Call me cynical but I think this is for an insurance claim.
They left £5000 worth of tech, including “irreplaceable hard drives” on a bus in a jungle in South America? Plus “my SoulCycle and our ebikes”, how many bikes for 2 people?

They left the bus with the dehumidifier running - surely not!! And nobody has keys….
If you have your car ransacked you think about who did it. Was it kids messing, or drug addicts looking for stuff to sell? Locals or disaffected youth from the “community”? But they don’t even mention it. “I think they probably just threw the keys aside” yes I agree Louis, I’m sure that’s what they did, oh look there are the keys in the bushes there, surprise surprise.

Louis is in trouble with the design committee about where the bus is…..Nobody in their incredibly caring eco-community could ask Jose to pull the bus over a few hundred yards to relocate it while he’s building everybody else’s guest houses and man caves?
And Raya just can’t bear to think about the bus….except the whole first part of the video was about how they are going to build and live in a multilevel structure that “comes off the bus”?

No, I don’t buy it. They are setting the stage for selling that plot and getting out of Coasturrrr Reekurrrr. They are out of their depth with proper wealthy people. Understandably in my view too, I wouldn’t want to be one of the few non multimillionaires stuck out on CR with that lot. Living in a bus and a car port while everyone else builds mega eco mansions and hops back to NYC in the private jet for 3 months during the rainy season.

L&R are coming across as very fake as they fabricate these explanations. Give it up guys. Settle in Brighton and take the dolla from the vegan and electric car lobbies.

Just watched the video about the break in. I have limited sympathy, they have no idea of the privilege they both have and the deprivation experienced by a lot of people in Costa Rica.

When they were hippy vanlifers living in LA you didn’t see Raya’s immense privilege although she never came across as clever, but now she really doesn’t come across well. Rich kids now settling down won’t be impressed by their lifestyle, but they won’t appeal to more hippy types. Louis should get some sort of regular job in video creation or editing, for which he has a real flair IMO, and Raya better learn to budget and find her own life in Brighton.

How much longer does he plan to hang on to those sad dreads? They're hanging on for dear life back there, oddly discolored, while his hairline is barely visible from the front anymore but for the wild frizz that frames the head like a fuzzy 6 inch gray halo.
Apparently he's 41 now. Time flies.

She wants something like a luxury yoga retreat permanently with high end bathrooms and bedrooms and Louis would live on that bus forever
Story of their relationship, isn't it? That's why I've always been confused about people in their comments thinking they're a perfect match.
From the moment they met, they've wanted different things. And in the beginning, Raya used to still go along with the van trips and Louis' way of traveling, but if you look at their Instagram now, it's all 5 star resorts in Dubai, the Maldives, yachts and wellness spas.

Raya would have been so much happier settling down with someone rich in the suburbs of NYC and Louis with someone more spontaneous and less high maintenance who is okay with just a backpack and his chaotic ways.

Life in Costa Rica will be a real test for their relationship, once the first excitement has worn off and they have to deal with daily annoyances on top of the long drives everywhere for something as simple as groceries or a matcha latte. I assume they will still flee the country during rainy season?

I remember way back in the day like 10+ years ago, he uploaded a dreads tidy up video and he had literally sand in them and he hadn’t been in sand in a long time 🤢

🙄 OMG. Raya "broke down" because she might not be able to travel for six to eight months. She's such a greedy, entitled person. They have no idea how privileged their life has been. And what's the point of flying Neo all over the place at this age? He won't be able to remember anything.

I just caught up on the videos on Raya and Louis channel. I generally enjoy their videos to be fair, but I just can't get over how dense they are sometimes. Raya was upset because a load of plates broke including her favourite mug. Yes, that's upsetting. But why on earth are they just loose in an unsecured cupboard in a moving vehicle driving on not great roads?! Use enamel plates, get a plate rack, put the elastic on the handles to make sure they can't fly open. Honestly, they should know this? They travel so much so I always expect them to have common sense but they sometimes do just the stupidest things. This was totally avoidable.

If what they're doing isn't neo-colonialism, I don't know what is. They seem to live in a purely western community, there are no locals. Everything is designed to be fun and recreational. Yes, people grow food, but it's just a few greens and fruit. For everything else they go to a mega store, complete with an OPI nail bar and a huge department for plastic toys. They eat out a lot (they complained that they have to drive farther now because their favorite vegan restaurants have closed...). It just seems like one big luxury vacation for a group of expats while the rest of the country is struggling with poverty and drug trafficking. They wanted to buy a new car but didn't want to pay the 100k it costs. Probably hoping for a freebie. It's kind of disgusting to watch.

Under the surface they’re just a pair of posh (dirty) rich kids that never grew up. They have as much depth as a paddling pool. They don’t really care about the environment, community, sustainability. They care about what sounds good on video.

Apparently Neo dragged all the dog beds from the shelves at the store onto the floor and then rolled around on them. Louis encouraged his behavior. I think this is so rude and obnoxious. They should not be allowing (let alone encouraging!) Neo to treat other people's property this way. People buying the dog beds may not want them soiled and trampled. Raya and Louis are doing Neo a disservice by not teaching him common decency and respect towards others right from the start. But maybe they lack those qualities themselves. When Louis spoke about the spilled protein powder, you could see in the background that he hadn't swept it up, he was just going about his day with the mess still on the floor. I don't know anyone who would do this, especially with a small child running around everywhere, and in a place that isn't even your own.

I agree that Louis could have shown his architect some respect by putting on a shirt during the video call. He is generally looking like a wasted old man right now, which is unpleasant to see. A shirt, some moisturizer and sunscreen, and a proper haircut would go a long way. His hair is hideous, I don't know how he stands it. They must not have mirrors at their house.

They seem totally clueless and irresponsible. Louis didn't even have protective clothing for working on the overgrown meadow.
The model of the house looks nice enough though.
I don't understand how Raya can be intimate with him. The last time they were in Costa Rica, he worked on the rotting bus for a week while she was away at a luxury wellness retreat and when it was time to pick her up, he said he hasn't showered in a week (doing physical labor in the heat) and that he doesn't have time to do so before getting her.

He also filmed his dreads getting tightened in the past and the amount of dirt that fell out of his hair in the process made me gag.

Did you see this week's video? They are getting called out at the end for all the milk cartons they have that can't be recycled and seem completely clueless they could make their own vegan milk.

For people who go on about loving the environment, they have no idea about anything.

What do people think of the babys name?
I think Neo Earth is a bit pretentious, Neo on its own wouldn't have been so bad. But it's not the worst name either. And I understand that they find it incredibly meaningful that he was born on earth day. Kind of rich coming from people with higher than average carbon footprints.

Raya is so immature...The medical professional was telling her they should not try again in a week to move the breech baby using the same method, because it would be ineffective and a waste of time. But of course Raya was like "we JUST found out he's breech" and "I want to come back in a week" and "try natural methods." Wtf. She just advised you not to do that. Like yeah I get it's not ideal veer away from "the plan", but it's also so immature (and irresponsible) to be so inflexible in serious medical situations like this.

Raya is also using flawed logic...that's like saying "oh I JUST found out I need stitches for the massive gash in my leg, but let me wait a couple more hours to see if we can find a more natural method of closing the wound." 😑

There's something so arrogant, ignorant and entitled about ignoring medical advice and doing what you want all for the sake of being nAtUrAl and having a nAtUraL birth. Natural is not always better, and sometimes you need to choose the safest option for both the mother and child.
---
**editing to add: That's really messed up of Louis filming the medical professionals during the appointment in the hospital. Did he even ask for their permission? Is that even legal to film without their consent?

Blurring out their faces makes me think no, he didn't ask for their permission, and his YouTube channel is more important than anything or anyone else in the situation.

Louis' hair needs to go. Soon his rat's nest / tarantula is going to be hanging from the back of his otherwise bald head. It looks gross and unkempt. They both look like hobos in their gaudily furnished home, and the things they bought are only going to contribute to that. The restaurant they raved about was tacky as hell!
I guess we are going to see a lot of insincere ads now that they have to pay so much rent. Louis' sales pitch made me cringe so hard. What a sellout. And if you don't bring your own reusable bags when you know you are going to spend the day shopping, you are an idiot, and definitely not environmentally conscious. I can't believe these people are over thirty, they seem immature and clueless.

They posted their final house design in the last 5 mins of their new video. It’s not really any different from earlier plan and still includes the bus. They think it will take 5 months to build, but they’re leaving in April so who will oversee the build?

Louis sent the architect a Pinterest board filled with round houses, so the architect redesigned the whole thing to include a round house, but Louis only wanted a round roof - “I didn’t know you could add notes to Pinterest” he could easily have sent an email laying out his ideas and not wasted the architects time.

I think Raya wants to live in an easy, sanitised, problem-free treehouse community and CR is anything but that.

It has been clear in all their travel videos over recent years that Raya loves the idea of adventure but hates the reality of it.
