Shabana Mahmood has abolished non-crime hate incidents (NCHIs) after criticism that they were diverting officers into “policing tweets rather than the streets”.

The Home Secretary has introduced new laws revoking the statutory code that dictates how police should investigate and record NCHIs.

Ministers have accepted police chiefs’ conclusions, in a review led by the College of Policing, that the current system was “not fit for purpose” and had undermined freedom of speech and diverted officers from fighting crime.

Next week, the College of Policing and National Police Chiefs’ Council will unveil a new “common sense” system to replace NCHIs, designed to ensure officers only investigate and record incidents relevant to their “core duties” of preventing and solving crime.

Thank God for that!

in really don't know how any one could risk assess their summer camp if they know they had a "trans girl"
In their unit

Some of the hysteria about "men showering with little girls" is ridiculous though as adult leaders have seperate sleep and wash facilities from the kids!
I went on Brownie camp as a kid. It was in a hostel /hall type venue. The leaders played pranks on us, including putting sweets in our shoes AND spraying our hair with neon wash-out hair paint... which meant the (thankfully female leaders) had to get up close to us as we slept to spray us so we had coloured hair streaks in the morning. Imagine a TIM leader going around girls' bedroom at night getting that close to each girl. Thinking about it now it was a violation spraying out hair back then! (1990s)... let alone allowing a man in now  to 'supervise'.

It's not even about being a prude per se, I mean if you want sex, gore, conspiracy and mayhem you can just....go read a book about the Angevins or the Borgias. Or, ya know. the Canterbury Tales. :)

For me, it's that hypersexualisation and the forcible imposition of hyper Progressive views have come to be a substitute for the much more difficult, but ultimately more rewarding, business of creating a plot, coming up with interesting characters who develop naturally, etc.

It's like, Joseph Campbell and his theories of the Universal Narratives ('Hero with a Thousand Faces', 1949, fucking life changing book). People are entertained by plots and characters which engage them on a deep level. Things like skin colour, ethnicity, culture are surface only. That's not what we really engage with when we love a story. I don't need to be a mediaeval Scottish nobleman to feel deeply with MacBeth's guilt and despair when Banquo's ghost appears. I don't need to be an Achaean warrior to feel my heart beat faster when I read Achilles' timeless meditation on the price of glory. What engages me is the deep skein of common humanity.

Modern film and content makers have got it all wrong. They think, as long as they gender switch, race switch and throw in lots of sex, violence and Progressivist views, they don't have to bother coming up with cohesive plots, themes and meanings. The Snow White remake is a great example of this. The Snow White myth is about the pain of passing from the easy fantasies of childhood into the joys but also the responsibilities of female adulthood, and how to make that journey unscathed. It doesn't need to be given a feminist makeover, because it's themes are waaayyyy older and more culturally universal than the last century or so of western feminist theory. The creators of the remake were too stupid to understand why humans need stories and how they resonate across time and place. And so they made a shitty remake which felt fundamentally light and unsatisfying, because it was.

And that's the problem with modern Hollywood and entertainment more generally. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
So well said, I am loving this dicussion.

It's also put me in mind of how I just saw a clip for the new James Gunn Supergirl movie. It looks awful. I am never going to say that the Supergirl from the 80s is good because it wasn't, it's cringy and embarrassing with some truly horrendous acting and even worse dialouge one thing it got right was the balancing of being a very powerful (literally) and emotionally strong woman while also not being a cynical, quippy mess who likes to hate on and emasculate men. It's made me so weary that the new movie is going the route it's chosen. It's like feminity and grace are a big no no now, every woman in fiction has to be Strong Female Character who just sneers at everything as inferior in the way you know the writers behind the script do.

It's like there can only be one type of strong woman and it's so tedious to me.

I feel like good role models, even fictional ones, are vanishingly rare.

I think for me this is the most shocking transformation of someone in the public eye because they just look and sound so different.
Asia Kate Dillon had what I thought was quite a nice voice and dressed in a cool androgynous way with a shaved head and messy eyeliner.

In 2023 Asia started taking testosterone and the change in such a short time is quite significant.

Facially Asia looks so different that at first I did a double take and then the voice has changed completely. I watched Asia in Orange is the New Black and saw a few clips of Billions. Was wondering what they were up to so googled last night and bam!

With Elliot Page I swear the difference isn’t this stark? With the voice Elliot has, it still has some resemblance to Ellen’s I think?

My OH is in hospital at present and do you know I’m loving it, no telly, no music, no questions, missing him and so are the cats they have had off days but I am a sure as hell loving the silence and moving about without being ask what you doing or can I have or what’s for lunch, dinner, etc you get the picture 😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's lovely, isn't it? (As long as it's nothing life-threatening).

Mr Mice goes on nautical museum holidays with a couple of like-minded friends and the house is so peaceful (and tidy!).

Absolutely agree, and no one seems to think the scout leaders shower with the kids? (Although there is suspicion around any men who wanted to run activities for children which on one hand seems unfair but then you look at the news and read all about men doing horrible things constantly)
The Dunblane shooter was a Scout leader

On the unnecessary sex in tv, which is v cringe and not titillating at all, I feel the same way about gratuitous violence. The really bloody gruesome stuff that is now fine in a 15 rated movie. People being shot, bang fall down fine but the beatings and the stabbings and dismemberings all make me shudder. I don’t watch horror films but it’s now in normal action movies that I used to enjoy. Die Hard and even Predator are totally different to the modern action films. Mainly due to the ability of special effects to look more realistic I suppose but it stops me watching a lot of modern output.

I agree but it looked as if many of the crowd thought it was funny.
I doubt many of then would find it very funny if it were their son/daughter who was the victim.

If this (and the Epstein float) is an example of modern day Irish humour, then something has gone seriously wrong over there!

Has anyone seen the Louis Theroux documentary on Netflix yet? I want to watch but am genuinely worried it will upset me.
(For context I only watched the first episode of Adolescent because it was too upsetting. Brilliant but horrifying)
Louis Theroux likened consuming pornography to buying fast food and has given me the ick ever since. Didn’t like him much to start with and that tipped me over the edge.

The AGP crowd absolutely love face masks as it hides their big massive ugly man faces.
Even with masks you can spot them off a mile away - dirty goth girl look (green/black/purple/whatever colour but always straggly shoulder length or the Neil hippy hair) smelly, in the skater jeans, generally employed at the CeX shop, or out in the wild held up by their goth actual girl hand maidens (the girls only venture out with 10 septum piercings 😆 - sorry body piercing afficianados)

As for "Being 'scared' she’s he's about to be charged over threatening to kill her his parents."
I still can't believe he got away with the death threats he made while in prison. The jury who acquitted him should have their heads looked at

I feel so sorry for his poor Mother, I hope shes safe and living her life in another country. If he was smarter, I would be more worried for her but who admits this when you may possibly be charged with making threats

"My intention wasn’t to scare the guards; I had no issue with them. My intention was to scare my parents.”
Despite everything Barbie said she is still actively trying to find her parents. “Yeah just like on social media looking for them online. I just can’t find them. I would have loved to have found my parents by now but I just can’t. It’s really annoying,” she said. "

@Metropolis as I have said before there is a lot of money to be made in this game and that is why it has took hold, money makes the world go round even in a unpleasant way. Men just want to degrade women cause it makes them feel better in their warped sense of mind, their way or the highway women are just there for their needs and wants.🦕💚🤍💜 not tarring all man with the same brush some wonderful men around and they also need to start standing up for their wives, mothers, daughters, nieces, and aunts omo
