into declaring into any identity except being a straight woman. The vicious activism for other causes and politics - CRT, environmentalism, leftism, globalism is off the charts in terms of hypocrisy and bullying. Exactly as you say, it knocks me sick what has happened to our education in just 15 years.

Education may be more accessible than ever, but it is poor quality.

When something is commodified (education, medicine, literature) it becomes prey to the ideologies of the highest bidder.

The environment is the most important thing by miles but when you have mats like Extinction Rebellion doing pathetic street theatre you despair. The greens have been taken over by the TWAW crowd. These are the groups that are featured most in the media - I know there are some more sensible pressure groups but it makes them harder to be visible when those two get all the airtime.

yeh I agree, i did my MA about 7 years ago and even then seems like a different world compared to what I see on campuses now. OT but i work in the field of university recruitment (oniy started recently) and cannot believe how it is just such a money making racket now. things like letting in international students with insanely low levels of english just to get the higher fees

so babydressing is an “addiction”- how soon before this is part of the LGBT spectrum?!
Infantilisation is a real problem for a lot of millennials and zoomers. A lot seem to have an issue with responsibility and owning their decisions, and resort to infantile behaviour as a result. Maybe not to this extreme, but still.

My parents were married with kids at 25; a lot of 30+ year olds now still live with their parents because of the housing and financial crisis and are kept in eternal youth bubbles by social media allowing them to LARP online.

One of the most disturbing things I've seen evolve from this is the implicit treatment of children as though they're mini-adults and they just need time to become aware of and gain control of their body. Once that happens, what they say is gospel.

In doing this, we're to blindly accept a three year old boy saying they're a girl, or it's fine that children are exposed to kink because they just want to pat the [rubber] doggy. It's why so many people got the ick (sorry, Love Island ref) when BBC Women's Hour asked if there should be 'age-appropriate porn' for teenagers, because we recognise that no, they're children, and we prevent them from having access to adult things (tattoos, marriage etc) because they are not yet old or mature enough to understand what is involved, and what the consequences are.

In treating children as mini-adults, the unscrupulous individuals like gender therapists, endocrinologists and surgeons are laughing their way to the bank. In the Bell v Tavistock appeal, the barrister for Tavistock wants the initial judicial review reversed as this would allow for a child to be autonomous - to consent to experimental treatment. It doesn't take a genius to figure out the mental leaps that some take, to say that if an eleven year old can consent to puberty blockers, then surely they can consent to sex.

See I don't think it's 'big pharma' exactly, and I totally agree with you on the varied influences that have brought us here.

But I do think it's interesting to follow the money in the US when it comes to the provision of healthcare for trans people (I know, I sound like a CT haha). https://www.the11thhourblog.com/pos...ling-from-the-transgender-industry-flow-chart
People with Gender Dysphoria deserve better healthcare than this. Everyone does.

To be honest I actually think it's a change in parenting more than anything, this tit wouldn't have been tolerated 30 years ago (sad for the very few genuine cases but a bigger potential tragedy now) Parents want to be their childrens friends and indulge them, rather than prepare them for the harsh realities of life.

That came up on my FB this morning too. Turned my stomach to be honest. Someone commented that she was not able to grow up as the girl she is so it's only reasonable that she now needs to experience life as a little girl.

No what he needs is serious psychological support, he is damaging himself, how can he lead a normal life when he's obsessed with being a little girl. We need to stop indulging this madness.

I’m honestly so getting worried for the next generation instead of getting people help are we just gonna accept their problems and let them dig themselves deeper into a mental suffering? My university are just the same about the agenda - it makes me uncomfortable but luckily most people don’t seem to be buying into it. The internet is such a blessing and a curse.

I found this post on another forum. Its really quite frightening:

'Social contagion means that entire friend groups in my daughter’s school are coming out as either trans-non binary or pansexual – the girls, and it’s usually groups of girls, are all grooming each other. I’ve seen this in each of my children’s years across different schools.

My autistic daughter was told that she had to come out as gay or she would be excluded by her friends and that “cis het” people were privileged and evil.

Her 9 year old step sibling is collecting various rainbow flags and said her classmate saw a Newsround clip at school and saw a poster that said “Black trans lives matter” the child went to the toilet and started crying and came back and said she was transgender.

This is social contagion and a child abuse scandal right here, right now.'

I think the issue is so complex and varied that it can't be pin pointed to one thing. Big pharma and APG s are definitely jumping on the band wagon to suit their own agendas.

There is definitely a sinister under current of homophobia. Society has never really accepted effeminate gay men or butch women. I think people find it easier to pretend those people are born in the wrong body than to accept that the gender stereotypes we base our society on are wrong.
I think there's also a factor of people doing it because they can. Look at tattoos, once upon a time they were very taboo. Now most people have at least one. So kids now want to jump straight in to having hands, necks and faces tattood. Why because they can.
