Louis' hair needs to go. Soon his rat's nest / tarantula is going to be hanging from the back of his otherwise bald head. It looks gross and unkempt. They both look like hobos in their gaudily furnished home, and the things they bought are only going to contribute to that. The restaurant they raved about was tacky as hell!
I guess we are going to see a lot of insincere ads now that they have to pay so much rent. Louis' sales pitch made me cringe so hard. What a sellout. And if you don't bring your own reusable bags when you know you are going to spend the day shopping, you are an idiot, and definitely not environmentally conscious. I can't believe these people are over thirty, they seem immature and clueless.

I don't think Raya's as adventurous as she thinks she is. She couldn't cope with bus life and had a meltdown at the disappointment of things going wrong in Costa Rica so I can't see them moving there anytime soon, especially if they're juggling parenthood AND trying to build the house while based in another country.

The Costa Rica land is a bit of a weird/culty/coloniser idea in the first place.

I thought LA was a good fit for them with the sunshine and all their hippie influencer friends.
Honestly, watching them now I can’t believe Raya was ever in that adventuring/alternative living/van life bracket at all. Now she’s a rich girl shopaholic. Agree that that LA shared house seemed the best fit for them, not sure if it was COVID that meant they couldn’t stay there, or visa issues.

Don’t get me started on those two and sustainability- the flights! The shopping! The takeaways in his electric van and mounds of paper packaging. Louis is an affiliate for some “sustainable “ outerwear brand, because of course the most sustainable thing you can do is buy lots of new eco-friendly clothes. Even the driving, it’s laughable when vanlifers preach about the environment. Some people don’t even have cars because they are concerned about the planet, and you’re driving hundreds of miles a day in exchange for random products?

I agree, but I wonder if this was the case because so many other people contributed to their lives from day to day, and because those people also influenced the home and their activities. The housemates distracted from Louis and Raya as individuals and as a couple. I wonder how they are going to fare sitting on top of each other on a daily basis. I guess the baby is going to be there soon and distract them from who they would otherwise be.

I'm actually surprised they didn't move back to LA, all their hippie friends live there and Raya could be in summer dresses all year round. Though they kind of explained why - having a baby in the UK is cheaper. Begs the question how financially secure they are, they might start selling cheap candles like their friend Steve soon.

I’m wayyy behind and haven’t watched Louis in forever, and I was shocked to find out that he’s not only still with Raya but that they’re also having a baby? Wow.

They’ve always seemed like such an odd couple to me…they seem as if they’re platonic roommates. Maybe I’m way off base, especially since I’m not an avid Louis watcher, but I get the vibe that Raya is trying to be a “cool girl” and mold herself to Louis’ interests and tries to seem more interested in the things he likes than she really is…and he’s just too oblivious to notice and thinks that’s her actual personality lol.

Sidenote: I thought the “baby blessing” and gender reveal party with the mood lighting was the most obnoxious and narcissistic thing ever…they literally had people sit in a circle and one by one gas up their egos…

Totally agree! It’s unhygienic and it looks like it probably smells bad. I also think it’s a bit of a safety blanket for him, in the sense that his entire personality seems to be wrapped up in his hair.

Agree. I’m excited to see how they deal with the arrival of the baby, but still more excited for his long awaited glow up. The urge to reach through my phone and buzz cut the birds nest is painful.

Of course their last video was mainly an ad. They furnish their entire home with second hand trash, but get several gifted beds as part of a sponsorship. They are just like other influencers who will do anything for money and freebies. And another long haul flight to have a little break before the baby comes. So sustainable.

In their video, How We Really Feel About Having A Baby, Raya says that she earned her own money right up to the wedding / pregnancy, and that it is a change for her to have shared finances and Louis being the main earner. I wasn't aware that Raya had her own income. She hasn't posted on her own channel for several years, and I don't see her doing much on Instagram or whatever. The only "work" I see her doing, is on their shared channel. But Louis' channel is the biggest, gets the most ads and sponsorships, and must have been their main source of income for years. So I really don't see this as some big shift. They talk about Louis needing to find more reliable ways of securing income, and it sounds as if Raya has no plans to do anything. Moments before, they talked about the benefits of Louis working from home and being able to share all responsibilities from day one. This could enable Raya to start working again whenever she wants, but I don't think she is even considering it (I get that it's difficult when you haven been acutally working the years before, lol). I get the impression she sees giving birth as her main contribution, and that she doesn't have any responsibilities beyond that.

I'm guessing she considers doing some of the editing and hitting up brands for sponsorships her work and does so with a straight face. That's probably 2-3 hours a week, so consistent with the 2 hours of catering a week she did before meeting Louis.
Her own channel was never a success but even small channels are making a few thousands a months, plus all the free trips they got offered during a time where they didn't pay rent.
I'm sure Louis has income options beyond YouTube, he can do some filming and editing as a freelancer, then there's the income from the bus at the camping site. Will be hard for him to maintain the high living standard that Raya has been accustomed to her whole life longterm, once the YouTube bubble bursts.

I can’t watch them any more so I’m going from previous posts, but surely if Raya had a passive income from YouTube etc that wouldn’t just stop once she got married? Perhaps Daddy stopped her allowance expecting her husband to now pay for her. (Complete speculation on my part but she’s hardly Erin Brockovitch)

I stopped watching too. Who are they even making content for these days? They've done at least 5 Q&As in the past 6 months. Then the random video in Costa Rica and a gender reveal party 🤮 in LA before giving up posting altogether. And now it's just lazy Brighton drivel with endless ads. What's the plan going forward?

God their new video. Why is Louis telling Raya he's having nightmares about car crashes and the upcoming birth? Have some sensitivity!

Raya is so immature...The medical professional was telling her they should not try again in a week to move the breech baby using the same method, because it would be ineffective and a waste of time. But of course Raya was like "we JUST found out he's breech" and "I want to come back in a week" and "try natural methods." Wtf. She just advised you not to do that. Like yeah I get it's not ideal veer away from "the plan", but it's also so immature (and irresponsible) to be so inflexible in serious medical situations like this.

Raya is also using flawed logic...that's like saying "oh I JUST found out I need stitches for the massive gash in my leg, but let me wait a couple more hours to see if we can find a more natural method of closing the wound." 😑

There's something so arrogant, ignorant and entitled about ignoring medical advice and doing what you want all for the sake of being nAtUrAl and having a nAtUraL birth. Natural is not always better, and sometimes you need to choose the safest option for both the mother and child.
---
**editing to add: That's really messed up of Louis filming the medical professionals during the appointment in the hospital. Did he even ask for their permission? Is that even legal to film without their consent?

Blurring out their faces makes me think no, he didn't ask for their permission, and his YouTube channel is more important than anything or anyone else in the situation.

It's the whole 'natural is better' preachy attitude she has that grates me. Whether it's to do with health or travel or literally anything else, there's always some lecture about how her lifestyle is THE way to go about things.

Sometimes it isn't. I wouldn't do what she did and immediately dismiss professional advice because she wanted a week of lying upside down or whatever 'natural methods' she's on about. I get the situation sucks and she is acting on emotion, but the way she talked at the nurses really irked me.

Yeah, I didn’t want to say it but Raya came off like a huge diva in that video. They clearly moved back to the UK to take advantage of the NHS and it felt like she was being critical of them when they’re doing the best they can for her and her baby. You could tell she was fuming when they mentioned the doctor strikes.

Raya isn't the brightest. You expect her to be intelligent and well-educated because of her looks and background, but she's actually drawn to pseudoscience and unfounded trends. I understand all the fear, sadness, and insecurity involved in situations like this. But Raya comes across as so self-righteous and entitled in this situation. She expects everything in her life to go perfectly and has a tantrum when it doesn't.

Do you guys think the baby is already there by now? The strike was on Tuesday, so she might have gotten an appointment to have her surgery already, and I feel like they might have waited to post this video until the baby was safely born.

I wonder if her parents have cut her off since the wedding. She must have been used to the perks of private healthcare all her life, so the tiniest inconvenience now is enraging her.
Would their sporadic YouTube videos really pay for the rent of their beach house and their expensive lifestyle though? I don't know anyone on a budget who can afford 3 takeouts per day.

I admit I don't know that much about Raya, but did her parents financially support most of her lifestyle? I remember her saying in a video that as soon as they got married, Louis became the main/sole earner or something like that. I thought it was weird cos she had her own stuff going on but as soon as they got married she just...stopped earning money?

Unless they have a huge amount of savings or secret investments it's hard to believe how much they can afford. After spending most of their savings on the whole Costa Rica venture (their words), I don't get why they would choose to live in one of the most expensive cities to live in. Especially in a house that big. Maybe there's some secret investments we don't know about? idk
