Peter Sutcliffe was a lorry driver, therefore all lorry drivers are suspect. Also. You ever drink water?

Well, you know who else drank water? HITLER.

I mean sorry to be scathing but that's a bit tenuous, tbh I respect anyone, men and women, who set out to give back to their local community especially through things like the church, community hall, scouts, girls guide etc. Too many people these days just can't be arsed.

I think community activities for boys have suffered a lot from an overly paranoid attitude, especially working class boys, where there used to be the youth club and the sunday five-a-side, now there's nothing and working class boys consistently score the worst for mental health, educational attainment, etc.
To be fair to @Peachsquish, Thomas Hamilton (Dunblane) was dodgy as duck. I was just listening to something about him the other day and there was lots of instances of him talking pictures of semi naked boys and putting them up in his house. On at least two occasions he had boys sleeping in his van with him during over night hikes. The fact that scouts got rid of him at a time when safeguarding was pretty lax says to me there was probably more going on than that.

I think we can all agree that today's announcement has been one positive step forward in correcting the madness that has been allowed to grow out of control.

Let's just hope that other organisations start to follow.

When the Supreme Court ruling was announced last April why did it not become law when every other ruling became law why does this one need picking over? Because it is what some men want? Maybe we should start picking fault with all the other laws and see what happens.🦕💚🤍💜

And the Olympics never, ever let me be in the gymnastics. Yeah so maybe the most athletic I get is when I inadvertently drop a malteaser on the floor and there's no one around to pick it up for me but I really, reeeeeeeally want to be in the Olympics and it makes me sad.
I think I need a flag for my oppression.
The bigoted guys!

I feel your pain.

Im tired that it's assumed all leaders are "so sad and disappointed" that we've "got no option"

some of us are just relived that we don't have to wait on instructions on this anymore and a decision has been made. And we don't have to privately hope we'll not be asked to take a trans girl on camp; or go on a leaders training weekend and find we're in a dormitory with other leaders one of whom is a Laydeee like Monica Sulley
Yep.

A lady I occasionally meet on dog walks resigned as a guide leaders because she could see the safeguarding threat, no-one "above"would listen to her and she wasn't prepared to have it happen on her watch. It wasn' a responsibility she was prepared to shoulder.

I'll bet she wasn't the only one.

I'd be interested to see guide numbers/ recruitments etc to see if membership of this and similar organisations fell.

It was always the law. Ignored then, continues to be ignored. I'm not sure how many 'clarifications' will be needed before people take any notice.

Tbh with Guiding I didn't feel that strongly about it early on with the trans inclusion as I assumed it was going to be like 1 kid out of 10,000.
But then the TRAs never bleeping shut up and I'm so bored of hearing how VULNERABLE and oppressed they are and they're the Most Oppressed EVER

so now they've turned me right off their cause with their whining.
It wouldn't even be so bad if it was just the kids - but we have middle-aged AGPs joining as leaders and sleeping in the same rooms as girls - nonononononono!

Ok fair, I did not know that. @Peachsquish I stand corrected!

I hate the way these headlines are written as poor little “trans girls” evicted from an activity they enjoy. It should instead be “Girl Guiding forced to adhere to the law and address their lax safeguarding”.
Agreed.

It's always the same. The poor menz can't use the toilets/ changing rooms/ whatever where they feel most comfortable.
Never mind the women.

If it was up to the men not all I haste to add we would be at the kitchen sink constantly pregnant and his house his rules, but handmaidens can’t see this. Our ancestor’s must be wondering what we fought for, it really wasn’t that long ago that these hard fought rights where won. 🦕💚🤍💜

It really infuriates me when companies/councils/schools etc say the are 'seeking legal advice.' It's just a delaying tactic. The law is very plain as laid out by the highest court in the land. 'Shonky Advice Solicitors Ltd' are not going to be able to find a way around it!

I deal with a lot of charity accounts. They are all public accessed through the charity commission. The salary disclosures are eye watering. Same as all public sector with packages that cannot be matched in the private sector - they say they need to attract the best and give competitive salaries, but how do they square that with the fact they hire people the private sector wouldn’t touch with a barge pole? As in all these TRA activists who cause trouble and would be found out doing an actual job?
I often think that if the professional TRAs weren't paid to be activists they'd just be on disability. Like they can just do a normal boring job - it has to be special otherwise their health conditions will prevent them working

Nichola Sturgeon's final interviews as a MSP today, still refuses to say Isla Bryson is a MAN. Good riddance you traitor of women.
Enjoy life in the shadows.

You know what, I had to leave the school choir aged 11 because I can't bleeping sing.
Yeah, I was hurt but that's life. These so-called trans kids (and their parents) need to get some resilience because you're not going to get everything you want all the time.
exactly. wait until they have to go for job interviews and there's only 1 space and 99 applicants...and realise not everyone gets chosen all the time. hopefully soon though being 'trans' won't be the Golden Ticket it has been recently...

From the BBC article...

Campaign group Trans+ Solidarity Alliance said the update showed "inclusive organisations being bullied into excluding people against their will" and said it was a "failure of this government to live up to its promises to the trans community".
There has only been one side doing all the bullying into getting what they want!

My grandmother was 30 before she could vote, and that was only because she got married the year earlier. If she'd remained single, she would have had to wait until she was 36, when the law changed.

It's really not that long ago.

in really don't know how any one could risk assess their summer camp if they know they had a "trans girl"
In their unit

Some of the hysteria about "men showering with little girls" is ridiculous though as adult leaders have seperate sleep and wash facilities from the kids!
I went on Brownie camp as a kid. It was in a hostel /hall type venue. The leaders played pranks on us, including putting sweets in our shoes AND spraying our hair with neon wash-out hair paint... which meant the (thankfully female leaders) had to get up close to us as we slept to spray us so we had coloured hair streaks in the morning. Imagine a TIM leader going around girls' bedroom at night getting that close to each girl. Thinking about it now it was a violation spraying out hair back then! (1990s)... let alone allowing a man in now  to 'supervise'.
