If men want to participate in this debate then I have no issue with it. If men want to minimise the gender pay gap or deny the systemic oppression that women experience within the workplace then I'm not interested in engaging.

I don’t care what people earn…. because statistically I’m always going to earn more (as a man)

sigh

women don’t get the same jobs and same pay grades is the point. they are limited by their other responsibilities and often have to take lower paying jobs to fit around them. Women make up fewer leadership and executive roles in most industries.

Absolutely agree. I don't think we should waste our precious energy engaging with such spurious arguments. We are here to talk about men invading women's spaces!

I’ll bite. Surely it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out why, over the course of a professional career, a woman might not be able to match a man’s experience and qualifications that he has had time to invest into? The fact of the matter is that men progress because women do the majority of the “wife-work” so that a man has the time and space to be visible on the office and selfishly devote time to what they need to do.
I don't disagree with anything that you say, it seems I misunderstood the sense of the injustice, but I don't see how to fix it without further injustice.

I’ve seen him before. He doesn’t claim to be a woman, just likes heels and pencil skirts. It’s not a recent thing either. His shoe collection is extensive. Id allow it - like early Eddie Izzard.
I much prefer a man keeping in touch with reality by acknowledging that he, a man simply enjoys heels and skirts. As opposed to a man who tries to convince everyone he is a woman because he wears heels and skirts.

It doesn’t need fawning over but I think it’s good to show men/boys that wearing feminine clothes doesn’t make you trans. They really are just clothes.

exactly, this was what I think a lot of us were hoping for some years ago, remember when gender neutral toys and clothing started to become a thing? What a let down with what has happened

Yeah it’s not gone the way I had hoped at all.

He’s just a typical AGP who gets his kicks in pencil skirts and stilettos. All well and good, until he starts taking his fetish to work and gets lauded for it all over the media.

If it was just about “equal clothing rights” (for want of a better phrase) that would be fair enough. But it’s clearly a fetish.

I’ve seen it flash in some mens’ eyes when I have questioned something at work, for example.
I've also experienced this. I work for a small company with 18 employees and I'm the only woman. On my first day I was introduced to one man who immediately put me on edge.

I could never put my finger on why. He is well liked among the other men, he is friendly but not overly friendly etc but I also try to limit my contact with him and make sure I'm never alone in the building with him.

Then earlier this year he made a mistake that I picked up on. Nothing too serious but it did need to be fixed before going to the client. I saw that flash of something in his eyes, just briefly, but I saw it. It confirmed to me that my original feelings were right.

Lesson learned - I will never doubt myself again.

OK, so you believe it's "mighty sensible" to campaign against companies who show same-sex couples in TV ads.

You say that you have "never ever" found Christians to be racist.

You don't believe that the gender pay gap exists.

It seems that you are coming at this from a wildly different position from most of us on this thread.

There was actually a poster with similar viewpoints to you, but she hasn't posted since Saturday...the day your account started posting. Any thoughts on kink?
I'm catching up and glad this was noticed because I also thought the same. 100% the same person. I'm getting sick of new profiles popping up here just to start tit. The kink stuff was very jarring, I don't have the energy to argue back but glad there's some women here who can clearly articulate why it's an issue.

Same, this is one of my favourite threads with my favourite posters and I keep dipping out because there always seems to be an oddball at the moment. Not sure how many of them are the same person or just someone looking for an argument but it’s annoying!

I know. This thread has always been so friendly and respectful, it genuinely upset me to see all this graphic talk in favour of porn & BDSM etc.

My spidey senses started tingling when that poster said something disparaging about Emily Maitlis and Naga Munchetty (Naga especially attracts a lot of misogynistic hate on Twitter). I had a feeling the poster was a man. I pulled them up on it but they didn’t respond. The “pay gap myth” stuff is also a very male complaint. I’m sure it’s the same person.

I'm new here (& I am legit! Hopefully that is evident from what I have posted) but I found it really disconcerting when it became apparent that that person was infiltrating this space to spread creepy & damaging BS. I guess we have to be weary that this may happen which is horribly ironic. I'm sick of being hypervigilant. Perhaps we all need to be especially watchful when someone new arrives here now especially if they are saying stuff which seems off. Good it got called out today though and they have fucked off.

The gender pay gap does exist. You can search companies gender pay gap reporting online. This is matched by the same pay grade.

For instance my company has just published theirs ... salary is 28% gap in favour of men and bonus is 75% 😂😂😂

The HR manager was shocked at the results. I process them so no idea why she was shocked. Didn't shock me. Needless to day il be out of there ASAP.

Yeah, I don’t have problem with him either, I’m on the belief that people should wear whatever they want, as long as it doesn’t harm other people, so if a guy wants to wear skirts go for it, just don’t claim to be women because of said skirts.

I'll usually just scroll by stuff I don't agree with instead of arguing back, but the posts arguing a case for BDSM and porn was so far removed what we usually discuss here. Very odd. I was getting sick of seeing the same name popping up, it felt like they made a point of replying to everything to make it about them and taking great offence to rightly being told that porn is problematic 🙄

Me too, I'm trying to not get too bothered about it because I really enjoy this thread and still keeping up. These oddballs always get rooted out quickly. We're pretty vigilant 👀

I don't mind people having other opinions but when a lot of the behaviour is clearly not in good faith, it's no good.

Talking of bad faith, this was quite a spectacle. Basically a new zealand comedian filmed this where she rails against TERFs but by purposefully avoidng talking about anything that GC women actually say. She gatecrashed a GC event but doesn't go into what anyone actually says, instead she just summarises the content as boring and hateful.

As you rightly say this isn't about having a difference of opinion. It is purely about bad faith.

I just watched the clip you shared. Utterly pathetic. She isn't funny, she makes no legitimate points whatsoever and attempts to hijack an event organised by women, for women to argue for the rights of men. What a dope.
