I’m painting with very broad brush strokes here but, by and large, people who collect things and then brag about it publicly are doing so because they don’t have a personality or any other achievements to boast about.

It’s something that requires very little skill whatsoever. You literally just have to have the economic means to be able buy things, which most people do. It’s not an achievement. If you are collecting stuff that can be readily and cheaply bought in shops up and down the country, and on the Internet, it is even easier (and even more tragic when used as something to boast about).

A broad but accurate stroke. Something I’ve never personally understood (hate clutter). However, I let people off who have worked hard for their money to spend it on harmless stuff as they please. The boasting is sad though, it reminds me of people who brag after paying to have a photo taken with someone semi-famous at Comic-Con. but what bothers me with Gary showing off his hoards of collections is that he didn’t work to pay for these things. His elderly parents did. When it comes to buying food, paying for holidays or paying for bills, he can’t afford it, but when he a new funko pop comes up, suddenly he is spending like Gary Cardashian. Than to brag. It is gross, a man of his age as well.

I also think that when he said we don’t have hobbies, he meant hobbies like this.He can’t see how weird it is that collecting 1000s of toys and going to Disney as his only pastimes is not weird and that it’s us who are sad for not doing such interesting things like this?Loser

Gary on his live (at 2am UK time) said it’s been 9 years since he’s even kissed someone.🫤

Surely you'd sit down and go, what is wrong with me, that's not normal? I imagine he will blame his "anxieties" but that's a cop out.

I'm not judging him for that, not everyone necessarily likes or wants intimacy etc.

But why share such personal info? What's he hoping to achieve, sympathy? Suck up comments saying he deserves someone amazing as he is amazing?

I had that live on in the background for a bit.

The story that stuck out to me is the one about a visit to Thorpe Park (maybe it was Alton Towers - can’t remember). He said he was invited to a press event for a rebranded ride that took place in the evening.

He moaned that some of the other rides were closed for the night. He moaned that there was a VIP line for legit celebs (probably people from TOWIE and the like) that he wasn’t part of. He moaned that someone from the park asked them to cheer on camera as he felt he was being treated like an extra. He moaned that they didn’t lay on complimentary transport from the park to the local train station at the end of the night, leading to people having to pay their own way, whereas the VIP invitees were apparently provided with cars.

I’ve recently been thinking that maybe we’re a bit too harsh on Gary on this thread (and some comments probably still are) but I’ve never heard such entitled, delusional, egotistical BS in all my life.

Of course they prioritised Sam Faiers or Joey Essex or whoever else was there because their picture is the one that will get the event onto the MailOnline in front of millions, unlike Gary C’s measly online following of middle-aged American housewives who watch him go to Disney with Adam and will probably never visit Britain, let alone go to this theme park. He should feel lucky to be even asked!

And why would they staff all the rides when the event was for one specific attraction? And why should they pay for you to get the the train station - book an Uber!

Case in point - about 40 people were watching this live alongside me. But he expected VIP status at a press event for an nationally-recognised theme park!

I did hear that too and it did irk me also.
The thing is, there is usually a shuttle from Thorpe Park to the train station, and apparently it was not running on this particular night which I can understand is really inconvenient. But honestly, can’t imagine why they didn’t check google maps before they left. There was one comment that was like ‘so are taxis not allowed at Thorpe Park’... because he made it seem like they were completely stranded in the middle of nowhere when Uber is only about £15, split amongst them (so less than £4 each).

But he did talk about the event as if him being there was doing them a favour. How many people who work hard would love a free trip to Thorpe Park? But he just moaned and moaned. He wasn’t even actually invited, he was a +1

He is the most entitled person ever, ungrateful and undeserving. Won’t lift a figure and expects to be given so much because we must feel sorry for him.

So I watched some of the live and one of Gary’s fans in particular was behaving very unusually.

I’ve blocked out the profile photo and username but all these comments were from the same account.

She kept messaging to say that Gary had changed her life and that she wanted to send him a Little Mickey. She kept asking for a way to send it and, in fairness to Gary, he kept reiterating that there was no way to send it and that he didn’t accept gifts.

She seemed to contradict herself though as she said that she’d bought the toy in ASDA the day before but also said that she hasn’t left the house in weeks because of mental health. Possibly a ploy to get Gary’s attention?

She also posted this about losing two relatives in a matter of weeks (a brother on the 30th of November and a Dad on the 12th of October). God knows how true it is.

Very worrying. And to be fixated on Gary C, of all people…

a bulk of people who put these vloggers on a pedestal have to have something wrong with them.Gary is hardly some champion of MH issues or some LGBT activist so his impact is next to nothing. If someone has a life saving experience seeing someone dress up a teddy, doss around and get others to pay for his trip expenses, then I suggest they up the dose of what ever they are on

I'm diagnosing Munchausen by Internet.

Which, coincidently, might be similar to a diagnosis I'd give Gary.

200+ sales! I’d guess most are for Gary’s design. Cannot stand people like him - don’t know anything about design so just buy a vector and then sign up to a drop shipping site like Printful. People are paying £20 for a poor quality tshirt and the seller only takes a small percentage so that’s why he needs to shift a lot. Etsy used to be an amazing place to source handmade, custom or vintage pieces. Now it’s flooded by lazy opportunists with zero talent.

So I was doing some internet sleuthing and - OMG, is this Gary C?!

This is an amateur dramatics group relatively close to where he lives. He would have been 17 at the time (end of 1997). If so, he was quite the dashing young chap in his younger years! It doesn’t look very much like him, but the name, location, and slight resemblance from the nose makes it far too much of a coincidence.

That’s him.

He describes himself as an activist….
Not entirely sure what he’s an activist for from that, as being gay in itself make you an activist nor giving blood.

the only thing realistically be an activist for, is being part of a group championing laziness
