These people yelling about it being totally fine and normal for a child to see a grown adult male's pen are extremely strange. I don't understand how they don't ever stop and think about what they're saying and how weird it sounds.
I suppose its not necessarily abnormal for a child to see their father's naked
pen, say in the bath or whilst changing... as a normal part of everyday life...
But there are and should be boundaries! Sadly I think those boundaries are currently.....all over the place!
I heartily dislike those changing rooms where you have to change in front of everyone, especially if there is a swimming pool and you have to change completely. or naked saunas etc etc...... I think it deprives me of choice! I end up changing in the toilets or showers! OK maybe I am a bit of a prude about my own personal nudity...but I cant see how this is wrong?
I dont really care about anyone elses nudity.....except......its too easy to look! I ve been to quite a few life drawing sessions in art, and got into the habit of looking at bodies! Or in art galleries, thinking of Lucien Freud and looking at and studying some of his large ladies bodies, So, I end up thinking, ooh thats an interesting tattoo over her boobs...I wonder how much it hurt! Or that body is an interesting proportion, or she has a long back, And staring....even though I know I shouldnt!
When you add children into the mix, especially young children, it is even more confusing! They need teaching about appropriateness, eg its not appropriate to run naked around Sainsburys whilst doing the shopping! They need teaching about personal space and politeness and boundaries.
How do you do this successfully if a child has an unknown
pen shown to them!
The boundaries are there, and should be there for a reason.
I wouldnt go to this gym, or allow children i know to go either......I would vote with my feet!
