The gay blood band and the continued stigma against gay men in relation to HIV is awful and I commend Gary C for standing up against it publicly.

I hope if he has any income - he pays some form of rent to his parents as if he can spend £hundreds every couple of months on pins, funkos and Nuimos, he can contribute to their utilities.

I honestly don’t think he does because Adam said that Gary never even buys his own food at home. It disgusts me.

I’m disgusted that he’s all smug in first class cabin to LA whilst spending his life in bed with his wank plushies whilst the rest of the world are struggling to stay warm. I know you read her Gary - YOU ARE A CUNT

To me it seems like Gary does not have much of a life outside of Adam and Disney and I imagine he doesn't have to contribute to rent/bills etc at home so saves his benefit money for Disney, benefits are also there to help people have some quality of life too, what would be acceptable for him to spend the money on? In terms of his anxiety and being able to prance around Disney, I think it could be different for someone with anxiety, he's doing it on his own terms and isn't forced to do any of it, whereas in a job you could be approached by people left right and centre asking questions here and there which could be overwhelming ... 🤷🏾‍♀️

I go on holiday once every three years or so as that's all I can afford so I do understand people's frustrations when it comes to people on benefits going regularly

So I watched some of the live and one of Gary’s fans in particular was behaving very unusually.

I’ve blocked out the profile photo and username but all these comments were from the same account.

She kept messaging to say that Gary had changed her life and that she wanted to send him a Little Mickey. She kept asking for a way to send it and, in fairness to Gary, he kept reiterating that there was no way to send it and that he didn’t accept gifts.

She seemed to contradict herself though as she said that she’d bought the toy in ASDA the day before but also said that she hasn’t left the house in weeks because of mental health. Possibly a ploy to get Gary’s attention?

She also posted this about losing two relatives in a matter of weeks (a brother on the 30th of November and a Dad on the 12th of October). God knows how true it is.

Very worrying. And to be fixated on Gary C, of all people…
a bulk of people who put these vloggers on a pedestal have to have something wrong with them.Gary is hardly some champion of MH issues or some LGBT activist so his impact is next to nothing. If someone has a life saving experience seeing someone dress up a teddy, doss around and get others to pay for his trip expenses, then I suggest they up the dose of what ever they are on

He mentioned in a previous IG live that he uses going to Disney and buying/collecting crap as means to distract him from his life. Which in essence is pretty sad, because it means he is aware that his life is in a sad state. But those are pretty luxurious distractions, and he's becoming increasingly blasé about them, taking for granted flying upper class and staying in expensive hotels on his friend's dime. Don't get me wrong, I think it's only right Adam compensates Gary for being in his vlogs and providing him with better views and exposure, but it seems to come at an increasingly higher cost.

I also think his anxiety issues are genuine. I say this as someone who also has a ("clinically meaningful" is the term I think) anxiety disorder. It takes work to overcome your issues though. He might be "working" on his issues whilst doing fun things like Disney or performing but he could be working on them to be a productive member of society as well. I get it, there's only a certain amount of mental endurance people get and if you have a mental illness, our endurance is lower. It looks TERRIBLE though, when he's using it on fun stuff only and claiming benefits. What I'm saying is I think I know where he's coming from and how he's able to do certain things, but yes, it doesn't look fair that he can spend tax payer money on god knows how much tat.

Agree as well that no neuro typical person would collect so much stuff to that extent. One or two collections, sure. I don't know how many Gary has though.

I don’t deny that Gary may have anxiety etc. but the way he flounces around on adams Vlogs… well I think he’s very capable of getting a job and not claiming all these taxes of our hard earned money to spend on pins. It’s disgusting.
Flouncing around on a vlog doesn’t mean somebody doesn’t have mental health issues serious enough to claim benefits, though. Mental health is not as black and white as that.

That said I still think he could show more commitment to addressing his issues- he has the strategies to manage when he’s in Disney so he should be practicing in adapting them to situations when he’s not there. He also seems to lack awareness of how it looks to viewers, talking about his anxiety one minute and then splashing his benefits (IF that’s what he’s doing) on pins the next.

I did hear that too and it did irk me also.
The thing is, there is usually a shuttle from Thorpe Park to the train station, and apparently it was not running on this particular night which I can understand is really inconvenient. But honestly, can’t imagine why they didn’t check google maps before they left. There was one comment that was like ‘so are taxis not allowed at Thorpe Park’... because he made it seem like they were completely stranded in the middle of nowhere when Uber is only about £15, split amongst them (so less than £4 each).

But he did talk about the event as if him being there was doing them a favour. How many people who work hard would love a free trip to Thorpe Park? But he just moaned and moaned. He wasn’t even actually invited, he was a +1

He is the most entitled person ever, ungrateful and undeserving. Won’t lift a figure and expects to be given so much because we must feel sorry for him.

Controversial opinion perhaps but I highly doubt he is sat at home in his room, fully of sound mind, as a “normal” and well adjusted adult. I mean look at his collecting of tsum tsums and pins as well as everything else like taking napkins and other things home from the latest WDW trip. That is quite obsessive behaviour and reflective of mental health issues.

I do think he is an anxious person at home, BUT, before you all come for me, I think he has told himself that his anxiety disappears in Disney or any other place of entertainment like a theatre, or anything child like (he could be trying to claw back the childhood he never had? Just a theory!), and he’s now told himself all this so much, he now believes it. He should be honest about this when he goes for yearly medicals because they could link him in with therapy (unless he has it already?) in which they could start helping him to unpick all this and use the coping strategies he can clearly use at Disney, but in actual REAL LIFE.

That’s what’s frustrating about him for me. Is that he doesn’t want to help himself and is happy taking benefits for so long without putting the effort in to address his mental health in the long term or even at all.

Just thought I’d put in my 2 cents as someone who works in the field as it’s not as straight forward as “well they can’t have anxiety if they can do X,Y and Z” and I also say that as someone who has anxiety myself.

My main head scratcher is, how does he afford all the merchandise and spending money? Does anyone know if Adam foots the bill for this too when they go away?
I've slowly started to notice this is the running theme for a lot of "theme park vloggers" They use this "Disney is my escapism" linked in with some sort of mental disorder and use it to justify paying thousands of dollars for a trip to Disney. Why is it that like 98% of Disney Vloggers all suffer from Anxiety or Depression?!?

Asking Gary questions relating to value for money and if things are worth the expense is fucking hilarious.

Ask the man who doesn't pay his way, great insight,

He doesn’t hang out with people his age because he wouldn’t be able to relate to them. We have experiences like careers, relationships, families of our own, travelling (beyond Disney with our mate or Italy with our parents) and interests such as culture, cooking, learning and politics. He wouldn’t be able to contribute to these discussions.

He is limited to walking around theme parks acting like a child, making jokes and buying pins. What 40+ year old wants to hang out with someone like that, it would annoy me beyond belief.

He is the kind of guy my parents wouldn’t have liked me hanging out with

My OH has anxiety and depression so I recognise the symptoms and signs. I do see them in Gary C also. However, my OH holds down a full time job and contributes to our way of living as a couple so has high functionality. He manages well with a mixture of medication, exercise, and dare I say it, trips to Florida and that includes Disney. He's said it helps him lots.

I plan everything but he said just knowing he's got it to look forward to and being there for nearly three weeks does wonders for his mental health. So if Gary gets any joy on help from being in Florida then good luck to him. The benefits Gary C gets are supposed to help with a quality of life too so if he chooses to spend it on things he enjoys then that's Ok with me too although I do think he's a bit obsessive in this regard.

Just my opinion of course.

This is the lull where he hasn't got any holidays to plan/attend or events, where surely he must look at himself and go, what the fuck am I doing?
You forget how busy he is with photos to edit (for no one). He is only a big star in his head.

He is the Norma Desmond of Youtube
