Did anyone watch the latest vlog? The car basically died and he got a moving van to drive the rest of the way (guessing it was the cheapest option). He still seems so adamant about making it work, either electric or solar. It must drain money fixing everything!

I’m excited about how he deals with effect of a baby on his lifestyle. Those who do adventure a lot with babies have to really plan it, and slow the pace right down, stay at places equipped for sanitising bottles etc. The ‘problem solving’ anxiety inducing adventure that he loves isn’t really possible; you can’t have a stranded baby on a motorway in freezing weather for example. When he mentions dreams like build a solar powered van there doesn’t seem to be any hesitance, or mention of how that may work.
I guess the vintage VW Beetle he is planning to convert in the UK is going to be his baby-compatible project for the time they stay in Brighton. Although I don't know if you could have a modern car seat for the baby in the back, it's a very small car. But I agree, it will be interesting to see how Louis actually deals with his new life circumstances. I wonder how he'll cope. It will be the first time he lives a normal life for ages.
I somehow got sucked into this series and I was with him until he decided to turn north in Texas towards Dallas, Memphis, Nashville, etc. to take a more northerly route.
At one point early on he was showing his route options and one of them was pretty much a southern route on I-10 and then up I-95. That had a higher chance of success since the drive would have been mainly flat. Other than hanging out with Kara and Nate for a day or two, I don't know why he thought going through the Appalachian Mountains was the better option. He should have just flown back with Raya from Nashville and left his van with Kara and Nate.
Maybe he'll make van conversions his job like Josh from Wandering Home, selling them or renting them out. With lots of sponsored 5 star Dubai trips throughout the year. Ads for baby products probably pay really well on Instagram too.
Don't see much adventure in his near future and if so, I think he'll only do a week at a time on his own.
Why are they not at their land in Costa Rica building a house as they planned? Have they abandoned this plan?
They were only ever going to spend part of the year there as they don't like the rainy season. And now, Raya has decided that having a baby will be more comfortable in Brighton, so they are moving there indefinitely.
More financially comfortable, sure. I can’t imagine Raya going through NHS prenatal and childbirth! It’s excellent care mostly but some of the places you go to are scruffy and rough. I can’t watch their couple vlogs, and if she starts criticising the NHS I’ll get really annoyed. And he’ll be off, call me cynical, he’s even said in a few vlogs that he’s prepared to leave her while he goes off vlogging. Of course nobody knows how much a baby changes your life until it happens so perhaps they will work it out. Good luck to them but I have no interest in watching.
I'm watching the new house tour and, wow, Raya and Louis have hideous taste. I don't like their choice of colors and furniture at all. Their house is very nicely refurbished with modern appliances and Louis and Raya and their belongings look so out of place there. They are hobos through and through, even Raya. I hope they don't trash the place. They also don't have a feeling for the rooms and where to put things. I guess this never became evident before because they never had that much space to fill. I really can't see them roughing it in Costa Rica after choosing a luxurious house like this. I understand that they want to have room for guests but it might have been better to rent a small, furnished space and get a nice Airbnb for guests when they are there, it might work out cheaper than renting a massive house and furnishing it for just one year.

You can tell Raya is already in love with the boutiques nearby and the £7 matcha lattes while Louis got his man cave for housebound adventures with his dad friends.
Also Mel Wells and her boyfriend at the time were supposed to be building a community with them in CR but then Mel’s boyfriend went on an ayahuasca retreat and met “the love of his life” and dumped her. I saw him and Raya yesterday. Used to watch him years ago but totally forgot about him. Is he living in Brighton now?
I wonder if influencers ever think twice before posting a 'day in my life' vlog that shows them doing nothing but shopping and eating out before returning to their 4 bedroom house at the beach, with the biggest worry in life being not having a big enough board game selection or how to decorate the female meditation room.
I don't think Raya's as adventurous as she thinks she is. She couldn't cope with bus life and had a meltdown at the disappointment of things going wrong in Costa Rica so I can't see them moving there anytime soon, especially if they're juggling parenthood AND trying to build the house while based in another country.

Completely agree and this really came across in their latest vlog. Raya never seemed as into van life as Louis and it definitely seems like she's over it now.
I'm not surprised, but it angers me all the same that they're feeding Callie vegan dog food. I'm not convinced that it is healthy for a dog to be on a vegan diet.
Also they made such a point of shopping in charity shops for sustainability etc but then they had loads of plastic shopping bags, minor but it doesn't fit their brand or ethos. Seems a continuous theme with them.
Actually, dogs can be either herbivores or carnivores. They thrive on either - which is handy as some dogs have animal protein allergies and therefore have to eat purely plant based. My partners dog, and a friend's dog are both plant based due to allergies from animal proteins.
It's cats that can't survive on a plant based diet, their bodies need the meat.
